The issues on adults‘ motivation discussed in scientific discource are not prolific. They and related problems have been studied by Viliūnas (1990), Boshier (1971), Hatter (1990), Entwistle (1998), Taylor (1982). However, there is a lack of research of adults‘ motivation for learning foreign languages in an informal educational organization. This is the foundation of the research of the master‘s thesis which enables to formulate the problem of the research, emphasizing the search for peculiarities of adults‘ motivation for learning foreign languages, highlighting prevailing motifs, their relations to some demographical sharacteristics of adults when teaching and learning is performed in an informal educational organization. Dans ce travail on parle de la méthodologie des langues étrangères. / Šiame darbe kalbama apie įvairius metodus dėstant užsienio kalbas. / In this paper is presented foreign languages teaching methodology.

Šiame darbe nagrinėjamas kalbos mokymo automatizavimas technine prasme - kompiuterinių ir internetinių mokymo priemonių kūrimas, taip palengvinant ir atpiginant mokymo(si) procesą. Apžvelgiami įvairūs užsienio kalbos metodai informatikos požiūriu, nagrinėjamos jų realizavimo programiškai galimybės. Taip pat apžvelgiamos Lietuvoje prieinamos kompiuterinės kalbų mokymosi priemonės. Darbe pateikiamos metodinės rekomendacijos kompiuterinių mokymo priemonių kūrėjams. Praktinėje dalyje pateikiamos dvi programos: viena klasikinė ir viena internetinė. / This paper investigates computer assisted language learning and teaching through the various aspects: choice of language teaching methods to implement into software, mnemonical evaluation of various language learning programs and accessibility. Various language learning methods‘ software implementations are analysed, among them are: Communicative method, Pimsleur method and learning system, Audio-lingual method, Grammar-Translation method, Spaced repetition and language curve. Later various software-based and web-based language teaching programs are approached. Author makes a comparision between PHP-based web applications and Microsoft Visual Basic Express 2008 based software applications, their performance and user usability. Web-standards related advantages and disadvantages in language learning web-based programs are discussed. This work contains source code of two programs – English language irregular verbs teaching program, written with Microsoft Visual Basic Express 2008 and PHP and MySQL – based website that satisfies XHTML 1.0 Transitional standard. Website is suited for teaching Basic English list of 850 words and user can practice to transcribe English words to Lithuanian language, translate words in test form with 5 possible answers to choose from in both ways, recognize word’s meaning from English speech.

Magistro darbe nagrinėjama universiteto dėstytojų tarpkultūrinės kompetencijos užsienio kalbų dimensija kaip internacionalizacijos asmenio lygmens aspektas. Darbo tikslas - teoriškai pagrįsti tarpkultūrinės kompetencijos užsienio kalbos dimensijos svarbą ir empiriškai ištirti Šiaulių universiteto dėstytojų užsienio kalbos kompetencijos, kaip vieno iš sėkmingos internacionalizacijos faktorių, raišką. Išanalizavus mokslinę literatūrą bei sudarius specialų klausimyną kalbinei kompetencijai nustatyti buvo apklausti Šiaulių universiteto dėstytojai. Identifikuojant viso universiteto internacionalizacijos problemas, papildomai atlikta antrinių duomenų apie dėstytojų mokslinę ir pedagoginę veiklą analizė. Gauti tyrimų rezultatai, patvirtina hipotezę, kad nepakankamas dėstytojų užsienio kalbos mokėjimas trukdo sėkmingai integruoti tarpkultūrinį aspektą į pedagoginę ir mokslinę veiklą. / Foreign language dimension of university teachers intercultural competence in the context of higher education. / In der Masterarbeit wird die fremdsprachliche Dimension der interkulturellen Kompetenz als persönliches Bereich der Internationalisierung untersucht. Das Ziel der Arbeit ist die theoretische Begründung der fremdsprachlichen Dimension der interkulturellen Kompetenz und die empirische Erforschung des Fremdsprachenkompetenzausdrucks der Lektoren von Universität Siauliai. Diese Kompetenzen gelten hier als Faktoren der erfolgreichen Internationalisierung. Nachdem die wissenschaftliche Literatur analysiert und Fragebogen für die Feststellung der Sprachkompetenz entwickelt worden waren, wurden die Lektoren der Universität Siauliai befragt. Zwecks der Identifizierung der Internationalisierungsprobleme für die ganze Universität, wurde daneben die Analyse der Sekundärdateien über die wissenchaftliche und pädagogische Tätigkeit durchgeführt. Die Ergebnisse der Forschung bestätigen die Hypothese, dass die ungenügende Fremsprachenbeherrschung der Universitätslektoren bei der Einbeziehung des interkulturellen Aspekts in die wissenschaftliche und pädagogische Tätigkeit hindern.
