Riskfaktorer för skador hos elitorienterare / Risc Factors for Injuries in Elite Orienteers

Björck, Oscar January 2021 (has links)
Previous studies on elite orienteers have been focusing on injury occurrence and location of injuries. Studies on risk factors and psychological relationship to injuries are limited. The purpose of this study where to evaluate if there are correlation between demographic, psychological or physical factors and severity score of injuries in elite orienteers. The study used already collected data from an RCT-study. The study involved 62 participants, of whom 32 were men and 30 women. Base measurements were collected from demographic data, stress questionaries and physical tests. The questionnaires that were used were Hassles and Uplifts Scale and Perceived Stress Scale. The physical tests consisted of heel- rise test and square jump test. To evaluate injuries the Oslo Sport Trauma Research Center Overuse Injury Questionnaire were performed every second week for 14 weeks. The analysis was performed with linear regression, but the residuals were not normally distributed and therefore non-parametric statistics were also performed and was compared with the linear regressions. In the multiple linear regression, a relationship was identified between the severity score of injuries and two variables, but which could not be confirmed by the non-parametric statistics. Therefore, no risk factor for injuries in elite orienteers could be established. This result is not corresponding with previous studies on similar sports, who have established that previous injury and stress are risk factors. Before conclusions can be drawn more studies with larger numbers of participants and longer follow-up period are needed before risk factors for injuries in elite orienteers can be identified.

Análises bioquímicas como adjuvante de aprimoramento atlético

Siqueira, Luciano de Oliveira January 2009 (has links)
The regular exercise has helped in controlling chronic diseases and improves quality of life. Moreover, the practice of elite sport may be harmful to athletes as if unaware of the actual boundary between the deleterious and beneficial effects of exercise on professional athletes. The increase in the consumption of O2 leads to increased production of ROS, which depending on the redox status of athletes, may lead to different levels of oxidative stress. The aim of this study was to establish a biochemical profile in different conditions of effort in professional athletes in training. samples of blood and urine of athletes during training sessions of different intensities were analyzed. Results suggest that session of moderate intensity exercise effort and long-term made more intense biochemical changes when compared to intermittent effort, showing that biochemical changes may be subject to variables such as temperature, humidity, degree of hydration and nutrition. The results show that the control laboratory markers of injury and catabolism may contribute to diagnose metabolic impairment frames and therefore in athletic performance.

The influence of hypnosis in the context of sports-injuries : an ecosystemic perspective

Kaplan, Roleen Sandra 12 1900 (has links)
In this study an ecosystemic approach to self-hypnosis was utilised as a tool to explore and describe the healing of sport injuries. Four injured Subjects, from four different sporting activities participated in the study. Self-hypnosis/hypnosis was used as a linguistic means to perturb the problem-defining ideas within which the sport injury was embedded. Problem dis-solution involved a process of reframing each Subject's current reality through dialogue, and a new reality for each respective Subject was co-constructed through consequent linguistic differentiation. The hypnotist, participating in the linguistic domain as an equal participant, looked for intended meanings in each respective conversational exchange with the athletes, and synthesised information creatively. This process and the thinking behind each case study is described in detail in this dissertation. / Psychology / M.A. (Psychology)

Náhrada škody v přeshraničních případech se zaměřením na úrazy ve sportu / Damage compensation in cross-border cases focused on sport injuries

Stránská, Kateřina January 2013 (has links)
The dissertation deals with the relationship between sport and the law, in conjunction with private international law. For more than a century sport passed through an important period of development. Many sports have been successfully forgotten, some have survived, and many can be included as the new sports with a tradition of several years or decades. Legal theory and legal practice so far took no particular need to take the issue of sports opinion. Sport is an objectively existing category in nature regardless the law. However, questions regularly associated with sports injuries and their resulting consequences emerged. The growing need for legal regulation of sport industry is primarily related to risks that sports bring to their surroundings and also to athletes. In the foreground there is the application of civil law, which affects compensation for damage to health and sports injuries. Clear solution has not been found to this day. The main goal of this thesis is to evaluate the current state winter sports legislation with an emphasis on skiing. The main topic of the dissertation is responsibility for damages in connection with ski injuries. Another objective is a certain attempt to process selected issues of mutual relations between sport and the law with a particular focus on the comparison...
