POLUIÇÃO COMO TEMÁTICA PARA CONSTRUÇÃO DO CONHECIMENTO QUÍMICO DE REAÇÕES REDOX SOB UMA PERSPECTIVA CTSA / POLLUTION AS A THEME FOR CONSTRUCTION OF CHEMICAL KNOWLEDGE OF REDOX REACTIONS UNDER A PERSPECTIVE STSE

Klein, Sabrina Gabriela 08 January 2016 (has links)
Fundação de Amparo a Pesquisa no Estado do Rio Grande do Sul / In search of a distinctive chemical education, with meaning for social and productive life of young high school students, the present study investigates how the theme "pollution" may facilitate the construction of the teaching and learning process of redox reactions content of high school students under a STSE (Science-Technology-Society-Environment) approach. For this, firstly, we sought theoretical references about the conceptual part of redox reactions and the theme "pollution". Then, we conducted an analysis of papers published in the journal Chemistry at the New School , with the intention of investigating how the redox reactions have been explored, their different approaches and their impact on the teaching of chemistry. From this, we developed a proposal to approach the redox reactions in the classroom, which was assessed through interventions with the second year high school students from a public school of Santa Maria, RS. Interventions in the classroom were carried out in two steps, both based on the methodology of the three pedagogical moments. The first developed inorganic redox content associated with the pollution of soil, whereas the second involved some organic redox reactions through the water pollution, specifically the treatment of effluents. This is a qualitative research. To collect data, we use questionnaires and textual productions, they were analyzed according to the Discursive Textual Analysis. The results allowed us to conclude that the development of redox reactions associated with the theme "pollution" by a STSE perspective favored teaching and learning of chemistry, as we observe an improvement in the construction of students knowledge.

The activity of turmeric in Mara Rosa received assistance from public and private institutions since 1997, when the executive power of the municipality and the Association of Small Farmers in the region of Pastinho sought the Federal University of Goias to promote the development of the productive chain of turmeric in Goias. In 2004, after the creation of the Permanent Working Group for Local Production, created by the Federal Government, was established the Local Productive Arrangement (LPA) of turmeric in the municipality of Mara Rosa, made possible by the large number of producers of turmeric, in around 300, and the tradition of growing the crop in the region. The objective of this study is to understand the social, technological, economic and environmental changes occurred in LPA turmeric postinstitutional interventions. The theoretical studies were carried out previously directed to agribusiness turmeric authors Milhomem & Teixeira (1998), Marinozzi (2002) and Noronha (2003). The research was based on data collected directly from participants in the agribusiness of turmeric in the region. The survey found that the average yield per hectare had increased up to 50.0% and gross margin achieved by producers in the increased activity of turmeric. The study concludes that the interventions implemented and under implementation in the region have promoted the social, economic and technological producers of turmeric, with the need to adopt new practices in order to preserve the environment / O município de Mara Rosa está localizado no estado de Goiás e é conhecido como a capital brasileira do açafrão por ser o maior produtor da cultura em Goiás e no Brasil. O objetivo do trabalho é conhecer as mudanças sociais, tecnológicas, econômicas e ambientais ocorridas no APL do açafrão pós-intervenções institucionais.

Further study of Life Cycle Assessment of a high density data center cooling system – Teliasonera’s “Green Room” concept : Identification of improvement possibilities using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and discussion about the effect of the choice of Life Cycle Impact Assessment (LCIA) methods on the results

Wang, Shan January 2013 (has links)
The growing industry of Information and Communication Technology requires higher computing capacity of data centers. The air conditioning in data centers is a key to assure a sustainable computing environment. However, the traditional cooling systems cost large environmental footprints especially on energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. As a result, a green innovation of data center cooling solutions is taking place. The telecommunication company Teliasonera is developing a high density data center cooling system - the “Green Room” and has been studying the environmental performance of this system using a Life Cycle approach. As an extension of the previous study, more aspects of the project i.e. the location of the data center, life span, alternative cooling solutions, energy recovery possibilities and uncertainty analysis is explored using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology. The comparison of locations of the Green Room indicates that the local temperature and electricity production sources are essential factors for the environmental performance of the Green Room. The analysis of the Green Room’s life span reveals that the utilization phase may not always cause the most significant impact during the whole life cycle of the Green Room. If the life span changes, the manufacture phase may predominate the life cycle of the Green Room. The comparative result of alternative cooling technologies addresses that utilizing “natural coolant” (e.g. geo cooling) is a key for sustainable cooling innovation as it could significantly reduce the environmental footprint of the cooling system. Besides, heating a single building (partly) by the waste heat generated from the Green Room could save 30% of cumulative energy input and could reduce more than half of the total environmental impact. Additionally, results uncertainties caused by the choice of different LCIA methods are discussed in the end of the study. / Teliasonera's Green Room concept

Införandet av ny teknologi: Data Virtualization inom nordiska organisationer : En kvalitativ kartläggning över vilka faktorer som är avgörande för införandet av Data Virtualization / The adoption of new technology: Data Virtualization within Nordic organizations : A qualitative mapping of which factors are decisive for the adoption of Data Virtualization

Hygstedt Falk, Engla, Wartmark, Erica January 2023 (has links)
Data is today a central resource in many organizations and the amount of data increases every year. This could result in organizations being influenced to search for new technologies that can give them opportunities to make data-driven decisions on a larger scale. The technology that this study investigates is Data Virtualization (DV) since there is a clear research gap regarding why organizations choose to implement DV. The study uses the TOE framework with the purpose of mapping what makes organizations decide to implement DV. The study's data collection method is semi-structured interviews where four respondents from different companies in the Nordics were interviewed. The empirical data was analyzed to identify which factors were important for the implementation of DV. The result showed that the adoption decision of Nordic organizations is influenced by factors that have already been determined by previous research. These factors are: relative advantage, testability, roles and skills, top management support and external support. Finally, two new factors have also been identified as important for the implementation of DV: size and distribution of data and, in specific cases, reorganization.

Drivkrafter som påverkaradoptionsbeslutet av ERP-system hos SME

Vähäkuopus, Joel, Tekleab, Simon January 2023 (has links)
The rapid changes in the global economy have imposed high pressure on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and their operations. Many SMEs have realized how important it is to integrate all units in the business by introducing Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP systems).    The adoption decision phase in ERP systems is an early phase and is often confused with implementation, which is a major cause of failure. This confusion can especially hit hard on small and medium-sized companies that may lack sufficient resources. The adoption decision phase can be particularly crucial in such case. The purpose of this study is to investigate which driving forces that influence the adoption decision phase of ERP systems within SMEs. The Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) theoretical framework was used to create a theoretical foundation for finding drivers from previous research.   Semi-structured interviews were then conducted with six ERP consultants. Respondents' responses were analyzed thematically, and 12 themes were identified as driving forces. These could then be compared with previous research. The driving forces identified were management and decision makers, benefits and efficiency, functionality, regulations and security, competition and the future, industry type and complexity, education and competence, finance and resources, supplier and solutions, integration with existing systems, maintenance and support, and challenges and uncertainty. The driving forces that were identified but could not be linked to previous research were functionality, and challenges and uncertainty.   Keywords: Adoption decision, driving forces, Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP system), small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE).

Artificell intelligens inom cybersäkerhet : En studie av den svenska banksektorn / Artificial intelligence in cybersecurity : A study of the swedish banking sector

Ferlander, Ludvig, Gustavsson, Linus January 2024 (has links)
In an increasingly digitalized society, the cyber threats faced by banks have become more extensive and complex. At the same time, artificial intelligence has developed into a powerful and disruptive technology that can be used to strengthen cybersecurity and counter financial crime, among other things. The purpose of the study was to map how Swedish banks use AI to counteract cyber threats and financial crime, and what benefits and challenges this entails. The study is based on four qualitative interviews with bank officials specialized in cybersecurity or financial crime. The Technology-Organization-Environment framework is used to analyze the challenges and factors affecting the use of AI. The results show that AI models are used for several security purposes, such as preventing DDoS attacks, malware detection and identifying signs of financial crime. The main benefits of AI are the ability to analyze large amounts of data in real time and to identify patterns and anomalies that are difficult for the human eye to see. However, there are a number of challenges for Swedish banks in the adoption and use of AI related to regulation, ethics and competence.
