General Unpacking : Overview and Techniques

Niculae, Danut January 2015 (has links)
Over the years, packed malware have started to appear at a more rapid pace.Hackers are modifying the source code of popular packers to create new typesof compressors which can fool the Anti Virus software. Due to the sheer vol-ume of packer variations, creating unpacking scripts based on the packer’ssignature has become a tedious task. In this paper we will analyse genericunpacking techniques and apply them on ten popular compression software. The techniques prove to be successful in nine out of ten cases, providing aneasy and accessible way to unpack the provided samples

Exploring Fifth Grade Teachers' Perceptions of Math Instructional Practices

Bryant, Lastarra Latoia 01 January 2019 (has links)
Even though a school in Southern Virginia had been utilizing a variety of manipulatives, calculators, and computers to transition students through the concrete-representational-abstract (CRA) sequence; students did not meet the state proficiency requirement on the standardized math assessment. A qualitative descriptive case study design, grounded in Bruner's learning theory on the modes of representation, was utilized to explore fifth-grade teachers' perceptions of their math instructional practices. The central question was about 5th-grade teachers' perceptions of utilizing a wide variety of manipulatives, calculators, and computers to transition students from concrete understandings to pictorial representations before they embark upon abstract concepts. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and archival data. The data were analyzed through thematic analysis and coded through the constant comparison approach. The data collection revealed that the 4 participants were utilizing a wide variety of manipulatives, calculators, and computers to transition students through the CRA sequence; however, the teachers were unable to teach students to a level of mastery due to various barriers. The study's findings suggest that the research site would benefit from a three-day professional development plan, created to address the lack of teaching to mastery. This study will contribute to positive social change because it addressed the math achievement gap that is widening in America. This study's findings could benefit local, district, and state stakeholders as the project addresses teaching students to the appropriate cognitive levels to prepare for lifelong learning in mathematics, as well as for standardized assessments.

Förbättring av processen för uppackning av delkomponenter för att förebygga arbetsrelaterade skador / Improvement of the process for unpacking subcomponents to prevent work-related injuries

Anderberg, Caroline, Mlakar, Alexander January 2024 (has links)
To enhance well-being and efficiency in a company's operations, it is essential for employees to have good ergonomics. One way to achieve this is to do an ergonomics study where the focus is on analyzing the movements that are performed and contributing solutions that make work easier. Currently, the unpacking of inhaler components in airlocks at AstraZeneca Site Respiratory is done entirely manually. This is a contributing factor to injuries in the shoulders, back, neck, wrists, and fingers of several employees. The aim is to analyze various semi-automated aids that ergonomically ease the task. To gain a clear understanding of the problem, semi-structured interviews and observations were conducted at AstraZeneca, along with a comprehensive literature review to find previous implementation methods in similar studies. These interviews and literary reports have been used to answer the report’s research questions:(1) What aids are there to facilitate unpacking with heavy lifting and pulling?(2) What unpacking aids can ergonomically relieve the staff?Four different aids were developed using the method. The results presented a vacuum lifter, cobot, an internal plastic membrane, and a safety knife. The conclusion indicated that these aids can ergonomically relieve the staff and prevent various types of injuries. Through continued studies of the problem, a fully automated solution can be analyzed.

What makes a cozy game? : A study of three games considered cozy

Wäppling, Alva, Walchshofer, Lovisa, Lewin, Rebecka January 2022 (has links)
In recent years the video game industry has seen a rise of the term “cozy games”. In an attempt to explore this new term, this thesis closely looks into three games commonly associated with the label – A Short Hike, Unpacking, and GRIS – to find the essence of what makes them be perceived as cozy. By performing a qualitative analysis, where we played through all of the games two times each, deconstructing and analyzing the different components through the lens of gameplay, visuals, and narrative, we aimed to reach a further understanding of this new term. Our hope is to aid both players as well as developers to gain a better grip of this term, potentially supporting in the process of establishing cozy as a genre of its own. Reaching a concrete result proved difficult. These games that are perceived as cozy are seldom only cozy, the aesthetic being achieved by a combination of several components. These components could be things such as a compelling narrative and visual style, or simple gameplay embracing mundanity and nonviolence.

The regional keys to success in Brussels : Unpacking Swedish subnational actors’ approach to EU and their different forms of organisation

Ericsson, Rickard January 2023 (has links)
Up until today, nearly all Swedish regions have decided to set up an EU office in Brussels. However, earlier research on the subject shows that there are big differences concerning what the regions are trying to achieve with their EU office. The aim for this study was therefore to analyse Swedish subnational actors’ EU work within three different arenas and dimensions: at the Brussel arena (upload), at home ground (download) and lastly, the coordination between these two arenas (crossload). To achieve this, an extensively material on the subject was gathered by interviewing key persons from both Brussels and the subnational actors’ home organizations. In order to analyse the material, the theoretical framework multi-level governance was put into practice. The theoretical framework offered a definition on how the regions interact within the EU, and it also provided the framework for the analyses.  The study was able to unpack three Swedish subnational actors’ EU approaches and their different forms of organization regarding their work with EU. In addition, the study could for each explored arena set up a collection of criteria’s that Swedish subnational actors must achieve in order to succeed with their strategic work with EU. Those criteria’s, with numerous important subheadings, were categorised as effectiveness, legitimacy, and strategical selection.
