Informationsdesign i samhällsinformation : fallstudier i ett flerkontextuellt perspektiv

Udd, Staffan January 2006 (has links)

Svenska avhandlingar och uppsatser i en interpretativ innehållsanalys / Library and information science : a definition of positions. Swedish dissertations and master’s theses in an interpretative content analysis

Hamrin, Göran, Hedell, Kia January 2013 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to gauge the current state of Swedish library and information science research. LIS is generally defined as a cross- or multidisciplinary subject, according to some coupled with heterogenity or dichotomy within the subject. In light of Jack Meadows’s description of the scientific community growth and scientific communication, the following two research questions are formulated as basis for the study: 1. What are the current themes, what range of theories and methods are used in our research material? 2. What are the relationships between our research material with respect to choice of themes, theories and methods used, compared with the image given in earlier studies of LIS research? Our research material consists of all Swedish licentiate and doctoral theses in LIS defended at Swedish universities 1993-2011 and all master’s theses published at three different Swedish LIS departments (Borås, Lund and Uppsala) during the years 2008-2009. The theses have been collected and processed using an interpretative content analysis, which includes categorisation of themes, theories and methods, as well as statistical analysis. A compilation of the results suggests the dominance of certain categories of themes, theories and methods. The dominating themes are focused on different aspects of the Library as an entity. The dominating theories are sociological or philosophical (used alone or in combination), and the prominent methods used are interviews and text analysis. The results overall agree with earlier studies from the 21st century. However, studies from the 1990s show a different distribution of theme categories in older research publications in LIS. This difference may be attributed to different research trends over time, but also to the specific versions of content analysis applied. / Program: Bibliotekarie

Seminariet som ateljé? : När forskning blir konst / The seminar as studio? : When research becomes art

Engqvist, Jonatan Habib January 2014 (has links)
As higher artistic education explicitly becomes prepatory for research, the next generation of artists will inevitably be affected. How this change will constitute itself and whether the effect will be a reaction against or a product of this change is impossible to know. It is however already clear that artistic research is moving from periphery to centre in the Scandinavian art scene. Thus this pilot study essay asks how one can understand the position of the artwork produced within the context of artistic research: Is it a process, a product, a trace – or a combination of these? Is it possible to map the various layers of meaning produced? What does it mean to claim that art ”produces knowledge”? The essay focuses on three recent PhD´s in artistic research from Sweden. Rather than addressing formal questions of what artistic research is, or how art and research intertwine with each other, the investigation attempts to focus on when artists are making art within the context of artistic research, when they are doing something else.

Den statsvetenskapliga diskursen : En innehållsanalys av statsvetenskapliga doktorsavhandlingar 2000-2013 / The Discourse of Political Science : A Content Analysis of Doctoral Dissertations in Political Science 2000-2013

Nilsson, Stefan January 2014 (has links)
A possible "discursive turn" is believed to have been observed within Swedish political science in later years. The purpose of this study is to examine whether or not such a turn has actually taken place, in order to further determine if a resulting theoretical homogeneity poses a risk to the ability of Swedish political science to identify and respond to its full width of possible research problems, and to determine its perspectives on both these problems and the results that are later communicated to the general society. To do so, the study poses the following primary research question: "Has a discursive turn occurred within Swedish political science?" This question is then broken down into two specified research questions. "Has discourse analysis become a more common approach for doctoral dissertations in political science during the period of 2000-2013?" "Have ideas corresponding with discourse theory become more common within doctoral dissertations in political science that are not pure discourse analyses during the period of 2000-2013?" These questions are then answered by examining all known 406 doctoral dissertations in political science published in Sweden during the 21st century up until (and including) the year of 2013, using two forms of content analysis, one manual and one computer-assisted. The study finds no clear evidence of a discursive turn in Swedish political science since the turn of the century. The results demonstrate, however, that while ideas corresponding with discourse theory do not appear to have become unambiguously more common in recent times, they do appear in some form in a majority of the examined dissertations, albeit most often on the margin. The study finds no significant indications of a theoretical homogenisation that might impede upon the ability of political science to identify and respond to its full width of research problems. Discourse analysis appears to have a stable presence within Swedish political science, but does not appear to risk contributing to a homogenous research climate that might damage the plurality of research. Instead, it might be seen as a contribution to this plurality.
