It investigates like the desires of civility of the local elite served as justification for the implementation of measures seeking the street workers' social discipline, as well as, of other popular groups. It demonstrates as the infractions to the determinations of the Codes of Municipal Positions in what it refers in general to the use of the urban space and, specifically, to the exercise of the street workers' activities it implicated in pejorative speeches on those that did of your street work atmosphere. It still identifies some of the professional categories that took the street as stage of exercise of your occupations and that way the free workers' rent had configured as a characteristic line of the inheritance Brazilian slavery. / Descrição e análise do trabalho de rua em São Luís do Maranhão no contexto histórico da passagem do século XIX ao XX. Investiga de que forma os desejos de civilidade da elite local serviram de justificativa para a implementação de medidas visando o disciplinamento social dos trabalhadores de rua, assim como, de outros grupos populares. Demonstra como as infrações às determinações dos Códigos de Posturas Municipais no que se refere de modo geral ao uso do espaço urbano e, especificamente, ao exercício das atividades dos trabalhadores de rua implicou em falas pejorativas sobre aqueles que faziam da rua seu ambiente de trabalho. Identifica ainda algumas das categorias profissionais que tomavam a rua como palco de exercício de seus ofícios e de que modo o aluguel de trabalhadores livres se configurou como um traço característico da herança escravista brasileira.

Tomando como ponto de partida a inserção dos processos de independência luso e hispano-americanos como parte de uma mesma conjuntura revolucionária mundial, a presente pesquisa aborda as trocas de experiências políticas entre o Vice- Reino do Peru e a América Portuguesa no contexto mencionado. Investiga-se a leitura do mundo luso-americano na imprensa e na política hispano-peruana entre os anos de 1808 e 1822, aventando a possibilidade de que o compartilhamento de experiências políticas entre o Vice-Reino do Peru e a América portuguesa possa ter influenciado as percepções, os projetos e as reações desses espaços diante da crise do Antigo Regime na América / The present research approaches the exchanges of political experiences between the Vice-Reign of Peru and the Portuguese America during their independence processes, starting from the assumption that they were part of the same world revolutionary conjuncture. The Vice-Reign of Peru and the Portuguese America are seen in relation to their reciprocal determination in this context, focusing on the reading of the Luso-American world in the Peruvian press and politics between 1808 and 1822. It seeks to understand how the sharing of experiences between the Vice-Reign of Peru and the Portuguese America influenced the perceptions, the projections, and the reactions of these spaces towards the crisis of the Ancient Regimen in the Portuguese America

O presente trabalho se propõe a observar e analisar os encontros entre o Brasil e o México durante seus processos de independência (1808-1822), entendendo que, por meio desses encontros ambos trocaram experiências políticas em meio a uma mesma unidade histórica. Os espaços americanos escolhidos foram estudados a partir da leitura do mundo lusoamericano na imprensa periódica da Nova Espanha. No entanto, o olhar sobre o fenômeno contrário também foi objeto deste estudo. Assim, buscamos compreender os pontos de contato político, entre o Brasil e o México, em meio à crise do Antigo Regime no mundo ocidental. / This present study aims to observe and analyze the meetings between Brazil and Mexico during their process of independence (1808-1822), understanding that, through these meetings both exchanged political experiences between a historic same unit. The chosen American spaces were studied from reading lusoamerican world in the periodical press of New Spain. However, the look on the opposite phenomenon was also the subject of this study. So, we seek to understand the political points of contact between Brazil and Mexico, through the crisis of the Old Regime in the Western world.

Esta dissertação analisa as descrições populacionais escritas por Richard Francis Burton entre os anos de 1849 e 1869, publicadas em seus relatos de viagem sobre as regiões da Índia, Península Arábica, África Oriental, Central e Ocidental, e Brasil (viagens realizadas entre 1847 e 1867). O objetivo deste trabalho é notar as transformações nestas descrições e relacioná-las ao lugar de autoridade, à experiência da viagem e à alguns conceitos oriundos da etnologia e antropologia inglesa por volta deste período. A hipótese é que estes elementos interagem na construção do texto do autor e que a compreensão do conteúdo destas descrições torna-se bastante mais efetiva quando se considera esta interação. As posições ambíguas de Burton em especial quanto aos debates entre opções teóricas monogênicas e poligênicas tornam-se mais compreensíveis a partir do ponto de vista que analisa suas descrições através da observação destes três elementos. / This dissertation analyses the populational descriptions written by Richard Francis Burton between 1849 and 1869, published in his books of travel above the regions of India, Arabic Peninsula, East, Central and West Africa, and Brazil (travels achieved between 1847-1867). The aim of this work is to note the transformations in these descriptions and connect them with the authority position, the experience of each travel, and the production of British ethnology and anthropology around those years. The hypothesis is that these elements interact in the construction of the author’s writings, and that the understanding of these descriptions’ contents become much more effective when this interaction is considered. Burton’s ambiguous positions, specially on the debates between monogenic and poligenic theoretic options, become more understandable when observed by the point of view which analyses his descriptions throughout the observation of these three elements.

Cette recherche propose une analyse de l’œuvre journalistique et littéraire de l’écrivain mexicain Ángel de Campo [1868-1908], étudiée dans son contexte culturel, social et historique. Elle répond à un questionnement qui relève d’une problématique littéraire : comment le contexte de la modernité émergente opère-t-il et influence-t-il les récits d’Ángel de Campo ? En particulier, comment l’écrivain rend-il compte des métamorphoses de la ville de Mexico dans ses chroniques de la « Semana Alegre » [parues dans le journal El Imparcial entre 1899 et 1908] ? Que découvre-t-il et que critique-t-il par le biais de ce genre littéraire ? Quelle est l’idéologie sous-jacente dans ces chroniques ? La recherche souligne l’usage particulier que De Campo fait de l’esthétique réaliste pour rendre compte des événements immédiats de la période / This study suggests an analysis of the journalistic and literary work of the Mexican writer Angel de Campo [1868-1908], seen in its cultural, social and historical context. It answers a questioning that reveals a literary problematic: how does this emerging modern context operate and influence the writings of Angel de Campo? How does the writer in particular render the metamorphosis of the Mexican city in his chronicles of the so-called Semana Alegre [first published in the journal El Imparcial between 1899 and 1908]. What does he discover and criticise via this literary gender? What is the ideology underlying these chronicles? This research underlines De Campo’s particular use of realistic a esthetics in order to render the immediate events of the period

XIX century turned to be significant for formation of concert life of Kharkov; that was caused by variety of stimulus among which was the opening of the University (1804), short functioning of the first branch of the Imperial Russian Music Society (IRMS, 1864–1866) and socially-educational activity of Ilya Slatin (1845–1931), the head of a new branch of the IRMS (1871–1918).

Le présent travail enrichit la thématologie à un double niveau, à la fois par une réflexion méthodologique sur les différents modes de manifestation du thème, et par une meilleure connaissance d'un "mythe" littéraire précis, celui de sainte Marie-Madeleine, dont la vitalité ne laisse aucun doute, tant dans la fréquence de l'utilisation du personnage depuis deux mille ans, que dans l'originalité des interprétations, malgré d'inévitables redites et banalités. Sur la base d'une analyse minutieuse des différentes composantes du thème magdaléen dans la littérature franco-belge d'expression française après 1814, et des incarnations féminines qui s'en dégagent, cette thèse définit les contours du visage de la Madeleine de ces deux derniers siècles, et démontre la raison fondamentale de la permanence de la figure évangélique à travers les siècles : sa rencontre immédiate, et constante, avec le motif de la Femme dans la civilisation judéo-chrétienne.

Esta pesquisa investiga mecanismos construtivos e interpretativos que fizeram com que algumas pinturas fossem compreendidas como alegorias na segunda metade do século XIX no Brasil. A análise está centrada sobre duas obras do pintor paraibano Pedro Américo (1843-1905): Estudo para Libertação dos Escravos (1989) e Pax et Concordia (1902). A investigação é ampliada para o diálogo que essas pinturas estabeleceram com outras obras do mesmo contexto e com as concepções de alegoria existentes no Brasil em fins do século XIX. / This research scopes out productive and interpretative mechanisms which have made that some of the paintings were to be believed as allegories in the second half of the XIX century in Brazil. This analysis is focused on two of the works of the paraibano painter Pedro Américo (1843-1905): Estudo para Libertação dos Escravos (1989) e Pax et Concordia (1902). The scope out is extended to the conection that these paintings have with other works of the same conditions and with the conceptions of allegory in Brazil at the end of the XIX century.

A dissertação possui como objetivo desenvolver uma análise de O Primo Basílio de Eça de Queirós com ênfase na configuração da personagem Luísa, bem como na conduta da própria ao longo do enredo, evidenciando seu caráter transgressor ante a sociedade aburguesada lisboeta da segunda metade do século XIX. Proceder-se-á, ademais, a uma leitura situando as críticas contemporâneas e posteriores à publicação da obra em 1878 sobre esses aspectos do romance. / This works aims to present an analysis of Cousin Basilio by Eça de Queirós regarding more attentively the character of Luisa, as well as her behavior during the action, showing her rule-breaker role upon the Lisbon borgeousy nineteenth century society. Also, shall be proceeded an exploration of these particular matters in the contemporary and posterior criticism about this subject of the book.
