«Poetic portrait in Zabolotsky’s poetry» master’s paper is an attempt at a systemic analysis of Zabolotsky’s poetry focused on category of poetic portrait. Author of this paper tries to reconstruct Zabolotsky’s own artistic worldview by reviewing poetic portraits, as well as common principles and means that create them. Poet’s attitude towards his lyric subjects is dynamic and changes over time, so the author of this paper searches for the examples of this process among the portraits. The paper consists of three parts each representing one period of poet’s work: portraits of the «Columns»; long and short poems of 1930s; ethical and philosophic direction in later poetry of 1940-50s. The author offers original classification of poetic portraits in Zabolotsky’s works. / Магистерская диссертация «Поэтическая портретистика Николая Заболоцкого» представляет собой попытку системного анализа поэзии Николая Заболоцкого через призму категории поэтического портрета. Анализируя конкретные портреты, а также принципы и средства их создания, автор диссертации пытается реконструировать индивидуально-авторскую картину мира, проследить ее движение и изменение на протяжении всей творческой жизни поэта. Соответственно выстраивается и структура работы: первая глава посвящена портретам сборника «Столбцы», вторая – портрету в стихах и поэмах 1930-х годов, третья глава представляет анализ поэзии 1940-50х годов и места портрета в этико-философской системе позднего поэта. В работе также предложена оригинальная классификация поэтической портретистики Н. Заболоцкого.

The topic of this research becomes a part of the study of different forms of authorial "Ego" in Internet texts. Blog Belonika interesting the personality of the author, and the author's unique narrative strategy. The first part is devoted to information and communication specifics of modern Russian blogosphere. The second part deals with questions of the communicative behavior and its structure, different classifications of the basic types of bloggers and understanding of characteristics of their communicative behavior. The third part is devoted to the analysis of the communicative model blogger Veronica Belotserkovskaya and set of her voice masks used to create her online identity. / Тема данного научного исследования лежит в области изучения различных форм проявления авторского «я» в интернет-текстах. Блог Belonika интересен как самой личностью автора, так и уникальной авторской нарративной стратегией. Первая часть работы посвящена информационной и коммуникативной специфике современной русской блогосферы. Во второй части рассматриваются вопросы коммуникативного поведения и его структуры, приводятся различные классификации основных типов блогеров и разбираются особенности их коммуникативного поведения. Третья часть посвящена анализу коммуникативной модели блоггера Вероники Белоцерковской и набора ее речевых масок, используемых для создания ее интернет-идентичности.

Работа посвящена созданию и апробированию исследовательской модели, позволяющей описать языковую личность кандидатов Дональда Трампа и Джозефа Байдена во время предвыборной кампании 2019-2020 гг.. Материалом для исследованиями послужили транскрипты публичных выступлений Джозефа Байдена и Дональда Трампа во временном промежутке президентской кампании 2019-2020 гг. с сайта www.rev.com. Данный ресурс содержит все публичные выступления кандидатов и предоставляет полноценный корпус текстов речей. В первой части работы рассматриваются основные направления в речевом портретировании, риторической критике, концептуальном анализе. Предлагается интегративная методика речевого портретирования, включающая в себя концептуальный и стилистический уровни. Особое внимание уделяется различным аспектам в создании речевого портрета. Во второй части работы выявляются, описываются и классифицируются доминантные концепты и средства стилистической выразительности в речи каждого из кандидатов. Также проводится сопоставительный анализ на каждом уровне исследования. Особое внимание уделяется эмотивному компоненту лингвостилистического анализа. Доминантными концептами Дж. Байдена являются: «коронавирус», «единство», «свой человек». Доминантными концептами Д. Трампа: «демократическая партия», «фэйк ньюс», «военные силы». Доминантными средствами стилистической выразительности кандидата Байдена являются: метафора, повтор, противопоставление, эпитет. Доминантные средства стилистической выразительности кандидата Трампа представлены риторическими вопросами, сослагательными конструкциями и эпитетами. Результаты исследования могут быть использованы в ряде курсов и дисциплин академического цикла: политической лингвистики, лингвоконцептологии, лингвостилистики, лингвистической персонологии, дискурсологии. / The work is devoted to the creation and testing of a research model that allows describing the linguistic personality of candidates Donald Trump and Joseph Biden during the 2019-2020 election campaign. The research material was comprised by transcripts of public speeches by Joseph Biden and Donald Trump during the 2019-2020 presidential campaign from the website www.rev.com. This resource contains all public speeches of candidates and provides a full-fledged corpus of speech texts. In the first part of the work, the main directions in speech portraiture, rhetorical criticism, and conceptual analysis are considered. An integrative method of speech portraiture is proposed, which includes conceptual and stylistic levels. Special attention is paid to various aspects in creating a speech portrait. In the second part of the work, the dominant concepts and means of stylistic expressiveness in the speech of each of the candidates are identified, described and classified. A comparative analysis is also carried out at each level of the study. Special attention is paid to the emotive component of linguistic-stylistic analysis. The dominant concepts of J. Biden's words are: "coronavirus", "unity", "your own person". The dominant concepts of D. Trump are: "the Democratic party", "fake news", "military forces". The dominant means of stylistic expressiveness of candidate Biden are: metaphor, repetition, opposition, epithet. The dominant means of stylistic expressiveness of Candidate Trump are represented by rhetorical questions, subjunctive constructions and epithets. The results of the research can be used in a number of courses and disciplines of the academic cycle: political linguistics, linguistic conceptology, linguistic stylistics, linguistic personology, discursology.

Работа посвящена изучению влияния феномена «культуры отмены» на языковую личность. Материалом исследования послужили видеоролики с непосредственным участием Давида Бабаджаняна, размещенные на YouTube-канале «ИБ». В первой части работы рассматриваются теоретические аспекты, связанные с изучением языковой личности и феноменом «культуры отмены»: описаны теории языковой личности, а также методика ее описания – речевое портретирование; рассмотрен феномен «культуры отмены», его истоки и пути реализации в современном цифровом пространстве, а также были приведены примеры канселинга. Во второй части работы проведен анализ речевого портрета видеоблогера Д. Бабаджаняна. В ходе анализа речевого портрета видеоблогера были описаны три уровня его языковой личности: тезаурусный, мотивационный и вербально-семантический. Тезаурусный уровень языковой личности Д. Бабаджаняна был проанализирован путем описания лингвокогнитивной специфики его речевого портрета: были рассмотрены особенности основных компонентов концептосферы видеоблога «ИБ». В ходе лингвопрагматического анализа мотивационного уровня языковой личности Д. Бабаджаняна были описаны коммуникативные стратегии и коммуникативные тактики, используемые видеоблогером. На вербально-семантическом уровне было проведено описание стилистической специфики речевого портрета Д. Бабаджаняна, заключавшееся в анализе его речевой манеры. В ходе анализа каждого из уровней были выделены лингвистические маркеры «культуры отмены» в речи видеоблогера. Результаты исследования могут быть использованы в качестве иллюстративного материала, отражающего влияние феномена «культуры отмены» на языковую личность. / The work is devoted to the study of the influence of the phenomenon of "cancel culture" on linguistic personality. The material of the study is represented by D. Babadjanyan’s speech works from the videos of his, posted on the “IB” YouTube channel. The first part of the work covers theoretical aspects related to the study of linguistic personality and the phenomenon of "cancel culture": theories of linguistic personality are described, as well as the method of the description of linguistic personality – speech portrait; the phenomenon of "cancel culture" is explored, its origins and ways of implementation in the modern digital space, examples of canceling are also given. The second part of the work contains the analysis of the speech portrait of the videoblogger D. Babajanyan. The analysis includes the description of three levels of the linguistic personality of the videoblogger: thesaurus, motivational and verbal-semantic. The level of thesaurus of D. Babajanyan's linguistic personality was analyzed by describing the linguocognitive specifics of his speech portrait: the main components of the conceptual sphere of the videoblog "IB". In the course of a linguopragmatic analysis of the motivational level of a linguistic personality of D. Babajanyan his communicative strategies and communicative tactics are described. At the verbal-semantic level, a description of the style specifics of D. Babajanyan's verbal portrait was carried out, the analysis of videoblogger’s speech manner was conducted. Through the analysis of each level, linguistic markers of the "cancel culture" in the speech of the video blogger are identified. The results of the study can be used as illustrative material reflecting the influence of the phenomenon of "cancel culture" on the linguistic personality.

Initially, my developing body of work aimed to redesign the traditions of representational painting, specifically the female nude, to depict the contemporary notions of lesbianism and femininity in an honest and empowering manner as a form of identity and not as vehicle for voyeurism. As an artist who paints the female nude and identifies as a woman and a lesbian, I examine the preexisting notions of the male gaze and the effect of socialization as it pertains to my work. The act of looking from the point of view of a woman, which is not synonymous with a "female gaze", or from the point of view of a lesbian, is not a birthright, but a conscious effort to constantly question the way we see and produce pictures and realizing that the male gaze permeates most images of female nudes. By the nature of my sexuality and my exposure to existing male-produced images, do I see the female nude through the male gaze or is there a gaze that is essentially female? Does it matter either way if the image is aesthetically compelling? My paintings neither attempt to conform to the male gaze or debunk it, nor do I attempt to prove the existence of a female gaze. Like Edgar Degas, I wish to look through a keyhole-a form of voyeurism-to see people outside of their public facade.

Le but de cette recherche est de déterminer si l'appartenance à un groupe générationnel influence la relation entre les pratiques de gestion et l'engagement organisationnel. En effet, il est suggéré dans différents écrits que les organisations devraient adapter leurs pratiques de gestion en fonction des différentes générations. En outre, ces dernières auraient des préférences contrastées face à leur environnement de travail. De plus, il semble que les différents groupes générationnels ne seraient pas mobilisés par les mêmes styles ni par les mêmes pratiques de gestion. De toute évidence, il est de plus en plus question de choc des générations. Dans un contexte où les organisations doivent composer avec une main-d'oeuvre plus rare et plus diversifiée, les effets de la mobilisation font en sorte qu'une main-d'oeuvre mobilisée devient un avantage concurrentiel. Or, puisque les différents écrits portant sur les générations indiquent que les organisations doivent adapter leurs pratiques de gestion en fonction de leur main-d'oeuvre, une recherche sur la relation entre les pratiques de gestion, les groupes générationnels et l'engagement organisationnel s'avère pertinente. L'objectif principal de cette étude est donc de vérifier si l'appartenance à un groupe générationnel influence la relation entre les pratiques de gestion et l'engagement organisationnel. Notre étude a été menée auprès d'une population qui oeuvre dans les services d'experts-conseils. A l'aide d'un questionnaire auto-administré, nous avons sondé 396 personnes (taux de réponse de 43 %), réparties dans la région des Cantons-de-l'Est et de Québec/Chaudière-Appalaches. Nous avons mesuré les facteurs suivants : les pratiques de gestion, les caractéristiques individuelles, les groupes générationnels et les trois composantes de l'engagement organisationnel. Les résultats de notre recherche n'ont pas fait ressortir de différences significatives entre les quatre générations à l'étude et le niveau d'engagement organisationnel. Par contre, il apparaît qu'il existe une différence entre les générations en ce qui concerne le degré d'importance accordé à certaines pratiques de gestion. De plus, il nous a été possible de faire ressortir des relations entre les pratiques de gestion et l'engagement organisationnel. Plus précisément, nous avons détecté une relation entre les pratiques d'aménagement du temps de travail, de reconnaissance monétaire, de développement des compétences et de la gestion de carrière avec l'engagement affectif, ainsi qu'une relation entre les pratiques de gestion de la performance et de possibilités de jouer de nouveaux rôles et l'engagement moral. Aussi, nos résultats ont fait ressortir une différence entre les générations et le degré d'importance accordé aux pratiques de développement des compétences et de gestion de carrière, de gestion de la performance, d'aménagement du temps de travail et de rémunération. Finalement, nos résultats indiquent que l'appartenance à un groupe générationnel n'a pas d'effet médiateur sur la relation entre les pratiques de gestion et l'engagement organisationnel.

This thesis examines a selection of eight photographs in the History Portraits series by American photographer, Cindy Sherman, produced from 1989 to 1990. The photographs are based on Renaissance paintings of biblical and secular women painted by old master artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Sandro Botticelli, and Raphael. Sherman focused on the female types of Biblical mother and femme fatale, as well as wives and models. These types are defined in their relation to men and are depicted by men. In Sherman’s reinterpretations of their portraits, she retells the stories of these women in ways that reaffirm their independence and power that have been shrouded in a history told and controlled by men. With herself as her model, she altered aspects of the images, using the technique of caricature for humor as well as critique. Sherman subverts the idealization of the Renaissance portraits of women by exaggerating features and eliminating aspects of the original portraits to reassert the women’s individuality.

Thesis (MPhil (Visual Arts. Illustration))--University of Stellenbosch, 2009. / The aim of this thesis is to decode my autobiographic graphic novel, Portrait in Pieces (a narrative of a mother / daughter relationship), utilising a genealogical mode of analysis. This takes place, firstly, through a discussion of the themes of photography, memory and repetition which occur in the graphic novel; secondly, through a consideration of the role of language and difference within a specific mother / daughter relationship; and thirdly, through the study of autobiography and the self as performative entities. In this thesis I interrogate the autobiographic genre in a manner that questions internalised notions of femininity and (patriarchal) cultural constructs, which precede and influence the performance of our ‘life scripts’. I posit Portrait in Pieces as a transitional object between my mother and myself, and language as a medium which can both Otherise and close the distance between us. Translation is the medium by which one reads this distance, turning miscommunication into communication, and misunderstanding into understanding. The illustrations and text constituting the graphic novel have been produced through creative play, representing the ‘post talking’ required for the process of healing, empathising, and taking ownership of one’s ‘life script’.
