This thesis describes the development for mobile devices, with a focus on cross platform development. It introduces the most used tools for multiplatform development and their principles. It also deals with design and implementation of mobile application for iOS and Android operating systems. This application serves for management of time spent on various projects and tasks using graphs and statistics. It also provides tools for better management of team projects for small businesses and entrepreneurs.

This master's thesis focuses on development of mini-applications for portal environments called portlets. Portal is an alternative type of web information systems used to dynamic portlet management, content personalization and aggregation of content from different data sources. The aim of this thesis is to try an alternative combination of technologies of portals, portlets and portlet bridges. This thesis is one of the first demonstrations of the described combination of technologies and will be used as an educational material by Red Hat company for development of portlets on their portal GateIn. The set of portlets manages user calendars, tasks and contacts. The theoretical part of this thesis compares existing tools for time management and mentions standards for data exchange in this domain. Subsequently it describes all important technologies used in this thesis. The practical part describes the design and the implementation of portlets and evaluates results of this work. The development of the described set of portlets proved that combination of technologies of portals, portlets and portlet birdges is fast and appropriate way how to develop information systems.

abstract: Incoming freshman at East Los Angeles College were struggling with successfully completing their first semester, leading to low rates of course success and retention. Students reported struggles with adapting to the culture of college, particularly with behaving like a college student and managing time. The purpose of this action research study was to determine if embedding a College Success Curriculum (CSC) into a required class would help students more successfully navigate the first semester. The CSC was embedded into the action-researcher's freshman composition class and covered the following concepts: appropriate classroom behavior, communication, time management, and organization. Quantitative data included retrospective pre-intervention and post-intervention survey data. Qualitative data included the researcher's journal and student-written journal entries. Findings from this study indicated that students learned to communicate via email and to prioritize their time, however, the CSC did not have a measurable effect on students’ behavior, time management, or organization. Course success and retention after receiving the CSC remained at previous years’ rates. There continues to be a need to assist freshmen students in these critical college skills, and perhaps adapt some of the strategies used in this project for future iterations. / Dissertation/Thesis / Doctoral Dissertation Educational Leadership and Policy Studies 2019

Filová, A. Leadership of business groups in specifically segment. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2019. This Diploma thesis is focused on the business groups in direct selling (B2C). The aim of the thesis is to propose effective solutions for leadership of business groups, which provide efficient education, communication, planning and administration. In the first part of diploma thesis is a literary research on this subject. In the second part is own research about this subject. The own research contains from quantitative research with questionary survey, and quantitative research with semi-structured interviews. One part of the own research is analysis of the actual situation in count of dealers in the direct selling in the Czech Republic and the progress in four years ago. On the ground of founded detection is formulate recommendation for leaders, with according to age and gender of business groups.

Includes bibliography. / This study examines the role of time in the working lives of teachers in the Western Cape in the years 1989 and 1990. The study is based upon interviews with twelve teachers, all of whom were currently teaching or who had been teaching in the recent past. The interviews explored the attitudes and practices of the teachers regarding their timetables, free periods, extra-murals, marking practices and lesson preparation, meetings, homework practices, tests and examinations, and professionalism, in so far as these were affected by considerations of time. The study argues that conflict in schools is produced by the struggle for autonomy, particularly in the classroom practice of teachers, and that this struggle takes the form of competition for control of time. In particular, the study suggests that there are rankings of power and priorities in schools and that these can be better understood by examining the relationships between time, conflict and autonomy.

Grounded in self-determination theory (Deci & Ryan, 2000), the purpose of this study was to examine (a) the effects of the social environment, as defined by the divisions of the Department of Athletics, on student-athletes' perceptions of basic needs satisfaction, (b) the effects of basic needs satisfaction on well-being, and (c) the effects of time demands, during in-season and off-season, on well-being, among student-athletes at Portland State University (PSU). Participants were student-athletes at PSU (n = 118). The participants completed a multi-section survey assessing basic needs satisfaction and well-being. Cumulative mean scores highlighted the satisfaction of the basic psychological needs as an indicator of positive well-being. The satisfaction of the need for competence emerged as the most important predictor of well-being. In-season time demands may contribute to a lower degree of well-being. The findings suggest that particular aspects of the social environment may be relevant for nurturing the basic psychological needs. The results also emphasize the importance of satisfying the three basic psychological needs in order to create an atmosphere that contributes to positive well-being.

The purpose of this study was to identify how elementary public school principals are spending their time while at school by sampling the population of elementary public school principals in California. A secondary purpose was to identify differences between how California elementary public school principals spend their time in relation to the size of the building they serve (number of students), age of the principal, years of administrative experience, and time employed at their current school. Based on the principals' responses to this study, there appears to be a connection between what the literature identifies as critical components of effective instructional leadership and what practitioners are actually doing.

Therefore, a marketing methodology called inbound marketing is planned, which is modified and adapted to the case study. In contrast, tools such as ABC classification, workflow, and inbound marketing have been used as a structure of the proposed methodology to solve the problem. The implementation of this methodology resulted in an increased efficiency of quote development and an enhanced performance ratio thereof. In conclusion, it is possible to measure the financial impact of the methodology implementation which has been beneficial for the company under study. Business performance in the last month of implementation improved by 10%.

The purpose of this investigation is to contribute to the body of knowledge in the area of effective time management skills among African American and Hispanic male student athletes and their academic achievement utilizing the Educational Longitudinal Study of 2002 (ELS: 2002) Base year thru the First follow-up database. The researcher has assessed indicators (socioeconomic status, time use patterns, sports participation, and race) within the construct of academic achievement among African American and Hispanic male high school student athletes. Their contribution to the main effects revealed that statistically significant differences exist between the non-sports participant and sports participant groups. After controlling for time spent completing mathematics homework and socioeconomic status, the findings revealed that time spent completing math homework was significantly related to academic achievement for African American and Hispanic male student athletes. Time spent watching television was not significantly related to academic achievement for African American and Hispanic male student athletes. For the variable time spent playing on the computer game, the analysis indicated that the detrimental effect of time spent playing video/computer games was the same for African American and Hispanic male student athletes. Finally, it is noteworthy that effective use of time (i.e., playing video games less) and sports participation positively influences academic achievement of African American and Hispanic males high school student athletes. Strategies were uncovered for possible future research among African American and Hispanic male student athletes to increase academic achievement levels.
