Lev Semjonovič Vygotskij: kulturněhistorická teorie / Lev Semyonovich Vygotsky: cultural-historical theory

Soukupová, Naděžda January 2011 (has links)
Goal of the thesis is to present main topics of L. S. Vygotsky's cultural-historical theory, especially with respect to the question of nature and character of human being. It's focused on philosophical and scientifical sources of the cultural-historical theory and the development of Vygotsky's thinking during his professional career. It attempts to picture his concept in the context of his life, as well as in the context of ideas and historic events of his era.

Similarly, it was tried to grasp the senses and meanings constituted by this teacher to her teaching profession. The theoretical approach of the sociocultural psychology was used, as well as that of the French clinical activity. The study was conducted in a public elementary school, located in the district of Brasilândia, São Paulo, SP, Brazil. After discussing the investigation with school s managers and the group of teachers, one of them, who taught at the 1st grade, agreed to be involved in it. The strategies for collecting information, interviews with the teacher, classroom s observations, video recordings of the teacher s classes and simple self-confrontation were used. Of all the video recorded classes, the teacher chose three episodes of approximately 10 minutes each, all of them watched and discussed between her and researcher. In data analysis, the core meanings of the teacher s discourse were constituted, as suggested by Aguiar and Ozella (2006). The results pointed out that the senses and meanings attributed by the teacher to her teaching activity were strongly linked to the pleasure of teaching, and to the feelings of security that the profession gave to her. In addition, it was shown that the teacher found difficulties in articulating the program s theory to her daily practices. Although believing that she had a constructivist practice, her activities were still a blend of traditional and constructivist teaching. These problems were connected to the difficulties encountered by teachers in continuing education, since the person responsible for leading it (called in Brazil educational coordinator ) was not adequately trained for this task. The simple self-confrontation allowed the teacher to observe herself performing her educational activities and discussing them with the researcher, what permitted her to initiate a process of evaluation of her own conduct, postures and attitudes in relation to the pupils. Moreover, the participation in the research provided the teacher an opportunity for creating new senses and meanings for her Professional activities.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Elisandra Felix Vieira.pdf: 1657483 bytes, checksum: eb7fd84e293cdad229033a4de94385d3 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2013-10-16 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This study aimed to grasp the senses and meanings that outlying public school teachers constitute for the difficulties and challenges they faced in their profession as well as how, according to them, these problems affect their ways of thinking, feeling and acting. Nowadays, teachers work is affected by proletarization, precarization and intensification of work, since they act in organizations with low budgets, doing a variety of functions that are not directly related to their profession, with rare opportunities of continuing professional development and, moreover, having to double or triple their daily schedule in order to make a paltry salary. Given this situation, we found it necessary to understand how these hardships affect teaching, more specifically that of Cristina, a teacher within the public school network of the municipality of São Paulo, in a Unified Educational Centre (CEU). From her narrative, as well as those of six other educators, it was possible to identify different indicators of subjective senses in these educational situations. Through articulation of the speeches, significations were identified that were gleaned as part of a dialectically determined society by means of social mediation, forming a picture that is, as the actual literature frequently points out, probably shared by the teaching professionals. The data obtained was analyzed according to the procedure suggested by Aguiar e Ozella (2006, 2013) and named Nuclei of Significations. In light of theoretical and analytical assumptions of sociocultural psychology and its main categories of analysis (historicity, mediation, thought, speech, senses and meanings), the results revealed that the distance between what is expected of the teachers and the little that they are offered in terms of resources and training has created feelings of abandonment and the desire to abscond from their professional responsibilities, as well as indifference and depersonalization, resulting from institutional problems which oppress them, producing an incapability to theorize beyond what they experienced and to understand the historical, political and economic determinations that impoverish the teaching career. Restricted by a precarious initial and continuous professional formation and by the limits of time and economic resources, the teachers need to be satisfied to teach at a level that is hardly related to pedagogical scientific knowledge / O presente estudo tem como objetivo compreender quais são os sentidos e significados que professores atuando em escolas de periferia constituem para as dificuldades e desafios encontrados em sua profissão e a maneira como, segundo eles, tais percalços afetam sua forma de pensar, sentir e agir.

Atuação profissional do agente de inclusão escolar: um estudo sobre os sentidos e significados constituídos por um deles / Professional practice of school inclusion agent: a study about the senses and meanings constructed by one of them

Carvalho, Agda Malheiro Ferraz de 03 March 2016 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-04-28T20:56:59Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Agda Malheiro Ferraz de Carvalho.pdf: 1068504 bytes, checksum: e5fe279cce1332da2e518398a83a4741 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2016-03-03 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The aim of this study was to gain knowledge about the professional practice of school inclusion agents (SIAs), in order to understand the senses and meanings constructed by one of them about his job. It is worth mentioning that the term SIAs refers to persons that provide assistance and care to students with disabilities attending regular schools. The research was conducted in a small county near the city of São Paulo (SP), where the SIA (Joseph) was interviewed. The data was recorded, transcribed, systematized and analyzed following the proposal of Aguiar and Ozella (2006, 2013) and Aguiar, Machado and Soares (2015), authors linked to the Sociocultural Psychology. It was found that Joseph came to the profession through public tender, with little information about what his task should be. Doing it, he came to realize the need to improve his interventions with the students, so that they could be active participants in the teaching-learning-evaluation process. The respondent s many frustrations seem to arise from the ambiguity between what he does and what he believes he should do, since he perceived the difficulties faced by students with disabilities and also those involved in dealing with them. Thus, the understanding of what is to be and to act as an SIA can help to better define what is expected of them in terms of providing support and education to students with functional differences, an essential feature of a truly inclusive education / O objetivo deste estudo foi ampliar os conhecimentos acerca da atuação profissional de agentes de inclusão escolar (AIEs), buscando apreender sentidos e significados dessa atuação.

From preparation to the leading (piloting) of the class, an intelligibility of the practices

Hennard, Francois 27 September 2010 (has links)
Built in multireferentiality, on the postulates of the sociocultural psychology of Vygotski, of the clinical analysis of activity (Y. Clot), of the ergonomics of the activity, the finality of this study is to build an intelligibility of the practices, habitus and singularity intermingled, in an understanding and développementale approach of the actions of preparation, like “a presence with the future” .Which bonds make the teachers between the direction, the form and the methods of their anticipatrice action of preparation and the action in progress of their effective control of the class, their leading (piloting) of the tasks, with the complexity of a situation of teaching-training, at the elementary school during an experimentation of ground in cross autoconfrontation? This PROBLEMATIC is organized in a descriptive and understanding step around three ASSUMPTIONS: Assumption 1, about the nature of the practice - each professional interprets the preparation differently. Assumption 2, between it to what the anticipation of the meeting relates (facilitating or not the management of unforeseen) and its effective piloting. Assumption 3, on the possible prolongations in formation. The METHOD, a “quasi-experimentation”, the access to the daily reality of the practices allows, in an enquiring space of co-construction experts / researcher, in support of the autoconfrontation which makes it possible “to make live the conscience to study it” (Vygotski), when this one is placed at the group of professional’s disposal, constituting the corpus, decree, in fine, on five singular actors, for a search for typicality of case of teachers. The INDICATORS of analysis, organized around the traces and of the designs of the preparation, make it possible to clarify the paradigm of anticipation and the preparation:- There are several configurations determined by the report with the support-tool and the management of the linguistic interactions.- The progress of the real enfolding class is the result of a system of interactions between piloting starting from the preparation and interpretations, major uncertainties, that the pupils make with the tasks. - While anticipating with the linear framework of the “canonical” preparation the teacher controls the linear one, on the opposite of the training and does not integrate a possibility of improvisation . It is not a sufficient tool of the trade, it makes it possible to establish relations of determination, but few relations of significance: interpretation thus remains in tension. To solve this tension, one can plan a complementary way, with the crossing of a private clinic of the educational relation and a private clinic of the activity: an individual and collective post-paration. This POST-PARATION - which allows problématiser, to introduce something which is not in the report of situation and to be in this presence with the future to allow the adjustment of the action - correlated with the professional style, in bond with the kind is constitutive of a capital of setting in words and of a repertory of acting out, which is resources to precede the action.

Discursive assessment practices in a special school for girls identified with a disability in one Arabic-speaking Gulf-Arabian country

Larry, Farida January 2019 (has links)
This study examines discursive assessment practices in a special school for girls identified with a disability in an Arabian-Gulf country. The study is driven by a notable absence of research on girls with disability in the Arab world, and the need for analysing practices that shape their identities and future trajectories. To disclose the mechanisms, processes, and tools influencing the coconstruction of girls' identities by members of a multidisciplinary team, I developed an analytic framework that draws on three theories: systemic functional linguistics, critical genre analysis and sociocultural theory of discourse and identity production. The main data source is the audio-record of conversations that took place at case-conference meetings (CCMs). To describe the genre of a CCM and to disclose what went on, who was involved, and what outcomes were achieved, I constructed three narratives: 'The most relevant thing about us', 'Much ado about everything', and 'Not so great expectations'. These narratives revealed the object, goals, and the outcomes of talk. With respect to the object of talk, or the knowledge underpinning assessment practices, there was much focus on girls' diagnostic histories and scores in IQ tests; they were given a high priority and perceived as key to understanding the girls. Analysis also revealed a resistance to move beyond dichotomous thinking (i.e. girls are either trainable or educable). The goals of talk were to pass on information, to share assessment results, and to list objectives for intervention, each practitioner within her domain of expertise. This mode of passing on - rather than - discussing information and assessment results limited the prospect to benefit from the distributed knowledge of practitioners. The outcomes of talk were mediated by the two preceding discursive actions. A preoccupation with girls' medical diagnosis, and a focus on passing on rather than discussing assessment reinforced deficit thinking. Further, categories assigned to girls stood as self-fulfilling prophesies, and as predictors of girls' future performance. The space to create more positive identities was evident, however, where practitioners knew little about girls' genetic or developmental disabilities. The implications of these objectifying practices are serious with respect to Gulf-Arabian countries and to similar Muslim sociocultural contexts. Perceiving diagnosis as the absolute truth feeds fatalistic beliefs further and results in inactivity and invisibility. Implications are offered for policy and practice and for future research.
