Disciples and discipleship in the Gospel of Mark, with particular reference to Mark's contrast between male and female disciples

Cox, Nicholas Christopher 31 January 2007 (has links)
This study is an exploration into female discipleship. Its primary aim is to compare and contrast Mark's portrayal of male and female followers of Jesus respectively, while its secondary aim is to establish what lessons there may be for the social status of Christian women in the kingdom of Swaziland. These ends will be pursued by looking at Mark's portrayal of male disciples and the contrast he draws between them and the female followers of Jesus. This study then concludes that Mark has a more positive view of female followers than he has of male disciples, and this may stem from the conduct of male disciples he has observed in the Church of his time. / New Testament / M.TH. Alexandr Blok v českých překladech. Překlad poémy Dvanáct / Czech Translations of Alexander Blok's Poem The Twelve

Oganesjanová, Lena January 2014 (has links)
The detailed comparative analysis of four Czech translations of Alexander Blok's poem The twelve is at the crux of this diploma thesis. Concurrently, it sets the assessment of translation mastery of each translation based on criteria of poetry translation as defined by the signifiant Czech theorecian Jiří Levý. Aesthetic interpretaton of the poem and the description of distinctive features of Block's poetry precede the main part of the thesis. The author comes to a conclusion only two of the translations can be called acceptable to present-day readers (Vojtěch Jestřáb's and Václav Daněk's translations). Nevertheless, the translation by Bohumil Mathesius has a certain aesthetic quality, and if it is looked at from a historical perspective it can be appraised as succeful translation work. The very first translation by young Czech poet Jaroslav Seifert satisfies current poetry translation criteria the least. But there is also an another reason for it: both the Seifert's and Mathesius's translations are greatly influenced by the former language standard (the language obsolescence manifests itself at differet levels). Yet, the latest translations differ too. Jestřáb's method focuses upon stressing exotisicm in his translation, whereas Daněk concentrates on naturalisation. Considering the fact that both...

Os 12 Estudos para violão de Francisco Mignone: um estudo de caso sobre a solução de problemas técnicos violonísticos / -

Delvizio, Cyro Mauricio 29 March 2019 (has links)
By considering music and musical performance as a problem to be solved and searching ways of facilitate this problem-solving process this research gathered many concepts or tools of problem solving as the Divergent Thinking by Joy P. Guilford (1950), the Scientific Method (mainly based in Tang, 1984), the Reflexive Thinking by John Dewey (1933), Brainstorm by Alex F. Osborn and the Heuristic (mainly by Duailibi and Simonsen, 1990) and applied then to the selected work, the 12 Guitar Studies by Francisco Mignone (1897-1986). With this approach many solutions where created for it\'s passages, and where expressed by 875 musical exemples, wishing to demonstrate how this concepts can assist the guitar problem solving process. O serialismo lírico de Luigi Dallapiccola: uma análise dos processos composicionais aplicados à ópera II Prigioniero (1944-1948) / The lyrical serialismo of Luigi Dallapiccola: an analysis of the compositional processes os the opera \'Il Prigioniero\' (1944-1948)

Votta, Roberto 31 March 2017 (has links)
The main goal of this work is observing how the Italian composer Luigi Dallapiccola works, creates and manipulates the musical material, the series and its unfolding, in the composition of the opera \"Il Prigioniero\". Because it is a dramatic work, the analysis also involves, when necessary, narrative, dramaturgical, scenographic and, consequently, psychological aspects - in approaching the characters and their interactions in history. During the research, idiosyncratic compositional processes were revealed in the way Dallapiccola works serialism when the composer derives octatonic collections from dodecaphonic series, creating harmonic and melodic complexes, interrelating antagonistic materials. To demonstrate as clearly as possible, the diversity of materials and techniques used in the creation of the opera, different analytical tools were applied, often in a complementary way, during the musical analyzes. The work is separated into three sequential chapters, in addition to the introduction and final conclusions: the first chapter introduces, in a general way, the work and technical development of the composer during his professional life; The second chapter deals with the construction of the materials that sustain the composition of the opera; And the third chapter, exposes the way the composer creates and develops the dramatic-musical composition of opera.

Forgiveness as a Positive Psychotherapy for Addiction and Suicide: Theory, Research, and Practice

Webb, Jon R., Hirsch, Jameson K., Toussaint, Loren 01 July 2015 (has links)
Both substance abuse and suicidal behavior are global public health concerns. Much of the progress made in addressing problematic substance use and suicidal ideation and behavior stems from the notion of alleviating pathological factors. Positive psychological characteristics, such as forgiveness, have received much less attention from empirical investigators. We review the extant literature pertaining to the value and role of forgiveness as an effective resource for clinicians when treating individuals struggling with substance abuse and suicidal behavior. We discuss relevant theory and research (i.e., definitions, processes, and linkages) regarding similarities in models of forgiveness, substance abuse, and suicidal behavior and conclude with an overview of various means of using the process of forgiveness as a positive psychotherapy; whether through stand-alone forgiveness interventions, infusion with Twelve-Step Facilitation Therapy, or application through acceptance-based treatment modalities. In sum, forgiveness may be an important factor in the facilitation of change in the difficult often existangst-derived struggles (i.e., emotionally and philosophically driven psychological distress) inherent to substance abuse and suicidal behavior.

Čtyřstěny a jejich vlastnosti / Tetrahedra and their properties

ČERVENKOVÁ, Kateřina January 2019 (has links)
This diploma thesis Tetrahedra and their properties summarizes the basic properties of tetrahedron. The main goal is to introduce the topic to a reader of this thesis. Author would like to provide basic information about the particular types of tetrahedra and their properties. I try to examine there a spatial analogy of selected terms of a triangle. Conditions for the existence of the orthocenter of a tetrahedron are derived. Then for a non-orthocetric tetrahedron the Monge point as its generalization is introduced. By most properties their proofs are given. In the final part worksheets for pupils of primary and secondary schools are designed. Pictures in the thesis are created in a geometrical program called GeoGebra 3D. These pictures can help the reader to understand this problem.
