No. of bitstreams: 1 Hadler_MariaSilviaDuarte_D.pdf: 5883238 bytes, checksum: 8900233916969988bfd4e1c73f8ffb5a (MD5) Previous issue date: 2007 / Resumo: Memorias diversas, em grande parte nostálgicas e idealizadas, encontradas a respeito do tempo em que o bonde foi presença significativa no espaço urbano de diversas cidades brasileiras, levaram a considerá-lo um objeto culturalmente significativo, capaz de conduzir à apreensão de determinadas práticas culturais de uma cidade na relação com a modernidade capitalista. Tendo sido um dos ícones da modernidade urbana entre décadas finais do século XIX e as iniciais do século XX, e nos anos 1960 símbolo de entrave ao progresso, foram expressão de uma dada forma de circulação e temporalidade, fazendo parte de um processo de produção de relações sócio-culturais no espaço urbano, de conformação de sensibilidades urbanas. Nesse trajeto histórico-cultural percorrido pelos bondes, a pesquisa buscou flagrar, mais especificamente na cidade de Campinas, através de memórias que foram se delineando em torno da figura do bonde, entrelaçamentos sugestivos entre presente e passado, articulações com as vivências e inquietações do presente. Por outro lado, rastreando imagens que se formaram sobre a vida urbana da época, buscou estabelecer relações entre a cidade e seus equipamentos e o processamento de uma educação histórico-política das sensibilidades / Abstract: memories most of them nostalgic and idealized about the time in which there was a significant presence of the tram in some Brazilian urban areas, led one to consider it a culturally important object, able to improve the comprehension on specific cultural practices of a city, related with capitalist modernity. From one of the urban modernity icons between the final decades of XIX century and the initial ones of the XX, the tram became a symbol representing na obstacle to progress during the sixties. However, during this period it expressed a given way of circulation and temporality, taking part of a production process of socio-cultural relationships inside the urban space, moulding urban sensitivities. Collecting the most part of the data in Campinas, this research pictured relevant aspects of the historic-cultural track traversed by the tram. Through memoirs that were being outlined around its figure, it was possible to realize suggestive interlacements between present and past, connections with living practices and inquietudes of the present time Besides, investigating images that were found about the urban life of the period, one sought to settle relationships between the city and its apparatus and the processing of a historic-political education of the sensitivities / Doutorado / Educação, Conhecimento, Linguagem e Arte / Doutor em Educação

No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2010-12-13 / This work proposes a historical recovery of production and operating procedures of Atelier Mirga, led by Polish artist Henrique Mirgalowski and responsible for creating the posters distributed by the Companhia de Annuncios em Bonds in São Paulo. Contextualizes the advertising posters on trams in a city of intense transformation like São Paulo in the first half of the twentieth century. Investigates how the advertising posters on trams, with their surroundings and characteristics, entered into a modernity that cannot be understood outside the urban context. It traces the formative years of Henrique Mirgalowski before arriving in Brazil and becoming a pioneer of modern Brazilian poster. Puts the art in dialogue with the advertising graphics of the period, analyzing the hierarchical distinction between major and "minor arts. Dedicates to the training of the Brazilian advertisers and designers before the 1950‟s, highlighting educational and pioneering role of Henrique Mirgalowski and his studio. Investigates how foreign models influenced the production of Atelier Mirga. Diploma thesis maps functioning, problems and troubles of public transportation in Prague during socialism in years 1948 till 1974. These years represents the beginning of communism in Czechoslovak Republic and year of putting the Prague metro into operation. The aim of the work was to examine this limited period in terms of public transportation, its impact on urban development, how different types of public transportation interacted and complemented each other, what was its impact on passengers alone and , for example, how metro planning during this period affected the operation of busses, troleybusses and trams. We found that despite the fact that the metro was at first just an unnecessary plan, later the entire system of public transportation began to concentrate and change precisely because of its implementation. Hållbara spårvägar / Sustainable Tramway Tracks

The Swedish city of Uppsala is growing and will be expanded. To manage the increase in traffic, a tramway is being planned. It is vital to make the construction and the tramway tracks sustainable. This is explored to study carbon dioxide emissions related to tramway track materials as well as their wear and service life. This project investigates sustainability, the tramway track constituents, rail steel, the rails' wear, rail surface treatments that could minimize wear and increase service life, materials surrounding the rails, and the production of the most used materials in tramway tracks. A literature study is conducted to compare different options for materials and treatments. The municipality of Uppsala's climate goals, technical standards and regulations, articles and studies about the mentioned topics, amongst other sources, are considered and compared. The results include a rough estimation of the material consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. Asphalt tracks have the lowest emissions of the different surrounding material options. The steel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions for the vignole rails are less than for grooved rails and the concrete consumption for grass tracks is slightly less compared to edilon tracks. It is also possible to switch from regular perlitic rail steel to bainitic rail steel when needed. Laser hardening, UNSM, and thermal plasma hardening decrease the rails' wear (rates) considering increased surface hardness. / Uppsala är en växande stad och därför ska Södra staden byggas ut. Spårvagnstrafik planeras för att hantera den kommande trafikbelastning. Det är viktigt att göra konstruktionen av spårvägen till spårvagnen så hållbar och miljövänlig som möjligt. Detta utreds i denna rapport för att undersöka koldioxidutsläpp från spårvägens material samt dess slitage och livslängd. Rapporten undersöker hållbarhet, hur spårvägarna ser ut och dess olika delar, rälstål, rälernas slitage, ytbehandlingar till rälarna som kan minimera slitage och öka livslängden, samt tillverkningen av de mest förekommande materialen i spårvagnars spårvägar. En litteraturstudie genomförs för att jämföra olika materialvals- och behandlingsalternativ. Uppsala kommuns klimatmål, tekniska standarder och regelverk, artiklar och studier om de nämnda ämnena, bland andra resurser, används och jämförs. Studiens resultat inkluderar en grov uppskattning av materialåtgången och koldioxidutsläpp. Det blir minst koldioxidutsläpp från asfaltsspår när det gäller de omgivande materialen. Stålåtgången och koldioxidutsläppen för vignolräler är mindre än för gaturäler och betongåtgången blir lite mindre för grässpår jämfört med edilonspår. Det är även möjligt att byta från vanligt perlitiskt rälstål till bainitiskt rälstål vid behov. Laserhärdning, UNSM och termisk plasma härdning minskar rälernas slitage med avseende på framförallt ökningar av ythårdhet.

Os mapas da cidade de São Paulo, produzidos no período compreendido entre o final do século XIX e meados do século XX, revelam uma cidade em plena transformação e desenvolvimento, com aumento dos seus limites através das obras de infraestrutura, como linha férrea e de bondes, implantação dos sistemas de distribuição de água e principalmente, energia elétrica, além da construção de novas pontes, loteamentos e arruamentos de chácaras, abertura de ruas, avenidas e praças. A influência dos trilhos (trens e bondes) na estruturação territorial da cidade de São Paulo foi avaliada através da análise de mapas históricos e auxiliada pela cartografia digital. Atualmente, com os recursos técnicos disponíveis, os mapas históricos podem ser estudados de forma sistematizada buscando-se obter uma visão de conjunto a respeito das transformações no espaço geográfico ao longo do tempo. A cartografia digital, apoiada nos softwares de Sistemas de Informação Geográfica (SIG), representa essa possibilidade oferecendo recursos para armazenamento, manipulação, e visualização dos dados geográficos. / The maps of the city of São Paulo produced within period from the late nineteenth and mid-twentieth century, reveal a city undergoing transformation and development, increasing the limits of the urban through infrastructure works such as railway and trams, implementation of water distribution systems and especially electricity, in addition to building new bridges, roads and subdivisions of small farms, open streets, avenues and squares. The influence of the rails (trains and trams) in the territorial structure of the city of São Paulo was evaluated through analysis of historical maps and assisted by digital mapping. Currently, with the available technical resources, historical maps can be studied in a systematic way seeking to get an overview about the changes in geographical space over time. The digital cartography supported by Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software provides resources for storage, manipulation, and visualization of geographic data.

Budoucnost řízení tramvajového vlaku s přechodem na autonomní technologie / The Future of Tram Driving towards Autonomous Technology

The text of the diploma thesis focuses on autonomous tram transportation in the context of Prague. The goal of this work is to map out Prague tram transportation and autonomous technology and then suggest its implementation in future service. The outcomes will bet hen projected into the role of a tram driver. The theoretical part consists of historical synthesis of tram transportation and the role of drivers and conductors. It introduces the current state of autonomous technology research for road vehicles, which provide inspiration for tram technology and also current pilot projects of autonomous trams in the world. The practical part includes a prognostic research with professionals with focus on the future of prague trams in the context of autonomy. Another research included observation of interaction between citizens and trams in the field. The outcomes of the research are projected with the background of the theoretical part into a concept of process of autonomous trams implementation for Prague. This process is then reflected from the point of view of tram drivers.
