Educação de adultos presos: possibilidades e contradições da inserção da educação escolar nos programas de reabilitação do sistema penal no Estado de São Paulo / Education of adult inmates: possibilities and contradictions with the introduction of schooling education in the rehabilitation programs inside the penal system in São Paulo State.

Portugues, Manoel Rodrigues 15 May 2001 (has links)
This work consists in an attempt to investigate the possibilities and contradictions when schooling education for transformation of the individuals punished is constituted as one of the aspects pertaining to the prison operation. As a point of deflection after a ten-year professional trajectory working for the Educational Program in the penal system of São Paulo State, this work intends to systematize several thoughts and questionings formerly oriented to consolidate an education proposal particularly driven to the population incarcerated. The prisons, its rules, procedures and values observe absolute primary attention to the domination and control of the mass incarcerated. Therefore, the maintenance of internal order and discipline is transfigured to the essential goal of the penal organization. The so-called re-educational programs and activities are inserted in this functional logic, having their actions and objectives based on the need of subjugating the people punished, by adapting them to the social system inside the prison. Nevertheless, prisoners resistance to the control is evident. By no means education is neutral in such a process (battle) of subjugation and resistance. Its methodological basis and daily practises can contribute to sediment school as a subsequent resource for the preservation and formation of individuals in the interstices of the domination processes. This research aims to draw possibilities so that the prerogatives of prison administration shall not invade the educational practice, ruling its actions. Therefore, theres need to introduce the Education Program for Adult Inmates along with its congenial programs in a national approach, with the view of effecting its organization on educational and not incarcerating basis.

Ajala, Oyewole Olayioye 05 1900 (has links)
The purposes of this study are to describe the past and the present system of secondary education in Western Nigeria; to examine the goals, achievements, and failures with special consideration for three distinct periods: (1) prior to the arrival of the British people in Western Nigeria, (2) between 1842 and 1960, and (3) between 1960 and 1976; to formulate generalizations about secondary schools, and to offer suggestions for the improvement of the secondary educational system in Western Nigeria. One recommendation that the study makes calls for mass secondary education, not education of the elite only. The recommendations call for programs that would lead to industrial and technological progress.

A study of achievement, attitudes, teaching practices and learning environments in secondary school science laboratory classes in Papua New Guinea

Waldrip, Bruce Gordon January 1994 (has links)
The study combined qualitative methods (observation, interview and case study techniques) and quantitative methods (use of questionnaire and survey instruments) methods to (a) identify and describe current teaching practices in Papua New Guinea (PNG) secondary science laboratory classrooms; (b) investigate the effect of specific teaching practices on academic success on an external science achievement examinaton; and (c) investigate whether an educational productivity model for investigating factors associated with learning is applicable to a developing country context, namely, PNG. Analysis of data from 3,182 Papua New Guinea secondary students, generated revealed similar science laboratory learning environments across most high schools with Open-Endedness having the lowest score. Overall students' attitudes towards science were favourable, with boys having a more favourable attitudes than girls. Multivariate analyses showed that science academic achievement, science practical achievement and attitudes were related to quality and quantity of instruction, the science laboratory learning environment and gender. As in similar studies in other countries, male students performed significantly better than female students in external science achievement examinations. But female students achieved significantly better on a practical science process test. Finally, the study identified some specific aspects of current teaching practices in a developing country context, involving science learning environments and students' attitudes towards science.

Mokomųjų dalykų edukacinės kokybės rodikliai bendrojo lavinimo vidurinėje mokykloje / The Quality Indicators at Secondary School Education

Gadeckienė, Rūta 26 September 2008 (has links)
[toliau žr. visą tekstą] / The following problem of Lithuanian education system policy is enunciated in the master thesis: although the quality of education is referred as one of the most important priorities in the education policy, there is no unanimous agreement about the quality of education itself and the criteria to measure it. The acts of Lithuanian Republic defining the priorities of education system were analyzed. On purpose to specify the conception of quality at secondary school education, the analysis of works by Lithuanian and foreign authors was performed. The hypothesis stated by the author in the study is confirmed. According to the author, the system of education monitoring indicators developed by the state to measure the quality of education is insufficient as far as the subjects at secondary school are concerned. Moreover, the school is analyzed as a separate unit of the education system while the internal and external audit is being accomplished there. Besides, the results of both the internal and external audit are not reflected in the state’s system of education monitoring indicators. According to objects the author proposed to herself, the inferences of the study are drawn. The quality of education is the whole of features, characterizing educational institution as the multiple unit of the education system which existence of quality is referred to teaching and learning environment, instructional aids, qualified educators, school and extra-curricular activities, the achievements... Higher Education and National Development: The Response of Higher Education Institutions in Malawi (2000-2010)

Felix Benson Mwatani Editor Lombe January 2013 (has links)

Theoretically, the role of higher education in national development has become clearer than before, while empirically the evidence is overwhelming. Elsewhere in the world, countries that have made tremendous strides in both social and economic development invested heavily and strategically in higher education. In Malawi, the role of higher education in national development has always been recognised by development policies since independence in 1964 However, with the exception of the first 15 years of independence, Malawi&rsquo / s development path has registered abysmal results both on the social and the economic fronts despite undergoing significant socio-economic and political reforms. Malawi remains one of the most underdeveloped countries whether judged by Gross National Product (GNP) per capita, the UNDP&rsquo / s Human Development Index (HDI) or the Human Poverty Index (HPI). One of the factors that is considered as having contributed to low levels of development is the performance of education systems (primary, secondary and higher education) (World Bank, 2009).It is against this background that this study sought to examine how Malawi&rsquo / s higher education institutions (HEIs) have responded to their roles as prescribed by the national development policies with a focus on the period between 2000 and 2010. Four questions guided the study: i) what specific roles do national development policies define for HEIs to ensure that higher education contributes to national development? ii) To what extent are these roles performed by HEIs in Malawi? iii) What factors determine the performance of HEIs in their expected roles? iv) What pattern of response to their (HEIs&rsquo / ) expected roles can be identified? Theoretically and analytically, the study was informed by the two perspectives of the open systems theory, namely the resource-dependency approach and neo-institutional approach. These two approaches contend that actions by organisations are limited and influenced by various pressures and demands emanating from their internal and external environments and that organisations often respond accordingly in order to survive. Methodologically, the study employed a mixed-method design (of qualitative and quantitative) with a dominant usage of qualitative methods. A multiple case study approach was used in which data were collected through unstructured interviews, semi-structured interviews and documentary review. For qualitative data, the analysis was done using a text method while quantitative data were analysed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and Microsoft Excel to provide simple descriptive analysis through charts, tables and graphs. Overall, the study found that Malawi development policies expect HEIs to enhance access, equity, relevance, efficiency and quality of higher education as a way of ensuring that higher education contributes to the national development project. However, the study identified several patterns of response by HEIs (towards these expected roles) that tentatively explain the sub-optimal contribution of higher education in national development. These patterns of response include: inclination towards responding to the politically sensitive crises in the higher education system (for public HEIs) and profit-compatible roles (for private HEI) / use of sub-standard resources and methods antithetical to genuine teaching and learning / duplication by private HEIs of the &ldquo / soft&rdquo / roles being undertaken by public HEI / the abandonment of some of the HEIs&rsquo / original ideals and founding pledges, which are compatible with national development roles / and substitution of long-term coherent academic planning by short-term survival strategies. The study presents a number of implications, lessons and recommendations in the area of higher education and development. These include: the need for the government to recognise the importance and impact of intra-sectoral linkages in the entire education system on the performance of HEIs / the need to enforce the effective participation of private and public HEIs in national developmental project by establishing a proper regulatory framework / the need to enhance regional and internal collaboration among universities if they are to effectively respond to national roles / the need to reduce marginalisation of HEIs by maximising efforts that create linkages with the productive sector / the need to devise a robust public financing mechanism that broadly deals with issues of equity, relevance, quality and access of higher education / and the need to match education investment priorities and sequencing with development policies

&nbsp /

&nbsp /

&nbsp /

Vzdelávací systém zdravotníckych záchranárov ČR a SR pre riešenie mimoriadnych udalostí s hromadným postihnutím osôb / Education system of paramedics Czech Republic and Slovak Republic to deal with emergencies caused by accidents with mass disability of people

KMECOVÁ, Anna January 2017 (has links)
Accidents with mass disability of people occur more and more. No matter if they are of a natural or human origin they are still a burden for both the rescuers and the civilian inhabitants. They have a huge impact on the social and economic aspects of the society. It si inevitable to be ready for such incidents in a sufficient way and thus keep the impact on the human health, lives and property as small as posssible. The purpose of this thesis is to analyse the education of paramedics in the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic in three dimensions. First of all it is a complementary overview of the school education within the bachelor college study. The second level is addressing the providers of paramedical care and services and compiling an overview of the education at both the teoretical and practical level carried out for their employees. The third part consists of a summary of the current possibilities of individual education provided by conferences, competitions and trainings within associations or organizations. The thesis consists of 4 theoretical chapters and 3 chapters in the empirical part. In the theoretical part we define the medicine of disasters, massive accidents, incidents with a massive inflictions of persons, the sorting system START and others. We talk about the history and current practise of interventions within massive incidents. We also describe the occupation of a paramedic from the perspective of his/her competence, operation of a rescue service and methods of education. We focused mainly on trainings which are the most frequent form along with lectures. In the practical part we analyse the education of paramedics within schools by the means of the content and time. Based on the received questionaires we compare activities which are provided by paramedical care providers for the purpose of education, training and readiness of health care workers for the interventions with a large number of victims. The practical usage we illustrate in casuistics. We summarise a database of congresses, competitions and trainings carried out in given areas in the CR and SR. This thesis can be used as a base in the area of improving the education of paramedics in the area of emergency incidents for schools and paramedical services providers or the needs of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education. The differences found between the subjects or republics can be motivating for further progress of education. There is also space for removing all the found imperfections or development of new methods of educating.

Vzdělanostní struktura a její vliv na trh práce v České republice a Velké Británii

Procházková, Ivana January 2007 (has links)
