VFU- en väg in i arbetslivet?

Anell, Lovisa, Christiansson, Åsa, Lindroos, Jennie January 2010 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the employability of newly graduated social workers is affected by the Supervised Practical Work Experience performed during the educational program. Four main questions were developed in order to establish an educated and concise theory: Does the newly graduated social worker’s choice of a specific Supervised Practical Work Experience affect their employability? Does the structure of the Supervised Practical Work Experience affect newly graduated social worker’s employability? What specific skills do employers within social work consider important for their organization? Is there a difference in how the representatives of various organizations within social work answer the aforementioned questions? The study was conducted through six qualitative semi-structured interviews. The people being interviewed work either as employers or recruiters in organizations from different areas within social work. Theories concerning organization and symbolic interactions were used during the analysis of the results. The results show that there is no direct link between newly graduated social worker’s employability and the Supervised Practical Work Experience performed during the educational program. However, there are indications that show that if the applicant has done their Supervised Practical Work Experience at the specific department that is advertising vacancies, then it can have a positive impact on employment opportunities at the given agency. There are differences between the participants in the study when it comes to what skills and experiences that are being highly valued.

Svensson, Helena January 2011 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to describe senior nurses’ expectations concerning how a digital information and communication technology systems (ICT) can contribute to the improvement of care leadership and how it can strengthen ties between the school's theoretical world and the practical clinical work-based training (WP) in nursing. The study has a descriptive design with a qualitative approach. The study involved seven leading care nurses. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews. Subject matter was analyzed based on qualitative content analysis.  The analysis yielded in a first category practical examples of how using ICT as a tool could strengthen the ties between theory and practice in order to understand the usefulness of theory in practice.  The informants also gave specific examples of ICT content that could be given to students and also to supervisors both in terms of information and education. The second category described the supervisors’ views on receiving students in clinical placements. The senior care nurses felt that at present the reception of students was unsatisfactory due to a muddled organization. It was often unclear what responsibilities they had as mentors and what the responsibility of the student was for his or her practice placement. Conclusions of the study are that the supervisors could see ICT as a tool to clarify these ambiguities. In the future it is necessary to respond to the needs of supervisors with respect to their views on what an ICT system should provide them with in order to improve their care supervision. By providing an ICT learning tool the two worlds could meet and the ties between theory and practice in the nursing program could be strengthened.

At least I thought the pupils were good”: : Theorisation in education students’ didactic reflections on teaching Swedish

Johansson, Annelie January 2019 (has links)
Title: “At least I thought the pupils were good”: Theorisation in education students’ didactic reflections on teaching Swedish   This qualitative study aimed to investigate the role of theory in education students’ reflections on their teaching of Swedish in lower primary school. The material was collected in connection with the students’ practical placements and comprises of interviews and observations. Although these prospective teachers performed well in the classroom, the study shows that the students’ didactic reflections were generally below par and inadequately founded in theories of learning or Swedish subject knowledge.        The overall conclusion is that different methods or models used in research can be highlighted to a greater extent in the Swedish subject courses on the primary education program. Students may not only use such theoretical tools to document pupils’ knowledge and formulate their own didactic reflections, but these tools could also prove useful in formative teaching, that is, in systematically documenting pupils’ learning in order to plan future teaching. This could therefore be a way to bridge the theory-practice gap in teacher training as well as improve education students’ use of theoretical models in their didactic reflections.
