This proposal analyzes the necessary interventions in order to preserve the investments made in these platforms, integrating them to existent data networks. Beside other benefits presented in this work, one key advantage is the possibility to transport voice over an existing data infrastructure, optimizing usage of carrier connections. / O objetivo desta dissertação é o de apresentar um estudo do processo de migração de plataformas de voz PABX (Private Automatic Branch Exchange) TDM (Time Division Multiplex) de comunicações corporativas baseadas na tecnologia CPA-T (Controle por Programa Armazenado estágio de comutação temporal digital), para sistemas convergentes suportados pelo protocolo TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol). São analisadas as intervenções necessárias para esta migração, preservando ao máximo os investimentos efetuados nestas plataformas, integrando-as as redes de dados existentes. Dentre outras vantagens apresentadas no texto, destaca-se a otimização dos acessos fornecidos pelas operadoras de telecomunicações pelo compartilhamento da infra-estrutura da rede de dados para o tráfego de sinais de voz.

The thesis deals with implementing of statistical process control (SPC) on CNC cut center into the mechanic production. One part of the project is engaged in theoretical information gathering, process monitoring and data collection. Second part deals with stabilization, regulation and improvement of the process using right statistical instruments. As a result is implementing measuring station from where will be the process data transferred to a server and evaluated. On the basis of that is possible to implement a correction in the right time if the process isn´t stabilized. The main objectives of the thesiss are cost reduction, scrap reduction and modernization of the process.

Transfer Path Analysis of a Passenger Car

Even though there are no regulations on the interior noise level of passenger cars, it is a significant quality aspect both for customers and for car manufacturers. The reduction of many other car noise sources pushed tyre road noise to the forefront.What is more, well known phenomenon of the tyre acoustic cavity resonance (TCR), appearing around 225 Hz, makes the interior noise noticeably worse. Some techniques to mitigate this phenomenon right at the source are discussed in this thesis, however, these has not been adopted by the tyre nor car manufacturers yet.Therefore, there is a desire to minimise at least the transmission of the acoustic or vibration energy from the tyre to the compartment. This is where methods like TPA (Transfer Path Analysis) come into play.In this thesis, two different approaches to TPA are used to investigate transmission of the TCR energy.First, the coherence based road decomposition method is used to determine whether the TCR energy is transmitted by a structure-borne or an air-borne mechanism. The same method serves to identify if the TCR noise comes mainly from the front or the rear suspension.Second, the impedance matrix method was used to determine critical structure-borne transfer paths yielding clear results indicating two critical mounts at the rear suspension which dominate the transfer of vibro-acoustic energy. Subsequent physical modification of the critical mount was tested to verify the results of the transmission study.Moreover, deflection shape analysis of the tyre, rim, front and rear suspension was performed to identify possible amplification effects of the TCR phenomenon.

Switches, which are critical components of the Swedish railway, have a neglected maintenance cost that is three times as high as their current annual maintenance cost. Between 2017 and 2018, switches’ reported faults increased by 38 % and about one-third of them caused delays on the regular railway traffic. The purpose of this master thesis is to present recommendations of how condition-based maintenance could reduce the occurrence of faults in railway switches that affects the regular railway traffic. Condition-based maintenance is a cost-effective strategy designed to monitor and plan maintenance according to the condition of a device and is suitable for remote-controlled monitoring. To fulfill the purpose the thesis was divided into three milestones that were accomplished by applying the problem-solving method DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control). The first milestone included the Define and Measure steps and aimed to investigate which fault caused the largest number of delay minutes per fault. Different categories of causes that affects the railway traffic were analysed. Among them, Material-weakening/Aging and Broken component resulted in many faults and delay minutes. The faults were sorted into groups at component level. Faults caused by Gearbox were identified as those causing the largest delays in the railway traffic. The result from the first milestone with the Define and Measure steps were then used for the second milestone. The second milestone included the Analyse step where it was investigated if the identified faults in Gearbox could be foreseen. This investigation was first conducted through the analysis of alarms recorded in one of Trafikverket’s databases. A graphical analysis of the data showed that no relationship could be identified between the faults in Gearbox and the recorded alarms of the database. Then, it was investigated if faults in Gearbox could be foreseen using statistical process control charts based on switching time. Statistical process control monitors a process using real time data. However, in this thesis we used historical data from 2018 to perform our analysis. The available data had deficiencies in quality due to truncation of the switching time. The truncation meant that the decimals were removed. The control charts issued out-of-control situations where the existing database did not record any alarm. Moreover, data on the switching time of several switches showed significant autocorrelation that affects the calculation of the control limits. However, the results appeared complex to interpret most likely because of the truncation and the autocorrelation of the data. A further graphical analysis of the switching time and the mean of the switching time indicated that 69 % of the switches had a probable relationship between faults in Gearbox and switching time. The third milestone included the Improve and Control steps and provided recommendations of how to reduce the occurrence of faults in switches. The analysis conducted in the previous milestones led to the following recommendations: Increase measurement accuracy when measuring switching time, Establish control charts for the switching time based on statistical process control and explain potential causes of the observed autocorrelation, and Improve reporting procedures of faults in the database. / Spårväxlar, som är en kritisk komponent på den svenska järnvägen, har ett eftersatt underhållsbehov som motsvarar en kostnad som är tre gånger större än den årliga underhållskostnaden. Från 2017 till 2018 ökade rapporteringen av funktionsfel i spårväxlar med 38 % och ungefär en tredjedel av funktionsfelen var tågstörande fel som orsakar merförseningar i tågtrafiken. Syftet med examensarbetet är att presentera rekommendationer för hur uppkomsten av tågstörande fel i spårväxlar kan reduceras genom tillståndsbaserat underhåll. Tillståndsbaserat underhåll är en kostnadseffektiv strategi som ämnar att övervaka och planera underhållsåtgärder efter tillståndet i enheten och är lämplig vid fjärrstyrd övervakning. För att uppfylla examensarbetets syfte delades projektet upp i tre delmål som besvarades genom tillämpning av problemlösningsmetoden DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve och Control). Det första delmålet innefattade stegen Define och Measure och ämnade undersöka vilket funktionsfel som orsakat flest antal merförseningsminuter per fel. Orsakskategorier till tågstörande fel analyserades där Materialutmattning/Åldrande samt Komponent trasig hade ett stort antal tågstörande fel och merförseningsminuter. Orsakskategorierna bröts ner till komponentnivå varav funktionsfel i Växellåda identifierades att orsaka flest antal merförseningsminuter per fel. Resultatet från Delmål 1 samt de två stegen Define och Measure användes därefter till Delmål 2. Det andra delmålet innefattade steget Analyse och ämnade att undersöka om det identifierade funktionsfelet i Växellåda kunde förutspås. Detta undersöktes genom larm från en av Trafikverkets befintliga databaser. Utifrån en grafisk analys av larmen kunde inget samband identifieras mellan funktionsfelet i Växellåda och larm från databasen. Därför undersöktes istället om funktionsfel i Växellåda kunde förutspås genom styrdiagram baserat på omläggningstid. Statistisk processtyrning är lämpligt vid övervakning av processer i realtid, men i detta examensarbetes analys användes historisk data från 2018. Den tillgängliga data hade brister i kvalitet till följd av trunkering av omläggningstiden. Trunkeringen innebar att decimalerna har avlägsnats. I styrdiagrammen påvisades larm där den befintliga databasen inte innehöll larm. Dessutom påvisade data på omläggningstiden från flera spårväxlar signifikant autokorrelation vilket påverkar beräkning av styrgränserna. Resultatet var således svårt att tolka på grund av trunkering och autokorrelerade data. Grafisk analys av omläggningstider och medelvärdet av omläggningstiderna indikerade att 69 % av spårväxlarna hade ett troligt samband mellan funktionsfel i Växellåda och omläggningstiden. Det tredje delmålet innefattade stegen Improve och Control och ämnade att upprätta rekommendationer för hur uppkomsten av funktionsfel i spårväxlar kan reduceras. Analysen i föregående delmål resulterade i följande rekommendationer:       • Öka mätnoggrannheten vid mätning av omläggningstid,       • Upprätta styrdiagram för omläggningstiden utifrån statistisk processtyrning och identifiera orsaken till autokorrelerade data, och       • Förbättra inrapportering av funktionsfel.

It is an obvious fact that e-procurement plays a vital role in managing the supply chain especially now that outsourcing has become very common in the business market environment around the world. The main purpose of our bachelor thesis work is to find out how e-procurement can contribute in creating value, reducing cost and gaining more profit out of the procurement process. Since this thesis report is meant to cover the available literature on procurement and e-procurement only limited areas of the supply chain management is presented.When it comes to methodologies, available literatures on procurement and e-procurement have been covered to extract the most plausible information and data related how e-procurement contributes in creating value and reducing costs and overheads in the supply chain management. Exploring internal and external service chains of electronic government services

The objectives of this research are to explore the relationships among service chains of electronic government services. This research proposes models (1) to explore the linkages among internal marketing, internal service quality, and internal customer satisfaction in electronic government services, i.e. the internal service chain; (2) to explore the linkage between external service quality and external customer satisfaction, i.e. the external service chain; and (3) to employ the concept of the service profit chain model and the public sector service value chain model to explore the linkage between internal and external service chains. Two kinds of surveys, employee and citizen surveys, were conducted to collect data for this research on two cases including the Kaohsiung Citizen Electronic Complaint System and the National Science and Technology Museum Collection Management System. Internal and external customer data was matched through individual-level instead of group-level used in most studies. Structural equation modeling and Ordinary Least Squares regression analysis were used to test proposed models. The research results support the proposed hypotheses, including (1) internal marketing positively influences internal service quality; (2) internal marketing positively influences internal customer satisfaction; (3) internal service quality has positive influence on internal customer satisfaction; (4) external customer satisfaction is influenced by external service quality; with the exception of (5) the relationship between internal customer satisfaction and external service quality receiving no significant support. Managerial implications are presented for public managers to better serve internal and external customers. Further studies are encouraged to include service-specific variables and technology-specific variables to examine the internal-external link of customer perceptions.

SPC chart utilization was widespread in Japan in the postwar period and its effective use in Brazil occurred from the 90´s. Although several examples of use, there are still some industries where deployment of SPC and its sustained use in shopfloor were not successful. In the chemical industry, its use in the shopfloor is controversial and there is no many studies focused on this industry to explain the factors that can impact the successful implementation of statistical control charts by operational teams. This dissertation aims to investigate, through an action research, which are the critical factors for a successful implementation and sustained use of SPC charts in a chemical. It was performed a literature review to gather studies about success factors to implement SPC chart in industries. Using action research, those critical success factors were tested in practice with operators in the chemical plant of a multinational enterprise located in Brazil. This chemical plant has experimented to implement SPC chart in the past with no success. As a result of the action research, we succeed to implement SPC chart in the industrial unit and reduce variability with savings of US$ 150,000.00 per year energy. SPC chart use was well received by operators and leadership, showing that some success factors are really critical for a correct SPC implementation in a brazilian chemical plant. The results were used to develop a roadmap for SPC, with details about how and when to work each success factor. Afterwards, Roadmap was used in another eight different industrial units of the chemical company, all with success. / As cartas de controle estatístico de processo (cartas CEP) foram criadas no século 20 nos Estados Unidos e desde então vêm sendo usadas para diversas finalidades em diferentes setores da indústria e serviços. Seu uso foi difundido no Japão no pós guerra e no Brasil seu uso efetivo ocorreu a partir da década de 90. Apesar de vários exemplos de uso, ainda há para alguns ramos da indústria o desafio de implantar as cartas CEP no chão de fábrica e manter o seu uso pelas equipes. Nas indústrias químicas, seu uso no chamado chão de fábrica é controverso e são poucos os estudos voltados para esse tipo de indústria que expliquem os fatores que impactam no sucesso da implantação das cartas de controle estatístico. Essa dissertação tem como objetivo, investigar, através de uma pesquisa ação, quais fatores são preponderantes no sucesso da implantação e uso continuado das cartas CEP em uma planta química no Brasil. Foi realizada pesquisa bibliográfica sobre os estudos já realizados em diferentes tipos de indústria e coletados os fatores de sucesso identificados. Em seguida, esses fatores que impactam no sucesso da implantação da carta CEP foram testados na prática em uma planta química de uma empresa multinacional instalada no Brasil há muitos anos e que no passado não teve êxito na adoção das cartas CEP. Como resultado, conseguiu-se implantar as cartas de controle estatístico e se garantir a continuidade da sua utilização pelas equipes operacionais. Na planta química pesquisada, reduziu-se a variabilidade da umidade de um produto na seção de filtração resultando em um ganho de 150 mil dólares por ano em consumo de energia para a empresa. O uso da carta CEP foi bem recebido pelos operadores e lideranças. Os resultados obtidos serviram para elaborar um roteiro de implantação das cartas CEP, que detalha para cada fator de sucesso quais ações práticas devem ser feitas e em qual sequência. O roteiro foi posteriormente utilizado em mais oito pilotos de diferentes unidades industriais da própria empresa pesquisada, todos com sucesso.
