Working with spontaneous communication : A workplace study on the use of technical tools and social praxis in the collaborative work at two smaller design-companies.Norman, Caroline, Calancea, Diana January 2009 (has links)
<p>This paper presents the results of a workplace study of two smaller companies in the design industry. The core issue has been to investigate the companies use of technical tools and to what extent social praxis influence the daily work. The methods used are based on a qualitative analysis of interviews and observations. Various kind of work procedures, such as verbal and computerized, have been identified, but the most important occurrence was how spontaneous conversations between employees required certain flexibility, since the actors repeatedly were required to change focus and quickly perceive different information. For that reason, a thesis has been defined regarding how the use of spontaneous communication put an indirect need of a flexible working environment and also how this lead to more significant participation and exchange of information, as well as more awareness at the companies.</p>

Hybridföreläsningar inom datavetenskap: En fallstudie om tekniska verktyg och deltagarnas upplevelse / Hybrid Lecture in Computer Science: A Case Study on Technical Tools and Participants’ ExperienceWindahl, Cassandra, Kroon, Filip January 2023 (has links)
Studenterna delades slumpmässigt in i två lika stora grupper. / During the COVID-19 pandemic many institutions were forced to adapt distance learning, which subsequently became a widely accepted learning modality. This shift has contributed to an increase in other forms of education and has as a result become more common, including hybrid education. However, there is a lack of information and research in regard to how hybrid education should be implemented to ensure a good experience for everyone involved. Because of the technical advancements there are multiple technical tools to choose from that can be used when designing hybrid educations. Though, there is a lack of information in regard to how these technical tools can be used and what their effects are on the experience. This study examines a form of hybrid education where students can participate both in class, and online at the same time. Previous research on this format primarily focuses on students participating online. The aim of this study is therefore to provide insights into which tools and how their usage might impact the use of a successful hybrid lecture for all participants. The aim is also to investigate how the experiences of both groups may differ. To address these questions, a case study was conducted based on three separate lectures in a computer science course at Malmö University. The three lectures all had different conditions and were equipped in different ways. Each lecture, labeled Case 1, Case 2 & Case 3, varied in terms of technical equipment and design. The students that participated in the case study were randomly assigned to either the distance or in-person group to ensure equally large groups, maintaining the same format for all lectures. The gathering of data was conducted through questionnaires that the students were asked to answer after each finished lecture as well as a final questionnaire during the last lecture. The authors also observed all lectures. A focus group was also conducted with a group of students as well as an interview with the lecturer. The findings revealed from these methods show that it can be challenging to design a hybrid lecture with the technical tools that have been studied where both groups of students and the lecturer feel satisfied. However, the results indicate what technical tools and to what extent they should be used to ensure a lecture where low satisfaction is opposed. As a direct consequence, it has also been determined which technical tools and in what form should be avoided, as this leads to a large proportion of participants having a negative experience.

Les outils langagiers, iconiques et plastiques de la presse écrite française et leur rôle dans l’éducation aux médias inhérente au choix de vote des campagnes présidentielles en France : une étude exploratoire de couvertures de journaux selon leurs promesses discursives et évolution identitaire de 2007 à 2017 / Linguistics, iconics and plastics tools of language of the french print press and their part in the media education related to vote choice about french presidential campaigns : an exploratory study of covertures’ pictures of newspapers depending on their promises discursives and identity evolution start from 2007 to 2017Madiba, Marie-Sophie 11 December 2018 (has links)
The aim of this research is to analyze and interpret form of construction, providing and appropriation of senses and meanings of mediatic languages tools about presidential campaigns of 2007, 2012 and 2017 through the french newspapers. Firstly, we wanted to know how can linguistic, iconic and plastic tools of the first page of newspapers can be considered like technictools with the aim of the presidential choice during the period 2007 and 2012. Secondly, we wanted to find out how media language tools can contribute to be psychological and technic through the representations and appropriation of mediatic messages by students in Education Science during the presidential campaign 2017? On the one hand, we have planned to analyze, compare and interpret network relation between construction and providing of tools language used by the newspapers to present presidential campaigns during two historic periods. On the other hand, a complementary study has allowed us to analyse and interpret the representations and appropriation of mediatic messages by students in Education Science. On the theoretical aspect; we based our research on historical-cultural theory of Vygotski (1985), the concept of artefact (Rabardel, 1995), media education theories, concept of frame (Goffman, 1995), the network-actor theory (2007). On the methodological aspect, we have chosen a qualiquantitative method (with the softwares CHIC, Tropes, Iramuteq), a content (Bardin, 1993) anddiscourse (Maingueneau, 2014) analysis methods of language tools of first page of newspapers. We opted for a cross-cultural approach including statistical implicative analysis, a psychosocio-semio-linguistic, semiological and pragmatic approaches. The corpus have been made up of 239 newspapers editions, 293 pictures of the first coverture of french newspapers (20 Minutes, Métro, Lyon Plus, Le Figaro, Le Monde, et Le Progrès) and 15 interviews collected from students in Education Science. The results show that media language tools can be established as technical tools through the introduction of different mechanisms, natural and social frames of conceptualization, through a hightlighting types of discourse (stative, declarative, narrative and argumentative). Heuristics and pragmatics schemes are mainly requested in 2007 than epistemics schemes which have been reinforced in 2012. The analysis of tools made for the spread of formal and informal mediatic kwnowledges or news aboutpresidential campaigns show that the thought is built and it is developed depending on sociohistorical context with form of actualisation, novelty, and redundancy. The taking into account of social, symbolic, private, conscious, onconscious dimension is involved to the mediatic tools appropriation but also with the practices of students in the construction of their decisions. Theanalysis and the interpretation of the apropriation of mediatic messages by the students in Education Science demonstrate that the consultation and the appropriation of this fulfill more a cognitive, conative than behavioural needs.

Ett teknologiskt situationsanpassat lärsystem / A technological situational learning systemHeed Södergren, Emma, Kottulinsky, Antonia January 2017 (has links)
In this paper we present our research on learning in event organizations since we haveconcluded that there is no research on this topic. We have chosen a qualitative researchstrategy with multiple case studies where we used semi-structured interviews to go into depthin the event organizations we have studied. The research overview highlights the problem oflearning in organizations today and that organizations must learn to survive and to create acompetitive edge in the industry in which they are operating. Learning in organizationsdepends on their employees and if they may not develop within the organization they will notbecome further motivated. Our research shows that event organizations learn subsequentlyand take the situation as it comes through learning by doing primarily.Research shows that individuals learn different, and our study therefore indicates that theremust be leadership that is adapted to different situations and different learning styles. As theevent industry is time-pressed, a fully customized system will not be sustainable to managemeeting the demands of the market. Today, systems and tools for learning are inadequate toadapt to this fast-changing environment in which the organizations live. We have combinedsystems and tools that together create a more adaptable system for the time-pressed eventorganization. The system deals with an understanding of which situation the employee is in and whichpreferred way it wants to learn and thus the manager can adapt to this to get the maximumoutcome of learning. This will help managers in event organizations to better understand theiremployees, motivate them to a greater extent, thereby creating competitive advantages for thecompany. As the manager is time-pressed, our study also shows that collective learning isimportant for the effectiveness of the organization's learning. In this way, the manager doesnot always have to be the driving force in learning. Our research shows that technologicalsolutions will help the time-pressed organization to create a more collective learning and amore sustainable solution, as this is a more time-efficient tool for sharing knowledge. Whatwe present here is a contribution with a theoretical solution that is also practically feasible, unlike several previous theories. This study is written in Swedish.

Affordances d'un réseau social pour une formation en Français Langue Etrangère : pratiques discursives, modes de participation et présence sociale en ligne / Affordances in a social network for the purpose of a French as a Foreign Language course : discursive practices, means of participation and social presence onlineGrassin, Jean-Francois 06 November 2015 (has links)
This research aims at studying online interactions in a social network that is specific to teaching and learning French as a Foreign Language (FFL). It questions the way the virtual environment incorporates with the training device so to provide new contexts of interactions and language learning. The data used for this research belong to an academic and language learning context which enabled an ecological analysis of the uses.Furthermore a discourse analysis from various participants was undertaken to highlight their impressions of the device, the noticed affordances and their appropriation with the online environment. This study contributes at elaborating useful tools for the analysis of participation and a better understanding of social interactions in the case of a mediated communication in a pedagogical context. The analyses are based on (1) participative activities, their conversational and enunciative format, (2) the various participation modes and relationnal social commitment that flourishes in a socio-pedagogical network and (3) the spatial and attentionnal features that are specific to a virtual learning environment. The study shows that there are few uses of the socio-pedagogical network, and the various ones that have been noticed did not benefit from the network’s wide access, conversational and social design. As a certain number of affordances have been noted by the participants, few of them were used in the case of our study. Considering those limited uses, the analysis tries to spot the restraints and obstacles to these changing practices by taking into account the participant’s discourse and suggested activities. From this observation, the research suggests didactical guidelines that include this social and relational challenge - and to consider this socio-pedagogical network as an environment which mediates social activities and digital litteracy.
