A WEB COMPATIBLE FILE SERVER FOR MEASUREMENT AND TELEMETRY NETWORKS

Miller, Matthew J., Freudinger, Lawrence C. 10 1900 (has links)
International Telemetering Conference Proceedings / October 20-23, 2003 / Riviera Hotel and Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada / There is a gulf that separates measurement and telemetry applications from the full benefits of Internet style communication. Whereas the Web provides ubiquitous infrastructure for the distribution of file-based “static” data, there is no general Web solution for real-time streaming data. At best, there are proprietary products that target consumer multimedia and resort to custom point-to-point data connections. This paper considers an extension of the static file paradigm to a dynamic file and introduces a streaming data solution integrated with the existing file-based infrastructure of the Web. The solution approach appears to maximize platform and application independence leading to improved application interoperability potential for large or complex measurement and telemetry networks.

IoT Based Home Monitoring System

GUDURU, TABU SRAVANI, THATAVARTHY, SURYA NARAYANA MURTHY January 2019 (has links)
Home surveillance is a major concern in this day and age as with the rapid increase in the technology around us. There is a need to get updated with new possibilities to make our lives better and easy. Some cases and situations exhibit the need for home monitoring. So, we set out to discover a solution to this problem of home monitoring. Generally, we have issues with pets and kids alike such as approaching dangerous places like electric switches, stairs, and hot things. Not only a problem with kids and pets but also a chance of burglary and stranger's unusual activities. To overcome this problem we are designing and prototyping a system to keep an eye on kids, pets, and older people. This system is used in other applications like theft monitoring. The device can monitor the field all the time. In this way, this system helps in-home monitoring. The system consists of Arduino, which is the brain of the system, the PIR sensor, ESP32-CAM, and buzzer. The PIR sensor detects motion then gives input to the Arduino. Arduino gives output to the ESP32-CAM and buzzer. The ESP32-CAM can be activated and sends information to the user through the web Interface and the application. The user can see the video streaming on the PC screen or any other display. The buzzer can emit a high volume signal indicating that "there is an alert at the home".

A dynamic web interface to a remote robot evaluated with a robotic telescope

Tallon, Christopher John January 2010 (has links)
This thesis investigates the issues of creating a publicly accessible Web interface to a remote autonomous robot: the Bradford Robotic Telescope. The robot is situated on Mount Teide, on the island of Tenerife, Spain. Its mission is to provide interactive access to the stars to people who would otherwise not be able to appreciate the wonders of the night sky due to light pollution. Whenever weather and darkness permits, the robot processes the observation requests submitted by users via the Internet, operating all the hardware including the dome, telescope mount and cameras. The question of how to enable a content rich high quality dialogue between one robot and thousands of users is explored and divided into seven areas of research. How to design a Web site enabling high quality interaction with the user, how to enable users to request service from a robot, how to store and manage all the user and robot generated data, how to enable communication between the Web interface and the robot, how to schedule many observation requests in the best order, how to support a constant dialogue between the robot and users to engage users in the robot's work, and how to present and display users' completed observations. These seven areas of research are investigated; solutions are presented and their implementations examined and evaluated for their suitability and performance with the Bradford Robotic Telescope, and for how they might perform for any job-based remote robot.

Evaluer le "pouvoir" du design des interfaces web des ONG sur les formes et forces de l'engagement : entre éthique, esthésie et résistance / Evaluating the « power » of NGO websites interface design over forms and strengths of commitments : between ethic, esthesie and resistance

Bourdier Mellot, Sandra 09 December 2016 (has links)
We assess the level of user commitment on NGO websites by defining:i. an analytical framework linking user interactions with mediating devices (interaction models),ii. semiotics metadata describing individual user behaviour evolutions (interaction styles). This method allows us to discuss strategies from the perspective of co-enunciative relationship change depending on user interactions.Considering user perception produces a new indicator of the level of public support for the ethical message of NGO. We highlight a change of perspective to evaluate digital strategies: from a performance assessment focused on donations to the requirement of a co-enunciative relationship conducive to commitment. We define differents ways of interacting with NGO websites according to the relation between interaction models and interaction styles. Therefore, the level of user commitment on NGO websites depends on these different interaction possibilities provided by webdesign and covering a wide range of involvements from ignorance to empowerment.

Moderniserat styrprogram för vakuumugn

Persson, Christofer January 2015 (has links)
The aim of this project is to create a modern and advanced program for controlling a vacuum furnace used for brazing plate heat exchangers and which includes functions for remote monitoring. A DAQ-unit (Data Acquisition) made by National Instruments connects with an already existing vacuum furnace to send control signals and receive measurements. There is already a control program available for the vacuum furnace but it has a number of shortcomings which the new program is intended to solve. A PID controller is implemented to control the temperature of the furnace. Temperature control is of utmost importance to get the brazing process as stable as possible. Therefore, a simulator has been developed that simulates the entire brazing process. The simulator serves as a tool to optimize values of the constants included in the PID control algorithm. Everything is written in the C# programming language. The braze process has from a code stand point been divided into five phases; lowering pressure, heating, brazing, cooling and finish. A comparison between the new and the old control software shows that heating process is much faster now and that when the correct temperature level has been reached, the temperature variation is considerably lower than before. The entire soldering process is shortened by almost two hours. Temperature control is more efficient and stable than before because of the constants calculated using the simulator and that a PID controller is used instead of a PD controller. New technology is implemented so that a much larger number of samples are obtained. Functions for user access to the history of previous brazing processes has been developed and an interface to easily adjust settings is implemented. Even a web interface for remote monitoring has been created.

Ovládání periférií webovým rozhraním systému s 8 bit. mikroprocesorem / The controlling of peripherals by the web interface of 8-bit microprpcessor system

Majerčík, Miloš January 2008 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with description and subsequent implementation of web interface and control device for selected periphery devices through the use of processor module RabbitCore RCM3700 which is based on microprocessor Rabbit 3000. The importance of web interface based control is currently raised because of higher customers’ claims. Interactivity of these devices contains wide range of services, from simple event communication by text messages to complex driving systems for home which create the base of intelligent house. The customer can choose either the complete and more expensive solution or self-created one. There are two possible ways of creation. The first way is through the use of personal computer. The second one, more complex but also more effective, is by single-chip microprocessor. In this thesis the second one way is used. The module with processor with build-in web interface was used. Description and the way of control are given for this module and also for selected periphery devices, the LCD and digital temperature sensors. At the end the hardware and software part of control device is designed on the basis of gained information. The thesis contains also its brief description.
