The Impact of Raising Attitude Toward Video Technology on Pet Business Sectors¡¦ Use Intention:A Technology Acceptance Model (TAM)-Based Study

Lin, Tsai-tung 02 September 2011 (has links)
The past research concerning pets mostly focused on the assistance rendered by pets. Due to the climate of lesser child and never-go marry, more and more people treat pets like their children indeed. What they care does not limit to practical purposes such as guard and accompany, but also the pet¡¦s needs. They are willing to offer their pets all sorts of foods, goods and services so that their pets are happy with. On the other hand, the video technology reaches its maturity and is widely applied to mobile communication, house monitoring, and kindergarten monitoring. In addition, such technology is accessed to pet hotels, pet parlors, pet sitters and pet clinics where the pet owners can surf on their 3G phones to watch their pets at any time. This study aims to explore the pet owners¡¦ recognition of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and use intention in terms of video technology. This study is based on the framework of TAM, using raising attitude as external variable whereas subjective norm as independent variable to willingness to use. The questionnaires were sent to the pet owners through random sampling in Taiwan. 481 copies were retrieved and conducted SPSS and AMOS analysis. The findings indicate that all hypotheses are validated except two hypotheses- one is the pet owners ¡¥s mental propensity toward their pets is not related to the perceived ease of use of video technology, the other is perceived ease of use is not related to use intention. Therefore, the results confirm that¡G1. The feelings of the pet owners for their pets incur positive impact on their recognition toward the perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use of video technology, 2. With subjective norm, the pet owners are more willing to use video technology. 3. If video technology facilitated easy caring for pets, the pet owners could easily recognize its perceived usefulness. 4. If the pet owners consider video technology perceived usefulness for keeping their pets, they have no intention to use such device to care about their pets. 5. For pet business sectors, it is imperative to make use of video technology in order to convince the pet owners of its conveniences which can be always appealing to the pet owners.

A Study on Factors Affecting Usage of Web-based Teachers¡¦ Training in Elementary and High School

Huang, Hsin-Yi 12 June 2002 (has links)
ABSTRACT The main purpose of this study is to investigate the usage of web-based teachers' training in elementary and high school. This study adopts motivational orientations and TAM to explore the related factors that affect the usage of web-based teachers' training. The study depends on literature analysis and uses the questionnaire to collect data. A total of 658 subjects attending teachers' training courses are from K12 Digital School. The collected data is processed and analyzed with SPSS for Windows 10.0, and statistical methods adopted in this study are descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, regression analysis and so on. The main findings show that there are 8 motivational orientations for web-based teachers' training and motivational orientations are significant differences among subjects in different age, status, school level and teaching years. Furthermore, computer self-efficacy, social relationships and attitude toward using will significantly affect the usage of web-based teachers' training positively, and perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use toward web-based training system will significantly affect attitude. As for perceived ease of use toward web-based training system, it will significantly affect perceived usefulness toward web-based training system and be affected by computer self-efficacy positively. Finally, based on the research findings, this study proposes conclusions and suggestions for the related organizations and the follow-up research.

S100A10 FACILITATES THE TUMOR PROMOTING ASSOCIATION OF MACROPHAGES WITH TUMOR CELLS

Phipps, Kyle 17 August 2011 (has links)
Hematopoietic cells are recruited to and co-opted by the growing tumor making expansive tumor growth possible. Although several cell types become associated with the growing tumor, macrophages play a fundamental role. The movement of macrophages across the basement membrane and through the extracellular matrix to the tumor site requires the activation of proteases, such as plasmin, at their cell surface. The proteolytic aspect of macrophage recruitment may represent an exploitable aspect of tumor growth in terms of therapeutic strategies. Here I show that the S100A10 protein facilitates the infiltration of macrophages into the site of tumor growth by stimulating the generation of the protease plasmin at their surface. Using a mouse model in which wild-type (WT) and S100A10-null mice are inoculated with tumor cells, a decrease in tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) and greatly diminished tumor growth in tumors grown in S100A10-null mice was observed. Although tumor growth in S100A10-null mice could be restored by intraperitoneal injection of WT macrophages, S100A10-null macrophages only restored tumor growth when directly injected into the tumor. Lastly, selective depletion of macrophages from a WT mouse by liposome encapsulated clodronate treatment resulted in similar tumor growth deficits as in the S100A10-null mouse. These results highlight a new role for the S100A10 protein in the recruitment of TAMs to the tumor site and demonstrate a potential therapeutic strategy in which the tumor associated cells may be targeted.

Ahlström, Ida, Dahl, Magnus January 2014 (has links)
Today, one of the foremost tools used by the library staff is the library catalogue search tools. It has come to our understanding that some library staff are dissatisfied with how the search tools works. The aim of this study is to illuminate the library staff's negative experiences of the search tools, and to present a basis for future discussion and development. To our help we have used a quantitative survey which were sent to library staff that used one of the two largest integrated library systems in Sweden, BOOK-IT and Mikromarc. The questions regarded the library staff's perception of a number of features in the search tools. The results showed that in general, the overall impression of the catalogue search tools were positive, even though dissatisfaction with specific features could be observed, e.g. the system's way of handling misspellings and the ability to search the catalogue when the system is offline. This study can be seen as a small step on the way to better search tools in the library catalogue, giving the library staff better and more effective ways of providing service to the library users.

Fredriksson, Anna, Sandberg, Rebecka January 2020 (has links)

What affects the acceptance of technology among miners? : A quantitative study about attitude and acceptance of positioning technology and technology that registers your state of health.

Sellin, Helena, Lundberg, Sanna January 2022 (has links)
