A recent study states that about 90% of all refactorings are done manually. Manual refactoring edits are error prone, as refactoring requires developers to coordinaterelated transformations and to understand the complex inter-relationship between affected files, variables, and methods. In this context, regression tests suites are often used as safety net for decreasing the chances of introducing behavior changes while refactoring. However, due to the high costs related to handling massive test suites, there is a need for optimizing testing execution. Test case prioritization techniques propose new test execution orders fostering early fault detection. However, existing general-purpose prioritization techniques are not specifically designed for detecting refactoring-related faults. In this work we propose a refactoringaware strategy - (RBA) (Refactoring-Based Approach) – for prioritizing regression test case execution. RBA reorders an existing test suite, according to a set of proposed Refactoring Fault Models (RFMs), which comprise impact locations of certain refactorings. Although being the most used refactoring validation strategy in practice, regression suites might be inadequate. Inadequate test suites may prevent developers from initiating or performing refactorings due to the risk of introducing bugs. To complement testing validation and help developers to review refactorings, we propose REFDISTILLER, a static analysis approach for detecting missing and extra edits that deviate from a standard refactoring and thus may affect a program’s behavior. Both strategies (RBA and RefDistiller) focus on Java/JUnit systems and on a set of the most common refactoring types. Our evaluation using a data set composed by hard-to-identify refactoring faults shows that RBA improves the position of the first fault-revealing test case in 71% of the suites, also providing a better grouping rate (in 73% of the cases) for test cases in the prioritized sequence, when compared to well-know general purpose techniques. Regarding REFDISTILLER, it detects 97% of all faults from our data set with seeded refactoring faults, of which 24% are not detected by generated test suites. Moreover, in a study with open source projects. REFDISTILLER detects 22.1 times more anomalies than testing, with 94% precision on overage. Those results show that (i) RBA can considerably improve prioritization during perfective evolution, both by anticipating fault detection as well as by helping to giving more information about the defects earlier, and (ii) REFDISTILLER effectively complements dynamic analysis by finding additional anomalies, while providing information that help fault debugging/fixing.

Iravedra, Rafael January 2014 (has links)
This work offers interpretative and technical tools for the construction of a performance of the suite Imágenes for guitar, by the Argentinian composer Carlos Aguirre. Through a structural analysis of the pieces that form the suite and its relation with other genders of folk music on which they are based, as well as biographic and stylistic information of the composer and his works for guitar, we present relevant material for a better comprehension of these pieces. In the second section of this work, we present fingering suggestions for both hands as alternatives to those indicated in the original edition. Versions recorded by the composer with other instruments of two pieces of the suite were analyzed as sources for interpretative ideas for the guitar. To resolve technical difficulties in Imágenes, we propose exercises, mainly based on Fernández’ (2000) concept of version zero.

A Study of Ravel's Tombeau de Couperin

Henderson, Ruth 07 1900 (has links)
Ravel' s "Tombeau de Couperin," a suite for piano, was published in 1918 by Durand. Its first performance was in the Salle Gaveau in Paris in April, 1919. Shortly afterwards Ravel scored four of the six movements of the piano suite for small orchestra, composed of flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, and horns in pairs, English horn, trumpet, harp, and strings, The new version was introduced in America in 1920. The four orchestrated movements, Prelude, Forlane, Menuet, and Rigaudon, have no programmatic content and the titles identify the forms used. "Le Tombeau de Couperin" is a souvenir of World War I. Each movement is dedicated to the memory of a French soldier fallen in battle. The "Tombeau" form dates from the seventeenth century and is a musical "homage" to Francois Couperin, clavecinist of Louis XIV, and one of the great names of French music. "The separate movements, cast in eighteenth century dance forms often used by Qouperin have been described as "tonal wreaths," not too somber nor too profuse, laid with tenderness on an unforgotten tomb." This piece represents Ravel's extreme effort to express himself in the simplest possible manner. The music is subtly archaic; form, line and texture artfully suggest eighteenth century, but the harmony suggests twentieth century. "A transparent serenity full of color and feeling pervades this piece of classic purity written in tribute to Ravel's fallen comrades." A study of the piano suite has been made. The pieces are charmingly and precisely orchestrated. They have been used for a ballet which will not be dealt with.

Two Movements from the Delphic Suite: A Composition for Orchestra

Walczyk, Kevin, 1964- 12 1900 (has links)
Delphic Suite is a composition for orchestra that depicts specific events narrated in Homer's epic tale, Odyssey. For the purpose of this thesis the second movement, Raid on Ismarus, has been omitted so as to focus on the melodic, rhythmic, and harmonic structures of the first movement, Lament from Troy, and the third movement, Ruler of the Winds. Each of these musical parameters will be analyzed in order to illustrate the Suite's imitation of compositional techniques exemplified in the music of Homer's era, and the musical results obtained by juxtaposing those parameters upon a twentieth-century tonal scheme that provides the Suite with an eclectic ambience.

Characterization of cipher suite selection, downgrading, and other weaknesses observed in the wild / Karaktärisering av cipher suite val, nedgradering och andra svagheter som observerats i det vilda

Kjell, Edvin, Frisenfelt, Sebastian January 2021 (has links)
The importance of security on the web is growing every day. How domains handle and prioritize their level of security is varying. Tradeoffs between security and convenience have to be made to uphold a website's public image. This thesis uses a subset of domains from the Alexa Top 1M list. The list was used to create our datasets, collected through active scans with testssl.sh. This thesis has through the mentioned datasets compared domains in regards to several security aspects and analyzed how they handle security and convenience. We performed our scans over the course of two weeks to analyze each domain's level of security. As well as looking at top domains for several popular categories. Our analysis mainly focused on comparing the domains on their choice of Transport Layer Security (TLS) version, cipher suite, support for HSTS, and if they were exposed to any vulnerabilities. The subset of domains that we looked at saw about 50% implementation of TLS 1.3. We discovered that the most popular domains tend to choose availability as one of their highest priorities, leaving them exposed to vulnerabilities in earlier versions of the TLS protocol. Most domains that showed exposure to one vulnerability, in general, also were exposed to BEAST. This was also the most prominent vulnerability among all domains. We also showed that many of the negotiated cipher suites on the list of domains still utilize cipher block chaining, which is known to be weak. Our results show that different browsers, mobile operating systems, and the time of day had a negligible impact on the choice of TLS version. Most of the domains in the popular categories had not yet adopted TLS 1.3 and were overall more exposed to the tested vulnerabilities than those on the top million list. The support for HSTS was low in both the categories and on the Alexa top list. We conclude that upgrading to the latest recommended standard should always be a priority for server operators.
