La conception informatique au-delà de l’entreprise : rôles des formes sociales émergentes et transverses aux organisations dans les milieux professionnels du génie logiciel / Designing softwares beyond firm boundaries : how social configurations emerging through organisations influence the professional world of software engineering.

Nelson, Mickaël 17 November 2010 (has links)
In a professional environment characterized by its complexity and its evolution, softwaredesigners face the difficulties of having to propose innovative, reliable and durabletechnological solutions, despite a lack of steady systems of reference. In this context, socialconfigurations that remain transversal to firms (e.g. professional networks) have appeared, and henceforth represent new kinds of references for computer engineers. A comparativeanalysis of four specific environments of computer design underlines the multiplicity of thecontribution of these social configurations. Indeed, they support the operational activity, enabling to open up resources, skills and knowledge, and to improve collective learning. Moreover, inscribing a computer work is these social configurations reinforce a recentprofessional activity that lacks of deep collective references. Gratitude and acknowledgmentby peers are based on the practice of an art, and are emancipated from constraints thatremain external to technology. Relationships between members of these non formalcommunities are the basis of identity demands preliminary to the constitution of aninstituted profession. Furthermore, the role of these new social configurations questionsabout the evolution of the professional environment, which the network is a real andspecific configuration in. Especially, the informal character of exchanges shows thecontemporary importance of gift and free transactions, even in highly commercialenvironments.

TRANS*VERSAL ANIMACIES AND THE MATTERING OF BLACK TRANS* POLITICAL LIFE

Weil, Abraham 17 May 2017 (has links)
This article explores trans*versal connections between transness, blackness, and the animal. Drawn from the conceptual vocabulary of cultural theorist Felix Guattari, this article argues that the central purpose of transversality is to create linkages between previously unexplored singularities in a field, and then to create connections in other conceptual topographies at different levels of discursivity. The article advances an extension of Guattari's transversal into a more capacious concept of the trans*versal, to analyze the #blacklivesmatter and #blacktranslivematter movements that draw on critical animal studies to reveal ways that species hierarchies are always present in processes of racialization that allow some lives to matter more, or less, than others.

Step Into a Blue Funk: Transversal Color and Derek Jarman's Blue

Fowler, Daren 12 August 2014 (has links)
Derek Jarman’s Blue has a complicated reception and exhibition history. Stuck between his past representational queer cinema and the inability to represent the suffering and death from AIDS, Jarman crafted a film of radical stylistics. It is in Blue’s striking color that a transversality of form, sensation, and visuality occurs, and in so doing, produces a space for synesthetic affectivity and collective desire. This thesis will use those radical formal elements and the history of Jarman and Blue to position color away from the phobic tradition of color theory and towards a flowing site of political rupture.

Transfotografia : o pixel em multidão

Kirst, Patrícia Beatriz Argôllo Gomes January 2010 (has links)
The research “Transfotography: The pixel in Multitude” circumscribes the concept of trans with views to render problematic to the digital photography, in process of manipulation, as well as the subjects that operate such process in creative interaction, understood under the light of the concept of multitude (NEGRI; HARDT, 2005). The attempt to produce knowledge based on the digital photograph in its institutive estate points towards a multiple and ambiguous dimension and, therefore, being able to move beyond the linear coordinates: thus the transversal movement that surpasses all the discussion proposed. The subjects in cooperation that operate the transphotography are understood as the former of only one body joined to the technological possibilities of expression and eclosion of difference. We want with this make feasible the reinvenction of the viewed and have the possiblity to view images that carry the marks of the impersonal and of the alterity. The study of the digital photographic image deals with the localized trandisciplinarity, here, among the Social Psychology, the Computer Science in Education and the Philosophy. Put the image to emerge, in its conceptual universes and in its immanence, requires to think of it in the limit. Such limit is in each pixel that holds the molecularity that, when put in action, can become the difference and the potency for the passage of one image to the other. To think the digital fotographic image in processual estate and, therefore, molecular following the marks of the subversion of form, of the truth and of the representation, taken by escaping points of view is the horizon of this research. This study, then, is inscribed in an inventive and experimental way to produce science, bringing up a crossing-view in a cartography that uses the transphotography as passage to discuss contemporaneous in some of its technological faces and of subjectivation. Its most precise formulation could be expressed this way: How the transphotografy can operate like dispositive clinical-political in multitude?

Codon Constraints on Closed 2D Shapes

Richards, Whitman, Hoffman, Donald D. 01 May 1984 (has links)
Codons are simple primitives for describing plane curves. They thus are primarily image-based descriptors. Yet they have the power to capture important information about the 3-D world, such as making part boundaries explicit. The codon description is highly redundant (useful for error-correction). This redundancy can be viewed as a constraint on the number of possible codon strings. For smooth closed strings that represent the bounding contour (silhouette) of many smooth 3D objects, the constraints are so strong that sequences containing 6 elements yield only 33 generic shapes as compared with a possible number of 15, 625 combinations.

Reeb Spaces and the Robustness of Preimages

Patel, Amit January 2010 (has links)

We study how the preimages of a mapping f : X &rarr Y between manifolds vary under perturbations. First, we consider the preimage of a single point and track the history of its connected component as this point varies in Y. This information is compactly represented in a structure that is the generalization of the Reeb graph we call the Reeb space. We study its local and global properties and provide an algorithm for its construction. Using homology, we then consider higher dimensional connectivity of the preimage. We develop a theory quantifying the stability of each homology class under perturbations of the mapping f . This number called robustness is given to each homology class in the preimage. The robustness of a class is the magnitude of the perturbation necessary to remove it from the preimage. The generality of this theory allows for many applications. We apply this theory to quantify the stability of contours, fixed points, periodic orbits, and more.
/ Dissertation

This essay proposes a sort of reflective-theoretical ideas about Financial Education and about the possibility of the students to be invited to be responsible agents of Financial Mathematics learning. This invitation, with the teacher’s mediation, happens in a reflection and investigation scenario and in a clear exercise of intervention and practical judgment. To neither suppress the practicing of the exercises, nor the theory without, yet, face them as the only means of approach, a proposal of solving the questions as initial strategy was chosen, taking into consideration the contextualizing and the transversality which the issue allows in the interaction with other mathematical fields of expertise. There is, still, the possibility of the exploration in greater depth of this topic and it can, therefore, switch over between the most fundamental rules of three concepts and percentages, and the studying of sequences, functions, exponentials, logarithms, building and analyzing graphs and tables. The analysis and question solving of “Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (ENEM)” and middle level test solving of public contest, solved as and when chapters are presented, confirm that the acquisition of the mathematical knowledge, supported by the critical view of daily problems, provides the students with the essential confidence and detachment for the confrontation of technical-scientific situations. Also, they generate the capability of mathematical-logic thinking needed to the students’ complete exercise in citizenship, according to the proposals of Financial Education established by the “Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educação Nacional (LDB/96)” and the “Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais do Ensino Médio (PCNEM)”.
