A Educação a Distância foi definida por Moore e Kearsley (2012) como ensino e aprendizado planejado no qual o ensino comumente ocorre em um local diferente do aprendizado, exigindo comunicação por meio de tecnologias, bem como organização institucional diferenciada. No entanto, a busca por um modelo de educação que atendesse a tantas necessidades, passou por um longo período de pesquisas e esforços até culminar no modelo de educação a distância dos dias de hoje: a educação a distância mediada por tecnologias. Esta modalidade depende da estruturação de sistemas de EAD formados por todos os processos que operam quando ocorre o ensino e o aprendizado a distância, o que inclui o aprendizado, o ensino, a comunicação, a criação de programas e cursos, e o gerenciamento. E é neste contexto que surge a problemática deste estudo, cuja primeira preocupação está centrada nos novos elementos que surgem na gestão de uma IES com a implantação da educação a distância mediada por tecnologias. Ao mesmo tempo em que a educação a distância se desenvolve, aumenta a concorrência no setor da educação superior, o que pressiona para uma gestão profissionalizada, pautada na avaliação do desempenho organizacional e na busca por orientação estratégica. A problemática deste estudo está centrada na identificação de categorias de informações, inerentes à gestão da Educação a Distância, que do ponto de vista do docente, deveriam ser consideradas na construção de Balanced Scorecards adaptados para a gestão do desempenho organizacional de Instituições de Ensino Superior Privadas, credenciadas para as modalidades de ensino presencial e a distância. A metodologia adotada para este estudo foi o estudo de caso, desenvolvido em uma Instituição de Ensino Superior Privada credenciada para a educação superior presencial e a distância. A análise dos resultados do estudo de caso apresentou como resultados, quatro categorias de informações, totalizando 32 itens, para orientar a construção e adaptação de Balanced Scorecards para IES credenciadas para as modalidades de educação presencial e a distância: Categoria 1 - Planejamento e Elaboração de Recursos Didáticos; Categoria 2 - Acompanhamento Discente; Categoria 3 - Motivação e Habilidades Docentes; Categoria 4 - Efetividade do Sistema de EAD. / Distance Education was defined by Moore and Kearsley (2012) as teaching and planned learning in witch teaching normally occurs in different place than learning, requiring communication through technology, as well as, special institutional organization. However, the search for an educational model that suited such needs, has passes through a long period of researchs and efforts to become the distance education of today: distance education mediated by technology. This modality of education depends on the structuring of Distance Education Systems that consists of all the component processes that operate when teaching and learning at a distance occurs. It includes learning, teaching, communication, design, and management. And it is in this context that this research emerges, focusing on the new elements found on the management of Higher Education Institutions after assuming technology mediated education programs. As distance education evolves, competition increases in the Higher Education sector, what leads to a professionalized management need, based on organizational performance evaluation and on the search for strategic orientation. This research is centered on the identification of information categories, from distance education management, that from the teachers point of view, should be considered for the development and adaptation of Balanced Scorecards for private Higher Education Institutions, that offers regular and distance education programs. This study used a case study as method. The analysis of the case study results culminated in four information categories to guide the development and adaptation of Balanced Scorecards for private Higher Education Institutions, that offers regular and distance education programs: Category 1: Planning and Development of Didactic Resources; Category 2: Student Progress Monitoring; Category 3: Teachers Motivation and Skills; Category 4: Distance Education System Effectiveness.

O propósito básico deste estudo é contribuir para o debate a respeito do papel desempenhado pela Administração de Recursos Humanos nas organizações, frente aos desafios do ambiente competitivo atual. O pressuposto adotado é que a Administração de Recursos Humanos pode influenciar no desenvolvimento do capital intelectual e conseqüentemente na criação de vantagens competitivas. Para que isto aconteça, contudo, é necessário que as práticas e políticas de gestão de Recursos Humanos estejam adequadamente alinhadas com as estratégias organizacionais. Assim, este estudo busca compreender como se desenvolve e é acompanhado o processo de integração entre o Sistema de Gestão de Recursos Humanos e as estratégias organizacionais. Utilizando o método do estudo de caso, foi conduzida uma pesquisa exploratória em uma grande organização multinacional, na qual procurou-se analisar o Sistema de gestão de Recursos Humanos, conhecer o processo de desenvolvimento das estratégias de Recursos Humanos, avaliar o papel desempenhado pela área de Recursos Humanos, bem como observar os instrumentos e critérios utilizados para mensurar os resultados da área. Considerando-se as limitações impostas pelo método de pesquisa selecionado, foi possível efetuar algumas constatações importantes. O alinhamento estratégico do Sistema de Gestão de Recursos Humanos na organização estudada é produto dos seguintes fatores: das práticas e políticas, que enfatizam a geração e aplicação de conhecimento; da estrutura organizacional que possibilita a participação dos profissionais de RH no processo de formulação de decisões estratégicas da organização; bem como dos aspectos culturais internos relacionados com a valorização das pessoas e o reconhecimento de suas contribuições. / The basic objective of this study is to contribute for the debate about the role performed by the Human Resources Management within organizations, taking into consideration the challenges of the current competitive environment. The rationale is that the Human Resources Management can influence the intellectual capital development, and therefore the creation of competitive advantages. But for this to happen, it is necessary the Human Resources’ practices and policies be integrated with the organizational strategies. By using the case study method, an exploratory research was conducted in a multinational company, in which we analyzed the following aspects: The Human Resources management system; the Human Resources’ strategies development process; the role of the Human Resource area; and finally the criteria and tools used to measure the area’s results. Despite the limitations imposed by the research method, some important findings were possible to be made. The strategic Human Resource management system’s alignment within the studied organization has been a product of the following factors: the practices and policies that emphasize the knowledge development and application; the structure that allows the Human Resources professionals to participate in the organizational strategic making process; and the internal cultural aspects related to the people’s valorization and the employees’ recognition for their contribution.

The objective of the Master´s Thesis is to apply the Balanced Scorecard system in a foundry company. The theoretical part defines the strategic management, it introduces individual parts of the Balanced Scorecard system and methods for its implementation in the company. The practical part use the methods listed above and applies them to the specific company An external analysis is applied to identify the relationship between the enterprise and its surroundings As a part of the internal analysis, financial indicators are calculated and compared with other enterprises in the sector. Based on the results of analyzes, the strengths as well as the weaknesses are identified and the strategy and strategic goals are set in four perspectives. To achieve these goals, the strategic map is created as the way of expressing and communicating strategy throughout the whole company. Moreover, the final section emphasizes the need for Balanced Scorecard integration into the company's management and management system.

The purpose of this master thesis is to compare the company ContiTrade Services s.r.o. with its competitors between the years 2011 and 2014 by creating a ranking of selected tyre services. This thesis is divided into a practical section and a theoretical section. In the theoretical section are shown basic terms related to the intercompany comparison, the principles of the strategic tool Balanced Scorecard, the chosen indicators for the ranking and the methods of creating a rank within the intercompany comparison. In the practical section a spread (ROE - re), ROE, ROA, ROS, a turnover, a net profit, the amount of subsidiaries, the amount of services, an increase of tangible assets and labour costs are the basis for creating a ranking. These indicators are divided into four section according to the strategic tool Balanced Scorecard. There has been also created a complex ranking between the years 2011 and 2014 based on the above listed indicators.

The issue of the economics of cultural institutions, their economic impact, and measurement of their performance has been paid systematic attention basically only in the past few years. PhD thesis analyses the methods of performance measurement in public art museums and creates economic models. Aim of my thesis is also to create a model for museum managers to measure the performance. Nowadays it is almost necessary to integrate performance measurement system in organization´s strategy decision making. The museum managers feel the pressure to prove that their organization is performing well by various stakeholders and we perceive the idea that multidimensional performance measures could fill the informational gap concerning performance, quality, and the artistic value of cultural programs. The mixed research method was employed in this research. Qualitative data was obtained from the questionnaire and interviews. Quantitative data was obtained from the questionnaire, annual reports and reports of The National Information and Consulting Centre for Culture (NIPOS). The aim of this study is to propose a comprehensive multidimensional model to assess art museum activities. This model takes into account the scope and character of museum´s mission. This model consists of implementation of Data Envelopment Analysis into Balanced Scorecard.

This thesis deals with corporate management and measurement of strategic business performance. The main object of this thesis is to design a system for strategic management of service organization and try to apply this model in environment of chosen service. Balanced Scorecard methodology was used to achieve this objective and the metric model and strategy map of service organization is based on its principles. The first part of the thesis is aimed at theoretical aspects of corporate management and measurement of strategic business performance, so it focused on Balanced Scorecard, Business Intelligence and Corporate performance management. This part provides theoretical framework for the next part of this thesis. The next part deals with applicability of theoretical concepts at chosen service company. The objective was to implement some metrics originating from the previously constructed metric model using Business Intelligence. The outputs of this part are metric model depicted in the form of strategy map and management reports in form of graphs and tables that monitor the business performance through chosen metrics.

This dissertation thesis deals with the topic of Business Intelligence and Balanced Scorecard and its use in České odborné nakladatelství, s.r.o., a relatively small company of 29 employees, which publishes magazines about business, gastronomy, textile, foods, hotels etc. The first part of my thesis describes the BI and BSC theoretically and offers a methodical basis for the following chapters. It gives the reader a definition and structure of BI, with access to a Data Warehouse including the fundamentals of building an OLAP database. It furthermore explains what BSC is, which perspectives use and what a strategic map is. The theoretical chapters of my paper will draw conclusions about the use of BI and BSC and the links between them. The practical, hands-on, chapters continue with the actual application of BI and BSC in the afore-mentioned ČON, s.r.o. It describes the goals and ambitions of the company, which are further on divided into individual strategic goals and metrics, fragmented into perspectives of the BSC and portrayed in a strategic map. Upon analyzing the demands of the company a BI framework is created, data sources are identified, Data Warehouse are designed and brought into effect. In the end a multidimensional OLAP cube is created with MS SQL Server 2008. Finally, there is a MS Excel 2007 explanation and interpretation of the measured values (reporting), which is taken from the available sources of ČON, s.r.o. and is compared against the set strategic goals and metrics of the company. The results of this thesis are based on actual demands of the company and are ready to be implemented and used in real-life.

This thesis deals with possibilities of strategic measurement of performance in Czech industrial firm and application of distinguished metrics using Business Intelligence tools. In particular it is a firm called Linde Pohony s.r.o. that produces axes and half axes for forklifts. This thesis is based on contemporary information about strategic performance management and its tools. The main aim of this thesis is to demonstrate possibilities of using Business Intelligence in order to measure key performance metrics. Microsoft's SQL Server 2005 with its Analysis and Integration services are used to prove it. It was necessary to create model of metrics at first. First part of the thesis deals with several ways and methods how to measure firm's performance. Then a proper method to measure performance is chosen. In following chapters ways how Business Intelligence tools can contribute to industrial firms are discussed. Then the real implementation of few metrics is described following with an outline of firm's software architecture. Main contribution of this thesis is particularly in demonstrating power of Business Intelligence tools when they are used along with Balanced Scorecard methodics in small or medium sized Czech industrial firm. Also Linde Pohony s.r.o. can profit from this work -- considering that many administrative tasks are much easier and faster and management has much better view into their firm.
