<p>Detta arbete behandlar utvecklingen av en komplett webbsida för Grenna Museum innehållande en administrerbar webbutik.</p><p>Implementationen är baserad på designoriginal från företaget Cargando. Baserat på denna design skapades grunden till webbsidan med hjälp av tekniker såsom XHTML och CSS. Därefter lades dynamiskt innehåll i text- såväl som bildformat till med hjälp av ASP.NET och språket C#. En databas skapades för att lagra textinnehåll såväl som produktinformation, båda vilka är möjliga att redigera i webbsidans administrationsgränssnitt.</p><p>Resultatet av arbetet är en fullt fungerande webbapplikation med avancerade möjligheter till produktadministration. Arbetet har visat att verktygen som .NET-ramverket erbjuder varit lämpliga att nyttja för applikationer av denna typ. Webbsidan är redo att lanseras och samarbetet mellan författaren och uppdragsgivaren har fungerat mycket väl.</p>

Webbdesign är ett populärt och viktigt område inom medieproduktion. Som ett avslutande examensarbete inom högskoleprogrammet till medieproducent har jag producerat en webbplats till årets upplaga av musikfestivalen Popup i Umeå. Projektgruppen har bestått av mig som ensam producent och beställargruppen Kulturföreningen Humlan i Umeå, föreningen som arrangerar Popup. I den här rapporten beskriver jag vägen från första mötet med min uppdragsgivare till den färdiga webbplatsen. Jag redogör även för de verktyg som använts, bland annat CMS-systemet Wordpress. / Web design is a popular and important field within media production. As a final degree project within the University Programme in Media, I have produced a website for this year’s edition of the music festival Popup in Umeå. The project team has consisted of me as sole producer, and client group Kulturföreningen Humlan in Umeå, the organization that arranges Popup. In this report I describe the path from the first meeting with my client to the final website. I also state what tools I have used, including CMS Wordpress.

En administratör kan hantera nyheter, användare, kategorier samt tekniker.</p> / <p>The underlying question for this project was, how do you create a solid platform for art on the internet and how do you visualize the art in a good way?</p><p>The technology used during the project was ASP.NET 3.5 with the programming language C#. To handle the datastorage MsSql Server 2005 was choosen. Plenty of time and effort was spent around AJAX and the creation of own AJAX Extenders, mainly for the imageviewing part.</p><p>ImageGallery is a AJAX Extender that works like a simplyfied imagegallery, its used to visualize the artworks in a interactive way.</p><p>The project resulted in a ready to use application targeted for artists that want to publish their works online. Visitors can affect the imageviewing in a interactive way. Other functions that are available to them are the possiblity to comment, rate and filter artworks. The administrators for the website can handle news, users, categories and techniques.</p>

Projektarbeten har med tiden blivit allt vanligare både i arbetsliv och i utbildningar. Under de senaste åren har ett flertal av de utbildningsprogram som ges vid Linköpings Universitet omarbetats för att från start göra studenter vana vid denna arbetsform. I dessa lärobaserade projekt följer man en projektmodell som kallas LIPS, lätt interaktiv projektstyrning. I projektarbeten krävs en bra samordning av all den information som arbetet genererar. Detta har vi försökt att underlätta genom att utveckla en webbportal för studiebaserade projektarbeten som samlar informationen centralt, åtkomlig för både studenter och lärare. I detta examensarbete beskrivs hur en användarcentrerad systemutvecklingsprocess har bedrivits för att framställa webbportalen. Utvecklingen har bedrivits enligt en egendefinierad modell som bygger på iterativ och inkrementell utveckling. Systemet har testats tillsammans med användare med hjälp av olika utvärderingsmetoder. I rapporten beskrivs hur vi har lärt känna användare och deras krav på det system vi har utvecklat. Vi berättar hur vi har löst tekniska delar av systemet samt hur användbarheten i systemet har maximerats. Resultatet av examensarbetet har blivit ett användarvänligt webbaserat system som kan användas för att underlätta informationshanteringen i lärobaserade projektarbeten. / Project-based work has become more and more common in both work-life and education. During the last couple of years several programs at Linköping University has been reworked so that students will get used to this work form early. These education-based projects runs according to a project model called LIPS, this abbreviation can be translated as: easy interactive project guide. In these project-works it is necessary to coordinate the flows of information in an organized way. We have tried to simplify this feature by developing a web portal for education based project works. This portal gathers information centrally, reachable by both students and teachers. In this degree project we describe how a user-centered system-development-process has been practised to produce the web portal. The development has been persued according to a, by us, definied model built on iterative and incremental development. The system has been tested with users according to several evaluation methods. In this report we describe how we have got to know the users of the system and what demands they have on it. We describe how we have managed to solve technical issues in the system and how usabillity has been maximized. The result of this degree project has become a user friendly web based system that can be used to simplify information management in education based project works.

The problem that is examined is how to make courses from the product of Academy World &quot;Kunskapsbanken&quot; to be suitable for accessing from a smart phone. &quot;Kunskapsbanken is Web product where customer take courses over the Internet. To determine the suitability of each course page three Factors:  Page size  Transmission rate  Information presentation technique are examined of how they are configured and then checked against three criteria&apos;s:  15 second criteria  Page size criteria  Comparison criteria If the factors are within the limits of the criteria&apos;s the course page in question is suitable. All pages are examined according to the mentioned procedure individually Seven of seventeen tested course pages in the course &quot;Euron i din vardag&quot; where approved according to the comparison criteria. Three were approved with exception, which means that some part of the page was not approved. With a 9.6 kbps connection three pages were approved, with a 28.8 kbps connection nine pages were approved and with a 43.2 kbps connection nine pages were approved according to the 15 second and page size criteria. Important things to find out are the technical features of the smart phone(s) which are suppose to access the pages e.g. browser version, support for presentation techniques HTML, WML and scripts and in what way it is connected to the Internet. The use of client side scripting should not be relied on, there should be an alternative way to the functionality it provides e.g. server side scripting. Frames should be avoided, when making a Web page for mobile accessing.

As the Internet grows larger and the use of it expands, more people are developing for the web. This rapid development is making it more clear how important it is to think of the intended user. Twingly works with blog tools towards several different customers. Twingly wants to offer their customers the use of a dashboard with visualizations of customer-specific data. It would also be used to attract new customers.

Vi har utvecklat ett tidregistrerings- och faktureringssystem åt Xeratech Systems AB i Karlstad. Målet med vårt arbete var att utveckla ett system som var mer användarvänligt och mer funktionsenligt än Xeratechs gamla system - XSIS. Huvudfunktionen med systemet är att kunna registrera tider som anställda på Xeratech arbetat på olika projekt, vilket sedan ska kunna sammanställas till fakturor. Vi har skrivit en kravspecifikation för systemet efter diskussion med Xeratech, och sedan implementerat tidregistreringsdelen av specifikationen. Resultatet av vårt arbete är ett väl fungerande system som fått positiv respons vid testkörning hos Xeratech. En MySQL databas har använts för att lagra all information om registrerade tider, projekt och kunder. Till utvecklingen av webbapplikationen användes .NET. Systemet färdigutvecklas på Xeratech och kommer senare ersätta deras gamla system. / We have developed a time registration and invoicing system for Xeratech Systems AB in Karlstad. The goal with our work was to develop a system that was more user friendly and more functional than Xeratechs old system - XSIS. The main function of the system is to be able to register time which the employees at Xeratech have worked in different projects, which can then be compiled into invoices. We have written a requirements-specification for the system after discussions with Xeratech, and then implemented the time registration part of the specification. The result of our work is a well performing system which has gotten a positive response from testing at Xeratech. A MySQL database has been used to store all information regarding registered time, projects and customers. For the development of the web application .NET was used. The system will be finished at Xeratech and will later replace their old system.

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att utreda/undersöka om det är möjligt att lagra och presentera medarbetares kompetens inom ett kunskapsintensivt företag. Initiativtagare till examensarbetet är konsultbolaget Nethouse Sverige AB. Allteftersom Nethouses medarbetarantal växer, blir det svårare att på ett bra sätt strukturera och sammanställa kompetensen och kapaciteten som finns inom företaget. Det blir också svårare att hålla koll på inom vilka områden enskilda medarbetare utvecklas.          Svårt att sammanfatta kompetensen inom (medarbetare) och utanför (arbetssökande) Nethouse. Uppdatering av konsultprofilen (Word-dokumentet) glöms lätt bort. Svårt att söka efter medarbetare/arbetssökande med vissa kompetenser. För att på bästa sätt lösa problemen har en förstudie inom kravhantering genomförts. Förstudien resulterade i ett antal kravinsamlingsmetoder som sedan användes för att på bästa sätt extrahera de krav som fanns på ett kompetenssystem. Kraven uppfylldes genom att implementera en webbapplikation där varje medarbetare på Nethouse ges möjligheten att skapa en egen profil. En profil innehåller bland annat de uppdrag, kompetenser och roller som medarbetaren har erfarenhet av. Denna information är även sökbar och möjlighet finns att exportera profilen. Systemet kommer att spara Nethouses medarbetare mycket tid vid kompetens-sammanställning och sökning. / The purpose of this thesis is to examine / investigate the possibility to store and present employees’ skills and competencies in knowledge-intensive company. The initiator of this thesis is the consultant firm Nethouse Sverige AB. As Nethouse employee number grows, it becomes more and more difficult to structure and manage the skills and competencies that exist within Nethouse. It also becomes harder to keep track of the areas in which individual employees develop. Today each employee enters their skills and competencies in a Word-document (one per employee) called consultant profile. This way of entering skills and competencies causes several problems: Difficult to summarize the competence inside (employees) and also outside (jobseekers) Nethouse. Updating the consultant profile is often forgotten. Difficult to search for employees/jobseekers with specific skills. In order to solve the problems in a structured manner a preliminary study in requirements management has been performed. The study resulted in a number of requirement gathering techniques which was used to extract the requirements of the system to be developed. The requirements were realized by implementing a web application in which every employee at Nethouse could create their own consultant profile. A profile includes the assignments, competencies and roles that the employee have experience in. This information was also made searchable and the profile can be exported to Word-format. The system will save Nethouse’s employees a lot of time when searching for competencies and when compiling lists of competencies that exist within the company.

There are a huge number of books and articles written in the field of usability and about the art of giving the user the opportunity to find the information he is trying to reach while browsing the website. The writers of these books are handling guidelines that are recommended to be followed, as well as describing their own views, ideas and theories of the subject. We found an interest to research the different possibilities, if any, to develop a website optimal for the user from a usability point of view. Another thing we noticed was that a need of a substantial guidance existed in website development aimed for recently started companies. New theories and rules regarding usability, which are seen as superior to the old ones and therefore replaces them, is not created that often. This is different from other IT related subjects. For example, when looking at components inside of a computer, performance and disk space is doubled in a matter of a two year time period. Graphical design is also a thing that is ageing relatively fast and becomes obsolete when a new and fresh design comes along. With usability theories on the other hand it is possible to read books written ten years ago and even though all of it might not be pertinent, you can still see the big picture and find things that still counts as Reliable and correct. What we have seen is that the general opinion thinks less of usability compared to graphical design. Looking at how many pages the usability section gets in an HTML-guide or the number of books at the library’s shelves, the graphical sections outnumber the usability ones. This report and the attached manual, which is created based on the results and questions answered throughout this report, bring the most essential usability theories to light. Subsequently they are analyzed and tied together in the latter parts of the report. The author Jacob Nielsen, which is one of the greatest usability experts in the world today, stands for a major part of what is written about the subject. we will look at different theories from Nielsen and also look at a master’s degree thesis by Fredrik Hansson (2006) which deals with a survey concerning the color of links. The report consists of two parts; the first part is mainly about the usability theories explained above while the other part contains a basic HTML-guide as well as a style sheet-guide (CSS). These two guides prepare the users who choose to use the attached manual to create their own sites. We mainly aim our work towards the entrepreneur who is about to or has just started his own business. The parts we focus on in this report are site design where write about site dimensions, site length and describe page headers and page footers. We also deal with implementation and typography suited for the web. Another thing we bring to light is usability on a deeper level. Not everybody knows exactly what the expression means and we try to bring clarity to it. The manual gives the user a description of building a website from start to finish. The basic idea is to give substantial information to the point where the users can go and create a site by themselves without any extensive prior knowledge. However, we recommend some computer knowledge. The result of this report and the part that is described in the result section is a presentation on how a site is created based on the rest of the report. It will give answers to how a site is built in order to be as useful as possible.
