Métriques naturelles associées aux familles de variétés Kahlériennes compactes / Natural metrics associated to families of compact Kähler manifolds.

Magnusson, Gunnar Thor 28 November 2012 (has links)
In this thesis we consider families $pi : cc X to S$ of compact K"ahler manifolds with zero first Chern class over a smooth base $S$. We construct a relative complexified K"ahler cone $p : cc K to S$ over the base of deformations. Then we prove the existence of natural hermitian metrics on the total spaces $cc K$ and $cc X times_S cc K$ that generalize the classical Weil--Petersson metrics associated to polarized families of such manifolds. As a byproduct we obtain a Riemannian metric on the K"ahler cone of any compact K"ahler manifold. We obtain an expression of its curvature tensor via an embedding of the K"ahler cone into the space of hermitian metrics on the manifold. We also prove that if the manifolds in our family have trivial canonical bundle, then our generalized Weil--Petersson metric is the curvature form of a positive holomorphic line bundle. We then give some examples and applications.

EducaÃÃo e InstruÃÃo na Filosofia PolÃtica de Eric Weil / Education and Instruction in Political Philosophy of Eric Weil

Marcela da Silva UchÃa 10 May 2013 (has links)
This work will focus on explaining the concepts of Instruction and Education of Eric Weil, as well as the relation between them, which is a fundamental tool for effecting a reasonable action, which shows the extremely ethical sense of philosophy in Weilâs thought. The thought of the philosopher reflects the issue of education under the aspect of morality. The formal Kantian morality can be used as a basis for Weil reflection on the reasonable educational action. According to Weil, the historical role of the educator is to teach the individual to discern the reason in the world, since the goal of education is to offer the violent individual a way of virtuous acting with other community members. Hence derive the differences between education and instruction. The overvaluation of the instruction, the demand for skills and training of skilled labor for the capitalist system hide what should be the true meaning of education which is to educate men to undergo spontaneously to the universal law (natural), an education in opposite of being a slave of passions and to be held by them.

Représentation de Weil d'une paire duale de groupes de similitudes / Weil representation of dual pairs of similitude groups over a finite field

Gaborieau, Alice 01 October 2015 (has links)
Let F be a p-adic field, and let k be its residue field. According to Langlands' conjectures, smooth irreducible representations of a reductive group G defined over F should be classified in terms of the dual groupe G^. In particular, given a homomorphism from H^ to G^, there should be a lift from the representations of H(F) to the representations of G(F). When H = SO2n+1 and G = GL2n, the canonical injection from H^ to G^ should induce a lift from representations of SO2n+1 to representations of GL2n, and this was studied by Jiang and Soudry. However, the arguments used by Jiang and Soudry are of global nature and the aim of this work is to describe explicitly this lift, when n = 2 (the case n = 1 is already known), for level zero generic representations, which are essentially determined by parameters over the finite residue field. Here the isomorphism between SO5 and PGSp4, as well as the isogeny between GL4 and GSO6 suggest that the lift could be realised by a sort of Howe correspondence. In this work, we generalize a result of Srinivasan and give the uniform projection of the Weil representation associated to a dual pair of similitude groups over Fq, when q is big enough.

Život a dílo Jiřího Weila po roce 1939 / Jiří Weil's Life and Work after 1939

Hříbková, Hana January 2019 (has links)
The dissertation summarises the life and work of renowned Czech Jewish writer, translator, journalist and scientist Jiří Weil (1900-1959) in the reference period 1939-1959. It presents the results of research conducted in more than twenty, both domestic and foreign archives (Literary Archive of the Museum of National Literature, Security Services Archive, National Archive, Archive of the Jewish Museum in Prague, Beroun Archive, Central Military Archive, Russian State Archive of Socio-Political History and others), accompanied by the accounts of selected eyewitnesses, placing events in a narrower historical context and presenting the life and work of Jiří Weil from a hitherto unknown perspective. Based on surviving archival material, Jiří Weil is presented not only as a hitherto well-known prosaist, but also as a translator of Polish and Hebrew, a poet, playwright, scientist and editor of a world-famous non-literary work that became the inspiration for other artistic transpositions (e.g. a play, film), Dětské kresby na zastávce k smrti 1942-1945 (Children's Drawings and Poems. Terezín 1942-1945). Brief analyses of the writer's selected published works, written and published in the reference period from 1939 to 1959, as well as unpublished works not yet known to the public, are also examined in a...

Orthogonal decompositions of the space of algebraic numbers modulo torsion

Fili, Paul Arthur 20 October 2010 (has links)
We introduce decompositions determined by Galois field and degree of the space of algebraic numbers modulo torsion and the space of algebraic points on an elliptic curve over a number field. These decompositions are orthogonal with respect to the natural inner product associated to the L² Weil height recently introduced by Allcock and Vaaler in the case of algebraic numbers and the inner product naturally associated to the Néron-Tate canonical height on an elliptic curve. Using these decompositions, we then introduce vector space norms associated to the Mahler measure. For algebraic numbers, we formulate L[superscript p] Lehmer conjectures involving lower bounds on these norms and prove that these new conjectures are equivalent to their classical counterparts, specifically, the classical Lehmer conjecture in the p=1 case and the Schinzel-Zassenhaus conjecture in the p=[infinity] case. / text

The Application of the Mordell-Weil Group to Cryptographic Systems

Weimerskirch, Andre 26 April 2001 (has links)
This thesis examines the Mordell-Weil group for application in cryptography. This approach has recently been proposed by Gerhard Frey. The use of the Mordell-Weil group for discrete logarithm schemes is a variant of elliptic curve cryptosystems. We extended the original idea by Frey with the goal of a performance improvement. The arithmetic complexity using the Mordell-Weil group will be compared to ordinary elliptic curve cryptosystems. The main goals of this thesis are (1) to investigate the algorithmic complexity of Mordell-Weil cryptosystems relative to elliptic curve cryptosystems; (2) the appropriate selection of the group parameters for a successful adaptation to different platforms; (3) a C++ library which makes it possible to easily use this algebra for cryptographic systems based on groups; and (4) to obtain software performance measures for the new cryptosystem. Point multiplication, the crucial operation for elliptic curve cryptosystems, is more than 20% less complex in the Mordell-Weil group than in an ordinary elliptic curve while preserving the same level of security. We show how to further improve the system such that it is particularly suited to 32-bit and 16-bit hardware platforms. The speed-up of the Mordell-Weil group approach comes at the cost of a slightly larger bit-size that is needed to represent a curve point and a more costly curve generation.

A method of Weil sum in multivariate quadratic cryptosystem

Harayama, Tomohiro 17 September 2007 (has links)
A new cryptanalytic application is proposed for a number theoretic tool Weil sum to the birthday attack against multivariate quadratic trapdoor function. This new customization of the birthday attack is developed by evaluating the explicit Weil sum of the underlying univariate polynomial and the exact number of solutions of the associated bivariate equation. I designed and implemented new algorithms for computing Weil sum values so that I could explicitly identify some class of weak Dembowski- Ostrom polynomials and the equivalent forms in the multivariate quadratic trapdoor function. This customized attack, also regarded as an equation solving algorithm for the system of some special quadratic equations over finite fields, is fundamentally different from the Grobner basis methods. The theoretical observations and experiments show that the required computational complexity of the attack on these weak polynomial instances can be asymptotically less than the square root complexity of the common birthday attack by a factor as large as 2^(n/8) in terms of the extension degree n of F2n. I also suggest a few open problems that any MQ-based short signature scheme must explicitly take into account for the basic design principles.
