Aktivt empatiskt lyssnande (AEL) : En kvantitativ studie av säljare i kunskapsintensiva branscher

Bergström, Maria, Wellgren, Anne-Charlotte January 2016 (has links)
Aim: Previous research shows that AEL impacts a salesperson's performance and provides better customer relationships. The purpose of this study is to measure the salesperson's self-perceived ability to use AEL during client meetings and analyze the relationship between AEL and gender, age, experience, and salary in knowledge-intensive trades. Method: The study applies quantitative methods and theory deduced hypotheses to investigate relationships. A closed web survey was conducted for data collection. Data was analyzed using correlation analysis in SPSS and then presented in tables and figures. Result & Conclusions: The study does not show a relationship between AEL and salary, age or experience. However, there is a weak positive correlation between AEL and female brokers. The study showed a correlation between questions related to responding with salary, age, experience, and gender. Suggestions for future research: One limitation of a self-rated questionnaire is that the respondent may underestimate or overestimate issues that particularly affect attitudes.  It would be interesting from a customer perspective to examine how they perceive the broker in cases where we did not find a direct connection. The study showed a correlation between questions related to responding with salary, age, experience, and gender. This means that future research should focus on how the broker responds when they are listening to the customers and how customers perceive empathy. Contribution of the thesis: We conclude that AEL does not have an absolute connection with how successfully a salesperson is performing. Age and experience are not correlated. The only factor consistent with previous research is that women are better users of AEL. This practical guide managers when discussing the recruitment and training of personnel. Training must be more realistic.

Méthodologie de CAO innovante pour la conception de MMICs prenant en compte les pertes des éléments réactifs des technologies intégrées / Innovative CAD methodology for low noise MMICs, including lossy passive component models from foundries

Lanzeray, Sylvain 21 December 2018 (has links)
Due to the evolution of wireless systems and data rate, it is necessary to increase microwave operating frequencies, especially in space industry. Optimization of existing circuit topologies are always not enough and therefore, we need to synthetize new circuits. Unfortunately, most of the existing synthesis methods, including in CAD softwares, are only based on lossless passive component models. With the increase of operating frequency, we need to take the effect of losses in the passive component models during synthesis. This thesis introduces a new synthesis and design method for low noise integrated circuits(low noise amplifier and mixer). Lossy passive component models from foundries, connecting wires, junctions and co-design (amplification and filtering or mixing and filtering)are included. The design procedure was validated by simulations and measurements.

Modeling of an Electrolysis System for Techno-Economic Optimization of Hydrogen Production

Köstlbacher, Jürgen January 2023 (has links)
In face of climate change, Europe and other global actors are in the process of transitioning to carbon-neutral economies, aiming to phase out of fossil fuels and power industries with renewable energies. Hydrogen is going to play a crucial role in the transition, replacing fossil fuels in hard-to-decarbonize industries and acting as energy carrier and energy storage for renewable electricity. However, the hydrogen production method with the lowest carbon intensity, water electrolysis in combination with renewable electricity, is often not cost competitive to other production methods. Even though policies and initiatives are providing subsidies to scale up low-carbon hydrogen production, companies hesitate to invest due to the complexity of hydrogen production systems and the uncertainties of cost competitiveness. This research aims to develop a tool for optimizing the capacity of a water electrolysis system to produce low-carbon hydrogen and to lay the groundwork for optimizing the operation of electrolysis hydrogen production plants. The objective is to find the optimal plant capacity to achieve the lowest cost of hydrogen production for a defined hydrogen demand and energy supply. The scope is limited to the electrolysis system as optimizing asset which is modeled with technology-specific costs and characteristics, gained from manufacturer interviews and internal company data. This includes the often neglected characteristics of load-dependent efficiency and degradation effects. Further, the tool is enabled to buy and sell electricity on the spot market according to predicted prices in order to minimize the electricity costs. The developed tool is tested, benchmarked and applied to two different industry-based test scenarios in Germany and Portugal. The test scenario in Germany describes a mid-scale hydrogen production case for a transport application with a demand increase over 10 years (80 to 1,800 tons per year) and regional renewable energy supply via power purchase agreements. The lowest costs of hydrogen production for this scenario can be reached with an alkaline electrolysis system of a capacity of 16 MWel considering only renewable energy sources, achieving a LCOH of 4.75 €/kg of green hydrogen. The second test scenario describes a large-scale production case in Portugal for application in the refinery industry. The yearly hydrogen demand increases from 5,000 tons up to 17,100 tons within three years and is assumed to stay constant for the residual years. The electricity for the electrolysis process is secured through large solar PV and offshore wind power purchase agreements. Utilizing the alkaline electrolysis technology with a capacity of 128 MWel, a LCOH of 3.31 €/kg of green hydrogen can be achieved at the output point of the plant. The study concludes that the optimal solution and the achievable hydrogen production costs are highly dependent on the hydrogen demand (quantity and profile), the energy supply (quantity, profile, costs), and the chosen technology (efficiency, degradation, costs) and need to be evaluated under the case-specific prerequisites. The thesis further highlights the significant impact of the electrolysis system efficiency and capital expenditures on the capacity decision and achievable hydrogen production costs.

Development aid and its impact on poverty reduction in developing countries : a dynamic panel data approach

Mahembe, Edmore 08 1900 (has links)
Foreign aid has been used on the one hand by donors as an important international relations policy tool and on the other hand by developing countries as a source of funds for development. Since its inception in the 1940s, foreign aid has been one of the most researched topics in development economics. This study adds to this growing aid effectiveness literature, with a particular focus on the under-researched relationship between foreign aid and extreme poverty. The main empirical assessment is based on a sample of 120 developing countries from 1981 to 2013. The study had two main objectives, namely: (i) to estimate the impact of foreign aid on poverty reduction and (ii) to examine the direction of causality between foreign aid and poverty in developing countries. From these two broad objectives, there are six specific objectives, which include to: (i) examine the overall impact of foreign aid (total official development assistance) on extreme poverty, (ii) investigate the impact of different proxies of foreign aid on the three proxies of extreme poverty, (iii) assess whether political freedom (democracy) or economic freedom enhances the effectiveness of foreign aid, (iv) compare the impact of foreign aid on extreme poverty by developing country income groups, and (v) examine the direction of causality between extreme poverty and foreign aid. To achieve these objectives, the study employed two main dynamic panel data econometric estimation methods, namely the systemgeneralised method of moments (SGMM) technique and the panel vector error correction model (VECM) Granger causality framework. While the SGMM was used to assess the impact of foreign aid on extreme poverty, the panel VECM Granger causality was used to examine the direction of causality between foreign aid poverty. The SGMM was used because of its ability to deal with endogeneity by controlling for simultaneity and unobserved heterogeneity, whereas the panel VECM was preferred because the variables were stationary and cointegrated. / Economics / D.
