Die problematiek van klavierbladlees, spesifiek die konseptualisering van die tweedimensionaliteit van musieknotasie (Afrikaans)Fourie, Ella 29 October 2012 (has links)
Abstract only in Afrikaans. Talle oorsake van die swak bladleesstandaard kan teruggevoer word tot probleme met die waarneming van die kompleksiteite van die tweedimensionele notebeeld. 'n Oorsig van die belangrikste navorsing wat oor hierdie twee dimensies - toonhoogte en toonduur - gedoen is, word ten aanvang gegee. Die denkhandelinge van die kognitiewe-, psigomotoriese- en affektiewe leerdomeine word breedvoerig ondersoek, die verband hiervan met die bladleesproses aangetoon en ernstige probleme en leemtes betreffende bladleesopleiding blootgelê. Wat kognitiewe denkhandelinge betref word onder andere gewys op die feit dat die eienskappe van ken en kennisverwerwing op die vroegste stadium van musikale ontwikkeling grootliks verontagsaam word. Eweneens kom probleme in die ontwikkeling van psigomotoriese denkhandelinge voor omdat die gebeuresekwense vir optimale motoriese ontwikkeling aan die meeste onderwysers en leerlinge onbekend is. Dit blyk ook dat affektiewe gedrag by bladlees meesal 'n negatiewe konnotasie het. Daar is by leerlinge onsekerheid en vrees vir bladlees met 'n gevolglike faal-angs wat die bladleespoging kan laat misluk. Vervolgens word aandag geskenk aan die funksies van die onderskeie geheuestore van die brein, die proses van blokvorrning en die verskynsel van hemisferisiteit. Die invloed van interferensie op die leesproses en op oog-hand-span tydens bladlees asook die konteks-sensitiwiteit van die korttermyngeheue en die implikasies daarvan, word uitgewys. Die waarde van blokvorming, waardeur musieksimbole as eenhede waargeneem word en daar nie op enkelnote gekonsentreer word nie, word beklemtoon. Die moontlikheid dat individue as leergestrem beskou kan word as gevolg van hemisferiese spesialisasie of laterale dominansie en die moon tlike effek daarvan in die bladleessituasie, word in 'n ernstige lig beskou. Indringende navorsing oor sowel die positiewe as negatiewe aspekte van hemisferiese spesialisasie, word bepleit. 'n Deeglike ontleding word gedoen van die foute wat in 32 bladleestoetse gemaak is. Foutering met die mees algemene komponente van toonhoogte en toonduur in isolasie sowel as in musicale konteks, word gerneet. Die ooreensternrning van fouteringswyses in verskillende moeilikheids-grade en toetse en die omvang en herhalende aard van foute, dui op grondliggende probleme in die mondering van bladlesers. Die verband van hierdie foute en probleme met die denkhandelinge van die leerdomeine en met breinfunksies asook moontlike oorsake vir die foute en probleme, word bespreek en toegelig. Talent retention among trainers and learners in a mining environment / Nyaradzo ChidyamakonoChidyamakono, Nyaradzo January 2010 (has links)
Global growth in mining activities has resulted in stiff competition for talented employees and characterised the mining industry with high turnover rates. The South African mining environment has not been an exception to this phenomenon. The aim of this study was to inform the design of talent retention strategies through determination of turnover intention predictors and exploration of the turnover process experienced by employees. The study hypothesised that job satisfaction and affective organisational commitment mediate the effect of overall justice, centralisation, trust and job challenge on turnover intentions. A cross-sectional survey design with a random sample of trainers and learners from a South African gold mining company was used (n=171 and n=230, respectively). Results indicate that job satisfaction mediates the effect of centralisation on turnover intention for learners. Only job satisfaction directly predicts turnover intention for trainers, and overall justice and trust play a direct role in the prediction of turnover intention for learners. It was also found that job challenge predicts job satisfaction for trainers, whilst job challenge, centralisation and trust predict job satisfaction for learners. Therefore, to retain trainers, the mining company should focus on enhancing those factors that facilitate job challenge perceptions and job satisfaction. Job insecurity in a retail bank in South–Africa : scale validation and an exploration of negative attitudinal outcomes / Prinsloo M.Prinsloo, Mariechen January 2011 (has links)
The objective of this study was, firstly, to investigate the reliability of a measure of qualitative and
quantitative job insecurity and, secondly, to determine the relationship between qualitative and
quantitative job insecurity, job satisfaction, affective organisational commitment, turnover intention and
locus of control. A cross–sectional survey design was used which included participants randomly selected
from a retail banking group across junior, supervisory and middle management levels (n=178). The job
insecurity scales of Hellgren, Sverke and Isaksson (1999); job satisfaction scale of Hellgren, Sjöberg and
Sverke (1997); affective organisational commitment scale of Allen and Meyer (1990); turnover intention
scale of Sjöberg and Sverke (2001) and the locus of control scale of Levenson (1981) were administered.
Descriptive statistics were used in order to analyse the data. Structural equivalence was used for the
comparison of the factor structures of the job insecurity scale for the three language groups. Furthermore,
in order to determine the relationships between the variables, the Pearson product–moment correlation
coefficients were used, while the dependent variable turnover intention was predicted by means of a
regression analysis.
As indicated at the outset, two research articles form the basis of this mini–dissertation:
Based on the first article, results indicate that both the qualitative and quantitative scale presented
satisfactory levels of reliability across different language groups, and a relationship between these
dimensions (quantitative and qualitative) was noticeable. However, the item “I think my future prospects
and opportunities within the organisation are good” included in the qualitative job insecurity scale could
well be problematic, the deduction being that language barriers probably played a role in participants’
interpretation of the question.
According to the second article, both qualitative and quantitative job insecurity positively related to
turnover intentions. Furthermore, job satisfaction reported a negative relationship with turnover intention,
and a negative relationship between qualitative job insecurity and job satisfaction came to the fore. Locus
of control, on the other hand, had a direct bearing on qualitative job insecurity, while only job satisfaction and quantitative job insecurity directly predicted employees’ turnover intention in the banking sector.
Finally, locus of control seemingly had no mediating effect when predicting turnover intention.
Based on the afore–going, this mini–dissertation will conclude by offering deductions and making
recommendations for further research as well as offering possible solutions to the commercial banking

Identifisering en meting van emosies by die primêreskoolleerder / The identification and measurement of the emotions of the primary school pupilBodenstein, Hermanus Carel Andries 03 1900 (has links)

Pupils exists. There is nevertheless a dire need for a reliable measuring instrument for
this purpose. Initially a literature study was undertaken and emotions from the
developmental stages of primary school pupils were identified and described. An
existing instrument of measurement for personality, the Emotions Profile Index (EPI),
was adapted and implemented as a new measurement instrument to determine the
emotions of primary learners. Questionnaires were completed by the parents of 144
grade 3 and 4 pupils during an empirical investigation. The degree of reliability of the
new measurement instrument is particularly high. Stanines were developed for each
of the different emotions. The conclusion arrived at is that the education psychologist
can implement the newly adapted EPI as diagnostic instrument and conduct the
planning of his therapy accordingly / Daar bestaan nie 'n sp sifieke meetinstrument wat primere leerders se emosies kan
bepaal nie. 'n Groot behoefte bestaan egter aan s6 'n betroubare meetinstrument. 'n Bestaande
