有鑒於「聯合貸款」之特殊結構所衍生出的「借款公司」與「主貸銀行」間的資訊不對稱問題，在此資訊不對稱的前提之下，銀行往來關係便顯得重要，「主貸銀行」透過往來關係的建立來蒐集「借款公司」之私有資訊，進而將其反映在「聯合貸款」的條件之上，如借款利率、借款金額及抵押品的要求。然而已存的研究通常使用LPC或Dealogic為其研究資料來源，但是此二資料庫皆以「聯合貸款」資料為大宗，所包含的「一般貸款」資料相對較少，在此情況之下，所能夠衡量的往來關係強度有其侷限性，因此本研究加入台灣經濟新報 ( TEJ ) 所收錄之台灣借款公司之一般貸款資料，重新加以衡量「主貸銀行」與「借款公司」間往來關係強度，並以此作為衡量兩者之間資訊不對稱的嚴重程度。本研究發現，當「主貸銀行」與「借款公司」的往來關係長度越長時，銀行將提供更大的貸款金額，在擔保品的要求上亦將較為寬鬆，但在借款利率的影響上則較不顯著。 / This paper empirically explores the issues in the syndicate loan markets, with an emphasis on how information asymmetry between lenders and borrowers influences syndicate contract terms, which include loan price, loan amount and collateral requirement. Existing literature uses LPC and Dealogic datasets to estimate bank-firm relationship, but most of the loan data in these two datasets are syndicated loans and bilateral loan data is relatively sparse. I use Taiwan’s data which contain many bilateral loan data to re-estimate bank-firm relationship in this thesis. The empirical results show that, borrowing from relationship lender increases loan amount and decreases collateral requirement but the effect on loan price is insignificant in Taiwan.

The contract to lease of these lands at the international investor group stimulated the production of several journalistic texts, whose reading allows to specify what was the position of the federal Government on the Bolivian region, then occupied by Brazilians, characterizing the borders between the two Nations and recognize what versions the historiography of the Acre has taken on the theme.

Orientador: Antonio Thomaz Júnior / Resumo: Buscamos com essa pesquisa, ressaltar a importância de se estudar a questão de gênero, sob a perspectiva geográfica. Para isso delimitamos o espaço do sindicato como forma de demonstrar como se dá as relações de poder entre os sexos. Por meio das composições das diretorias, percebemos que as mulheres tendem a ocupar cargos secundários, haja vista que o sindicato, assim como o espaço político e público em geral, são ocupados primordialmente pelos homens. Enquanto que, apesar das mudanças, tem permanecido unicamente às mulheres, a responsabilidade da manutenção da casa e da reprodução da força-de-trabalho para o capital, formado pelo marido, filhos e de si própria. Pudemos perceber um distanciamento entre as trabalhadoras e a diretoria dos sindicatos, ao não adotarem políticas voltadas à questão da mulher e de sua maior participação nos sindicatos. Até mesmo porque, tendo em vista o processo de reestruturação produtiva, onde as mulheres têm se inserido no mercado de trabalho informal, diminuindo o número de trabalhadoras ligadas ao sindicato e de potenciais quadros políticos. Mas também pela própria política adotada, de manutenção da estrutura sindical, extremamente deficiente em termos de políticas voltadas para as questões que fogem da seara de políticas emergenciais. Esse processo se agrava a ponto das trabalhadoras não conseguirem identificar o sindicato a que pertence, bem como uma certa aversão por questões políticas e que envolvem seu próprio cotidiano. / Abstract: With this research we seek to emphasize the importance of studying the gender question under the geographic perspective. For this it was delimited the space of the syndicate as form to demonstrate the power relationships between the genders. By compositions of the directions, we perceived that the woman tend to occupy secondary positions, seeing that the syndicate, as well as the politician space and public in general are occupied by primordially by the men. While that, despite the changes, it has remained only to the woman the responsibility of the maintenance of the house and the reproduction of the force-of-work for the capital, formed by husband, children and proper herself. And aloofness is perceives between the workers and direction of the syndicates, when they haven't adopted politics directed to the participation in the syndicates, even in view of the process of the productive reorganization, in which the woman have inserted in the market of the informal work, deadly diminishing the number of the works of syndicates and potential politics system. But also for proper politics adopted of maintenance of the syndical structure, extremely deficient in terms of politics directed toward the questions that run away from seara of emergency politics. This process aggravates, turning point of the woman don't get one that belongs, as well as a certain aversion to politics question that involved theirs properly everyday. / Mestre

Organisations today are working in an increasingly competitive environment where business success rests on the ability to make high quality decisions. Consequently, comprehensive knowledge about the organisation itself as well as the market in which it operates is required. Data warehouse (DW)-based business intelligence (BI) solutions can fulfil this need by integrating data from internal and external sources to provide useful insights that will assist organisational key-players in their decision-making. The specific incorporation of syndicate data (which is a type of external data) is particularly important because it enriches data content and maximises its full value. Although previous research strongly indicates that supplementing internal data with SD enhances the decision capabilities of an organisation and gives it a competitive edge in the marketplace, the literature on SD incorporation itself is of a very limited scope. Therefore, the aim of this work is to explore current practices in SD incorporation into DW-based BI solutions. A questionnaire study on the identification, acquisition, integration and usage of SD was conducted with BI consultants. Besides confirming that SD integration into DW-based BI solutions is common, the results also provide insights on how to identify SD suppliers, different data acquisition approaches, data distribution methods, integration approaches, types of SD, and SD application areas that are being used. Propositions for future work, which will extend the findings accounted for in this work, are also included.

The initial public offering (IPO) underpricing phenomenon has frequently been noticed and generally is accepted as a puzzle in financial economics. Some of the new theories, such as behavioural finance, take the underpricing puzzle as one important form of evidence. However, some aspects of IPO underpricing have not yet been fully documented and discussed in the existing literature. This thesis tries to contribute in the following three specific areas. First, we focus on the time series properties of the level of underpricing of IPO shares and document the IPO market in the Hong Kong market from 1999 to 2005. In the data sample, strong autocorrelation within the level of underpricing has been discovered. Evidence suggests the initial selling volume plays an important role in the relationship. The links between underpricing and clustering of IPOs within different industries are weak, suggesting the reasons for underpricing are related to the market liquidity rather than to the industry-specific risk characteristics. Second, we investigate the underwriting networks to explore the relationship between underwriting business and IPO related puzzles. We find that in repeated IPOs, underwriters build up reputation and accumulate knowledge of their underwriting services. One of the great advantages of the top ranked underwriters is their relationship networks with other underwriters and institutional investors. We perform a careful examination of the underwriter syndicate and investigate the relationship of the structure of the syndicate in respect of IPO performance. Moreover, the pattern of distribution in the size of syndicates is identified and is found to be significantly related to the IPO performance. The research shows that the perspective from the underwriter syndicate is not only interesting, also necessary to understand IPOs. Third, we analyse the coordination problem in the IPO. In the research, we consider the auction method as a one-stage selling and the bookbuilding method as a two-stage selling method. The model suggests that the relationship between the underpricing level and the quality of IPO shares is non-monotone. This implication is consistent with empirical observations. In addition, regarding the issuers' proceeds in the IPOs, the auction method is better than the bookbuilding method in both noisy and noisy vanishing equilibria. The bookbuilding method may be helpful in other ways, such as maintaining liquidity or price support in secondary market. By studying liquidity, business networks and the coordination problem, the thesis does not only complement the existing research by providing unique explanations for the IPO underpricing and other related puzzles, but also opens some interesting venues for future research.
