Prvoprincipiální analýza stability krystalů pevných látek / FIRST PRINCIPLES ANALYSIS OF MECHANICAL STABILITY OF SOLID CRYSTALS

Řehák, Petr January 2013 (has links)
The aim of the author’s research in the period of his PhD study was the analysis of mechanical stability of cubic crystals under external loading. This work demonstrates several methods used for a study of mechanical stability of fcc crystals (C, Al, Ir, Pt, Au) during isotropic (hydrostatic) tensile loading. Ab initio methods were used for this purpose. Studied crystals were subjected to simulated isotropic tensile deformation and an analysis of elastic stability was performed. This analysis shows that first elastic instability in Al, Pt and Au crystals corresponds to vanishing of the trigonal shear modulus and diamond, Ir remains stable up to the state of maximum isotropic stress. According to the calculated band structure diamond crystal preserves his insulating character up to the onset of instability. Consequently, phonon spectra of all crystals were calculated using the linear response method and their dynamic stability was assessed. Obtained results reveal soft phonon modes in Al, Pt and Ir before an occurrence of elastic instability. Selected short-wavelength instabilities are confirmed using models of microscopic deformation and also using dispersion curves obtained by a supercell method. The observed instabilities lower critical strains related to the volumetric instability up to 40 % whereas the reduction of critical stress is by 20 % at the most.

Schön, Martin, Andersson, Daniel January 2007 (has links)
Polykemi AB uses FTIR-analysis continuously in material identification, trouble shooting and development. The company has an extensive library of references containing spectra of raw material (polymers, additives, filling materials and fortifiers). The company buy pure polymers which are modified by mixing with filling material in an extruder, which result in a polymeric compound. The practical part of this bachelor thesis was initiated with collecting of FTIR-spectra from some of the thermopolymers, additives, filling materials and fortifiers which the company uses. Finally spectra of some polymeric compounds were collected. These spectra were interpreted and the included materials were identified. Two different methods were used to collect spectra: polymer film and diffuse reflectance. Menšíková, Marcela January 2014 (has links)
Topic: Motion Composition for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder Objectives: The aim of this thesis has been to find out the degree of mastery for individual performance of Motion Composition performed by children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Methods: Observation method was supplemented with video-recording that was conducted monthly. This was used to determine the degree of self-reliance. Also, feedback from other individuals has been used. Results: Outcomes of this survey indicate that children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are able to individually perform Motion Composition. Some children need more time to perform perfectly, but they are able to memorize components of Motion Composition, arrange them in the correct order and after some rehearsal they are able to perform Motion Composition correctly. The level of performance for individual components is raised proportionally when children can see visual execution of each element and also hear its description. Evaluated results of a second scientific question, which was related to the level of performance difficulty of individual components of Motion Composition for children with ASD, have brought unanticipated results. We anticipated that isometric exercises would be the most difficult components of Motion Composition. According...
