The Development of the Exception Handling Mechanisms Based on BPEL4WS

Chang, Hsiang-chin 23 July 2004 (has links)
Because of the advance of Internet and the outsourcing, multi-company cooperation is imperative under this circumstance. In order to monitor states between partners during execution, this thesis develops exception handling mechanisms based on Web service stack. After detecting exceptions, the first step is to make use of the fault handler and compensation handler provided by the BPEL4WS specification to roll back planned or even executed business processes belonging to the same scope to the original state. The second step is to utilize the resources searching mechanism, including BE4WS and BCME, to find suitable substitutes to make a replacement or find fitting partners to cooperate with the original one. The third step is to take advantage of the extensibility, flexibility and scalability of BPEL4WS business process to adjust and re-form a new one to handle this unexpected situation. This study uses the LCD supply chain as an example to evaluate the proposed exception handling mechanisms. The result shows that the proposed methods obtain encouraging performance. The major contribution of this research is the initiation efforts on developing exception handling mechanisms based on Web service technologies to improve the exception handling performance.

A Study on Information sharing in Marine Supply Chain : A Case Study of Container Terminal

Huang, Chen-Mao 27 July 2004 (has links)
To satisfy the transportation service request of clients and to control the associated costs are the main targets of marine container transportation industry. To achieve the transportation service for clients, plenty of participants and procedures are involved in the Marine Supply Chain (MSC), leading to the need of exchanging a huge amount of information. This study is focused on how and what kind of information sharing should be exchanged in these participants and procedures of Maritime Supply Chain. We use UMM (UN/CEFACT Modeling Methodology of ebXML business process) to investigate the business processes between participants in Marine Supply Chain. We also conducted a case study in an important location of maritime supply chain, i.e., Port Container Terminal to discuss about the information sharing content and sharing pattern in MSC processes. The result shows that in the marine cargo delivery process, Port Container Terminal is responsible for Berth Schedule Planning, Berth Planning, Yard Planning and Gate Planning to achieve the container transport service for the clients. Therefore, plenty of participants and procedures have to be involved in the Marine Supply Chain, and plenty of information have to be interchanged. However, beside Customs Clearance procedure, there are no common information technology platform and standard for information interchange in marine container transportation industry. To improve the service quality of domestic marine cargo delivery, we have to establish an information sharing system. Moreover, I personally hope this study can be used as a reference of information system analysis and design. Improving the information sharing standardization and building information sharing pattern can simplify and improve the procedures of marine cargo delivery system.

The Possibility of Promoting Collaboration Commerce for Steel Industry. ¡V A Case Study of Big sized Enterprises in Taiwan

Chen, Ming-Ho 17 January 2005 (has links)
The Possibility of Promoting Collaboration Commerce for Steel Industry ¡V A Case Study of Big sized Enterprises in Taiwan. Student¡GMing-Ho Chen Advisor¡GPhd. Chin-Fu Ho Department of Information Management National Sun Yat-sen University Abstract The time of high steel price is coming ,the competitive rules is still not change are low cost and discriminatory is the same as depression in economy .It is important to care for customer service product added values and to reduce management costs to prevent cycling from previous Dilemma .Collaboration Commerce is the perfect solution to promote competitive capability and to reduce cost for B2B. Collaboration Commerce is not only to share information to reduce cost but also promote market effective ,further , to create a transaction-platform for customer and supplier. Collaboration Commerce is not successfully in Domestic steel industry ,although electronized enterprise very early. Therefore, the introduction of IOS shall not only start from technological aspect, but also have to evaluate as a whole from collaboration, organization and technology. Hence, this research is based on the three major scopes of IOS addressed by Kumar and Crook (1999), and explores inter-organizational collaboration¡¦s influence on Collaboration Commerce through IBM e-Business Collaboration Tool / evaluation model for supplier ; furthermore, combines TEMPLET evaluation model to analyze enterprise¡¦s organization and technology capability to predict the possibility for domestic steel enterprises to promote Collaboration Commerce in the future. This research adopts qualitative research method and combines secondary literature to discuss the pioneer enterprises promotion processes, which implement the project of Collaboration Commerce , and through the analysis to verify and correct the initial concept model and theoretical claims of the research framework. Furthermore, in terms of case analysis, the research object is the big sized steel companies and their subcontractors of the big sized steel industry. Steel industry is one of the traditional domestic industries, which required highly specialty and labor division, all of its products have to be closely cooperated between manufacturers and subcontractors, so it is the model of standard upper and lower supply chains relationship, however, its supply chains still lack of information system¡¦s support till now. Therefore, it is expected to estimate the feasibility for Steel industry to promote Collaboration Commerce to upper and lower supply chains through this research, and bring up appropriate business model and relevant suggestions according to research results. This research shows that case enterprise¡¦s Collaboration for supplier¡¦s capability is inferior to the pioneer enterprises C.S.C., on one hand it is because of the different industrial natures, and on the other hand is not ready for workflow . In terms of organization management and IT¡¦s capability, case enterprise has common or above organization levels, so it has adequate operating flexibility, however, to see as a whole, Furthermore, the research shows the problem and successful case and the implement strategy &planning. Case enterprises to implement Collaboration Commerce in the future shall enhance the strength and improve the weakness in evaluation model, and have all the supply chains levels up and balanced ,still great chances for it to promote Collaboration Commerce successfully in the future ,can improve the production ¡B Inventory ¡Bpurchase¡Bcustomer desire get good optimized,to integrate interenterprises from inner to outer and less labor via organization and technology.specially,it is easy to be successful in grouping enterprises for Collaboration Commerce ,because it is be shared for information and data transactions .Low cost and discriminatory are the keypoints in competition enterprises need to investigate the key performance indicator any time ,included people ¡Awrkflow ¡Astrategy etc. it shall have a team to promote Collaboration Commerce and discuss it one another by the top leader's support. This research gives the steel enterprises that want to promote Collaboration Commerce 9 specific discoveries and 2 specific discoveries in organization and IT listed below: ¤@¡BOrganization and technology 1.The work flow of companies involve considerable human intervension due to sale discounts or seasonal adequate raw material. 2.Case enterprise care for intergrating application system and database will be helpful to promote Collaboration Commerce. ¤G¡BCollaboration for supplier 1. Digital divide exist still severely in suppliers of raw material and MRO due to the performance of investment. 2. Standardize is going in progress ,but communication and coordination process slowly. 3. Government¡¦s policy have the successfully cases ,so it will be lasting to be pushed 4. Collaboration ¡¥s capability of the case enterprises ¡¥s for supplier is not adequate due to not integrated database and work flow . 5. The definition of workflow and business rules is not accordance with interorganization . 6.The Circumstances for design collaboration have the new desires in globalization . 7.The transparant of inventory information is not yet acceptable in steel industry due to privileges. 8. The investment is too high in collaboration will be considered if implement collaboration commerce by efficient. 9. Collaboration production is helpful with each other in supply chains to share iinformations and closely customer relationship. It is also expected to provide more valuable references for steel enterprises that want to promote Collaboration Commerce by this research. The Study of Deflation in China in 1990's

Cheng, Tung-hsu 18 June 2005 (has links)
To resolve the inflation caused by overheated economy in 1992, China executed Macroscopic Control Policy to stabilize the fluctuation of price standard in 1993. It seemed to achieve the effort of controlling inflation. However, because of longtime Macroscopic Control Policy after Asian Financial Crisis, it resulted in negative impacts. CPI in China has been minus quantity for 39 months from October in 1997 to December in 2000. And CPI turned plus into minus from April in 1998 to January in 2000. And CPI turned plus into minus from April in 1998 to January in 2000. The growth rate of RPI is -2.6% and that of CPI is -0.8% in 1998. It declined to -3.0%(RPI) and -1.4%(CPI) in 1999. The growth rate of GDP has fallen down since 1992. The main purpose of this paper is to explore the reason of the deflation late in 1990 in China. I want to find out why deflation was happened in china? What is the main cause of deflation in china? What are the impacts and shocks to china economic growth by these causes? How are the impacts and shocks to china economic growth by these causes? The whole supply and demand and money contraction resulted in the downfall of GDP and CPI. To prevent the phenomena of overheated economy since 1993, most of investment moved away China because of Macroscopic Control Policy. Under this kind of situation, we couldn¡¦t say that the investments were excess. Therefore, the main reason isn¡¦t prices dropping caused by too much supply. China continued Deflation Policy after Asian Financial Crisis in 1997, so the speed of economy development decreased slowly. It also reduced the whole consumption, public spending, investment export, and money supply and demand. The effect of negative development resulted in the deflation of economy development.

NTSC Video Sync Separator and A Gm-C Anti-Aliasing Filter Design with Digitally Tunable Bandwidth for DVB-T Receivers

Hung, Chien-Chih 24 June 2005 (has links)
The first topic of this thesis is a novel NTSC video sync separator (NSS) with a high-PSR (power supply rejection) bias generation circuitry (BGC) comprising a temperature compensation circuitry. The proposed BGC is composed of step-down regulators and a bandgap-based bias with cascode current control. The clamping voltages required for sync separation from an NTSC signal are generated. The second topic is a temperature-compensated 6th order transconductance-C (Gm-C) anti-aliasing filter (AAF) with digitally tunable bandwidth which can be applied in the analog front-end circuit of DVB-T receivers. The proposed AAF is controlled by digital signals to provide three different baseband bandwidth (6, 7, 8 MHz) selection. A regulator with a bandgap circuitry supplies a stable voltage to suppress the variations of power and temperature. Moreover, a temperature -compensated circuitry is used to neutralize bandwidth drifting caused by the temperature variation. The bandwidth accuracy of the proposed design verified by HSPICE post-layout simulations is better than 3.28% at every PVT (process, supply voltage, temperature) corner. It is adequate for the DVB-T receivers¡¦ baseband processing.

The Optimal Strategy for Executing Vendor Managed Inventory

Lin, Wei-chih 03 January 2006 (has links)
This paper evaluates how a firm uses vendor managed inventory (VMI) to manage inventories under costs constraint in uncertainly industrial environment and various demand. The emphasis of this research is to discuss the impacts how demand variation influences the effects of the firm executing VMI and how different supplier levels (ABC) affects firm¡¦s VMI strategy. This research built a cost model which contained construction cost, overhead cost, inventory cost, and shortage cost and compared the profits ex-using VMI with the profits using VMI. Furthermore, use the same model to find out the most proper VMI decisions in different supplier levels¡¦ conditions. This paper obtained some conclusions. First, the firm using VMI under uncertain demand would take more advantages than under certain demand. Second, we can find the best VMI strategy of a firm.
