AN ANALYSIS OF THE EVANGELISM THEOLOGY AND METHODOLOGY OF BILLY KIM (JANG HWAN KIM)

LEE, PIO 20 June 2017 (has links)
This dissertation examines Billy Kim’s evangelism theology and methodology. Chapter 1introduces Billy Kim’s half-century evangelistic ministry in Korea and points out how his evangelism theology and methodology are related with the growth and stagnation of Korean Protestantism. Chapter 2 points out the historical context of Billy Kim’s childhood and his ministry in Korea. Chapter 3 illustrates his journey from a houseboy, to a pastor, evangelist, and CEO. Chapter 4 examines Billy Kim’s theology, which drove his evangelistic ministry. It pinpoints how evangelical theology influenced the formation of his theology. Chapter 5 examines the methodology of his evangelistic ministry. Billy Kim’s fervor for evangelism, along with the timely support of American Evangelicals, contributed to the rapid growth of Korean Protestantism. Yet, changes in Korean society brought challenges to Billy Kim’s evangelistic ministry and slowed the growth of Korean Protestantism. Chapter 6 provides a conclusion and recommendations for overcoming the stagnation of the growth of Korean Protestantism in the present day.

The narrative approach to understanding the chronic illness experience /

Docherty, Deborah. January 2000 (has links)
This small exploratory study considers the use of the narrative approach in eliciting and understanding illness stories. The four participants, (two male and two female) range in age from 29 years to 74 years. They live with a variety of chronic illnesses (heart disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and Pick's disease). Narrative analysis of the four semi-structured transcribed interviews revealed four dominant themes: the emotional reaction to diagnosis; the role of stress in aggravating and coping with chronic illness; a view of death; the meaning attributed to illness. / A postmodern perspective is employed to explicate the social construction of the notion of chronic illness. A critique of the medical discourse regarding chronic health challenges is offered. / This study invites social workers to consider their position of power and privilege as they learn new ways of listening to illness narratives.

7 visioner för framtidens BIM : En studie kring vilka förändringar som krävs för att skapa ett branschvägledande arbetssätt för användandet av BIM / 7 visions for the future of BIM : A survey of the neccessary changes to create an industry-guiding way of working with the application of BIM

Andersson, Jonathan, Hällgård, Johan January 2015 (has links)
Cloud storage, communication platforms with interactive functions, virtual models that are merged with physical surroundings, computer simulations, life cycle perspective. This is what is being discussed in the corridors of the BIM-world. But if this is the future: why is the implementation so slow, and what exactly is to be implemented?   The process of handling and understanding what BIM is has become too complex, and in this report we want to find solutions for making the way of working intelligible and useful for a wider audience. In collaboration with Vianova Systems, we have investigated what the use of BIM looks like today and what improvements are needed for a wider future implementation in the AEC industry.   Our investigations show that almost 80 % believe that work which utilizes a digital model would be more effective: at the same time the insecurity concerning software and uncertainties regarding the implementation of the work methodologies are limiting factors. As a solution for this a user interface for project management and communication has been developed.   These investigations have been carried out with the aid of a questionnaire and interviews and compiled into two parts: partly this report, as well as an end product of visionairy nature called ”7 visions for the future of BIM”.

Propuesta de metodología de trabajo para la preparación e inyección de lechada en los sistemas de anclajes de muros pantalla para suelos gravosos de la ciudad de Lima / Proposal of work methodology for the preparation and injection of grout in the systems of anchors of walls for loamy soils of the city of lima

Mazuelos De la Cruz, Victor Manuel, Mercado Chávez, Ramiro Antonio 22 October 2021 (has links)
In our country, there is currently no standardized nor technical norms that involve the processes of preparation and injection of cementitious grout in wall anchor systems. In addition, companies are having performance problems in the anchor load test, which is directly influenced by the grout. For this, a proposal of methodology is presented to standardize the processes of preparation, injection in the systems of anchors of screen walls with loamy ground and quality control of cementitious grout in building. The research includes visits to buildings to collect information on the quality of labor, grout application processes and sampling for quality control. It also includes the evaluation of rheology and mechanical properties on a laboratory scale according to dosages required by the technical specifications of the UNE and ACI regulations. / Tesis

Ignatius Loyola and the internet : insights from Ignatian spirituality on the use of the internet for evangelisation.

Pollitt, Russell Edward. January 2008 (has links)
The internet has brought about a revolution in human communication, unparalleled, because of its ability to communicate instantaneously across the globe. It has transformed our culture and made, what seemed impossible, now achievable with the click of a mouse, from an office in a city or in the comfort of your lounge. The computer networks we use are far more than a means of communication. They are agents of social change. I try to analyse what impact the electronic media have on human worldview and behaviour. I highlight some of the challenges that electronic media pose: we are not sure how these media (and technologies) will continue to shape our lives as they develop at a rapid pace. Jesus of Nazareth spent his incarnate life proclaiming the reign of God and, in doing so, invited humanity into a relationship with God. He commissioned his disciples and, the whole Church in all time, to continue his proclamation of Good News. In obedience to his command the Church has, throughout history, used the communication technologies at her disposal to carry out this command. The internet makes another technology available to the Church. In this thesis I attempt to better understand the impact of communication technologies, specifically the internet, on the Church. I look at the relationship between the Church and mass media. I analyse how the Catholic Church has responded to the advent of the internet and, how the internet has been used for the task of evangelisation. I investigate some of the key documents of the Church on the means of Social Communication, focusing especially on those of the Second Vatican Council, in order to understand how the Church understands and perceives the media. Using the spirituality of St. Ignatius Loyola I offer an Ignatian Communications Model to help the Church use the internet more effectively for evangelisation. St. Ignatius lived in a time when another communication revolution took place: the advent of the Gutenberg printing press. I show how, using his spirituality, the Church can better use the internet for the task of evangelisation. / Thesis (M.Th.)-University of KwaZulu-Natal, Pietermaritzburg, 2008.

Teacher Developmen in Cuba : An analysis of two strategies

Buchberger, Helena January 2013 (has links)
The aim of this study is to describe two strategies of professional teacher development in Cuba and analyse how they affect the professional growth of the teachers. The strategies investigated are methodological work sessions and further education at the university. Eight upper-secondary school teachers were interviewed and it was analysed how their professional growth was affected by the Cuban professional development strategies. The model utilized was the interconnected model of professional growth (Clarke & Hollingsworth, 2002).The results show that, four of the eight interviewed teachers experienced change sequences and growth networks as a consequence of participating in the two investigated strategies. The methodological work sessions promote a collaborative approach among the teachers to developing the education in their school. Further education in the university, on the other hand, encourages the teachers to reflect individually on practical school-related problems. The results indicate that the organization of the work both the professional development strategies provided acted as an incentive for the interviewed teachers’ development.
