Studiens syfte var att undersöka hur professionella på Barnahus skapar förutsättningar för barn att berätta om sexuella övergrepp. Datainsamlingen i denna kvalitativa studie gjordes genom nio semistrukturerade intervjuer och materialet analyserades mot kommunikationsteori och med hjälp av en tematisk nätverksanalys. Resultatet visade att professionella måste ha kunskap om barn och olika samtalsmetoder samt att det måste finnas en beredskap för att ta emot barnets berättelse. Studien visade även att en struktur för samtalet och att skapa trygghet för barnet är framgångsfaktorer för att barn ska våga berätta om sexuella övergrepp.Mer forskning behövs för att utveckla trygga samtalsmetoder för att möjliggöra för fler barn att berätta om övergreppen. / The aim of the study was to investigate how professionals at Children’s advocacy center (Barnahus) create conditions for children to talk about sexual abuse. The data in this qualitative study was collected through nine semi-structured interviews and the material was analyzed with thematic network analysis. Communication theory was used as an theoretical frame. The results showed that professionals must have knowledge of children and different counseling methods, and they must be prepared to listen to the child´s story. The study also showed that a structure for the conversation and creating security for the child are success factors helping children to tell about sexual abuse. More research is needed to develop safe conversation and counseling methods to enable more children to tell about the abuse.

This study aimed to investigate how Barnahus in Eskilstuna has implemented Article 12 on children's right to participate in the Convention on the Rights of the Child in their work with children exposed to violence, as well as the challenges that may arise. In order to investigate the implementation at Barnahus within the municipality, interviews were conducted with representatives of collaborating authorities and Region Sörmland. By analyzing the results based on Harry Shier's participation model, the concepts of child perspective and children's perspective, the study came to the following conclusions. The study shows that children are listened to, but that some children do not get the opportunity to come to Barnahus due to a lack of resources, long waiting periods and that other matters must be prioritized. Children are supported in expressing their opinions, but challenges emerge in the ability to adapt to different cultures and children's disabilities which can affect that children's perspectives does not get recognized. The study also shows a lack of time for the child's representative to prepare for a case, which can affect the ability to adopt a child perspective on the child's best interest. Children's views are taken into account in most parts of the process at Barnahus, but it is primarily the informants' views on the best interest of the child that guides the work. The scope for children's participation depends on their age, maturity and the authority's legal obligations. / Denna studie syftade till att undersöka hur Barnahus i Eskilstuna implementerat barnkonventionens artikel 12 om barns rätt till delaktighet i deras arbete med våldsutsatta barn samt eventuella utmaningar som kan uppstå. För att undersöka implementeringen på Barnahus inom Eskilstuna kommun genomfördes intervjuer med representanter för samverkande myndigheter och Region Sörmland. Genom att analysera resultatet utifrån Harry Shiers delaktighetsmodell, begreppen barns perspektiv och barnperspektiv kom studien fram till följande slutsatser. Studien visar på att barn blir lyssnade till men att vissa barn inte får möjligheten att komma till Barnahus på grund av resursbrist, långa väntetider och att andra ärenden måste prioriteras. Barn stöttas i uttryckandet av sina åsikter men utmaningar framkom i förmågan att anpassa sig till olika kulturer och barns varierande funktion som kan påverka att barns perspektiv inte kommer fram. Studien visade även på brist på tid för den särskilda företrädaren att läsa på om ärenden vilket kan påverka förutsättningar att inta ett barnperspektiv om vad som är barnets bästa. Barnets åsikter beaktas i de flesta delar av ärendeprocessen men det är främst informanternas barnperspektiv om barnets bästa som styr arbetet. Vilket utrymme barns delaktighet får beror också på dess ålder, mognad och myndighetens rättsliga skyldigheter.
