Problems of adult learners in adult basic education : a psycho-educational perspectiveMkhwanazi, Samson Qedusizi Nicholas 06 1900 (has links)
This study investigated the physical affective, cognitive and volitional problems of the learner in adult basic education (ABE) with reference to the learner's relationship towards the tutor, the learning content, the self, and family and friends.
The research design provided for a literature study of ABE in South Africa, as well as the personhood and relationships of the ABE learner. This was done to arrive at a research hypothesis concerning the relative impact of various categories of problems on the ABE learner.
The empirical summary had both quantitative and qualitative components. It was found that ABE learners are influenced by the following factors, listed in order of impact: affective problems; cognitive problems; problems related to the learning content, physical problems and problems related to family and friends. Positive fmdings were that volitional problems and problems related to tutors were relatively less significant.
In its recommendations the study emphasises the crucial role of, and need for professionally trained adult basic educators who can deal effectively with the personal and contextual problems of ABE learners. Moreover, the typical perseverance of ABE learners demands the establishment of excellent and responsive infrastructure for ABE provision, inter alia in provincial education departments. / Psychology of Education / M. O direito à educação de crianças e adolescentes: análise da atuação do Tribunal de Justiça de São Paulo (1991-2008) / The right to education of the childrens and adolescents: analysis of São Paulo Justice Court performance (1991-2008).Silveira, Adriana Aparecida Dragone 13 December 2010 (has links)
In the Federal Constitution of 1988 (CF/88) the right to education is declared as a fundamental right, social character, configuring a everyone right and duty of the State. However, there is a long way to be crawled so that everyone, without distinction, has access to education, and that this is quality. Recourse to the Judiciary can be one of the possibilities to make permanent. This thesis examines how the magistrates have esteemed and judged demands involving the rights of children and adolescents to education, in the context of the São Paulo Justice Court (TJ-SP), the judiciary instance appeal, in the period after the implantation of the Children and Adolescents Statute. The target is identify in which litigations consolidated a favorable jurisprudence to judicial enforceability and find potential barriers as to the interpretation of the right to education, trying to understand if judicial intervention enables extension of effective educational rights and consequently, the strengthening of the democracy. In the theoretical references attempted discuss the effectiveness and interpretation of standards related to the right to education, as a social law, in the Democratic State context adopted by CF/88, the process of Judiciary expansion to the protection of social rights and institutional characteristics of the Brazilian Judiciary, and judicial and the São Paulo Justice Court (TJ-SP). According the objectives, achieved the research with 483 decisions given by the TJ-SP, during the period 1991 to 2008. These documents, on the basis of the main demands and questions discussed in the processes, were organized and analyzed in wide categories: access to basic education; permanence; State responsibility; State regulatory power; policies and administrative decisions; management of public resources and parents obligations. From the general analysis of the decisions, denotes that the main obstacles to judicial enforceability of the right to education are related, primarily, to questions about the public budget, to the administrator discretionary limits and the Judiciary decisive area, and the attendance to the diffuse and collective demands involving the formulation and implementation of public policies. Noted that there is a tendency majority among of the TJ-SP members to accept more easily demands that required, individually or to a defined number of interested parties, the access to education, consolidating a favorable jurisprudence over the years, mainly with respect to early childhood education and special education. However, the magistrates were more resistant to accept requests related to policy or technical issues, whereas the argument of the separation of powers. Finally, the Judiciary constitutes an important instrument for consolidating to democracy, enabled identifiable claim the right to education, however it, becomes crucial to changing the conception of its members, regarding the interference of this institution in control of the action of public administration, when this not comply with the rights declared.

Educação musical e formação de professores: suíte e variações sobre o tema / Music Education and teacher training: suite and variations on the themeEsperidião, Neide 09 September 2011 (has links)
In the current context, characterized by transformations resulting from the phenomenon of globalization on societies, it is necessary to consider the emergence of Music Education as a field of knowledge that must be inserted in the so-called Educational Sciences. In this new scenario, the nature of the music-pedagogical knowledge has become more broadly and comprehensively, bringing new implications for teacher training. After the promulgation of the Federal Law no. 11,769/08 which stipulates compulsory music teaching in Brazilian schools of basic education, new challenges have arisen for the area, by the shortage of professionals to meet the great demand of schools. For this reason, there are new proposals and actions of music-pedagogical training in the current context, however these proposals are local and punctual. This research proposes to discuss such issues and investigate the challenges that students of Music, Music Education and Pedagogy face during their music-pedagogical educational training and also to present ideas that permeate some conceptions of the survey participants concerning Music Education, training and professionalization. Through the methodological approach of the new research-action, grounded in the assumptions of René Barbier (2007), it was sought to analyze and highlight the possible implications of that formative process on the relations established by students with music-pedagogical knowledge, as well as the transformations occurring in praxis and in the construction of a professional identity. The analysis and interpretation of the various aspects raised have pointed to the need for paradigm shift in music-pedagogical training of students and a more effective dialogue between the fields of Music and Education, especially because of the multiple demands of school and the different contexts of professional activity of a music educator.

Educação básica no Brasil e História e Cultura Africana e Afro-brasileira - competências e habilidades para a transformação social? / Basic Education in Brazil and African and Afrobrazilian History and Culture - abilities and proficiencies for social transformation?Sanchez, Livia Pizauro 03 July 2014 (has links)
Law 10.639/2003 has instituted the obligatory instruction of African and Afrobrasilian History and Culture in Basic Education curriculum on Brasil. This research tries to understand the reasons of its implementation difficulties, by retaking the historical routes coursed to its promulgation and by analyzing the federal Public Politics and the academic productions related to it, during its first ten years of validity. Cohesion between various educactional politics is a factor, between others, which contributes to that Law effectiveness. Thus, we have delimitated our specific object to perceive in which intensity and way the evaluation politics of Basic Education one of the spotlight politics on State operation in the area of Education can contribute to the object of Law 10.639/2003 implementation. We have adopted the content analysis technique to evaluate the tests of Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (ENEM). This exam still has a markedly white feature, being in images, mentions and ideas; it has approached, between 2003 and 2012, contents established by Law 10.639/2003, but with little frequency, without covering all relevant topics, putting only fifty per cent of them as central worries of the questions or as fundamental knowledge to the solution of them, without permeating all knowledge areas, and still reproducing stereotypes about neger people and/or about Africa. Approach has had a qualitative improvement since the year 2009. Large scale evaluations of Basic Education can contribute to implementation of Law 10.639/2003 because its contents have the potencial of providing visibility to the topics approached by it and of influencing what actually is been teached in classroom, diversifying and problematizing curriculum regarding to the topics established by such Law. This ability is limited, as the one of school itself, by its insertion on institucional State trappings, whose structure is permeated and maintained as such by racism; but it can contributes to tension and deconstruct such ideological bases from its own internal contradictions, by producing a counterdiscourse.

Leitura e produção de textos\" (2009-2011): a efemeridade dos projetos de leitura literária na rede estadual paulista / Reading and text production (2009-2011): the ephemerality of literature reading projects in the Sao Paulo State public schools curriculumAsbahr, Renata da Silva Ferreira 20 February 2014 (has links)
The present essay results from our masters degree research, in which we have studied the discipline Reading and Text Production (RTP LPT in Portuguese), that from 2009 to 2011 composed the curricular grade of the basic education second cycle (5th to 8th Brazilian grade/ actual 6th to 9th Year) in the Sao Paulo State public schools grade. Taught by Letters licensed teachers through two days a week classes, its purpose, according to governmental documents, was the formation of the literary reader. Besides the RTP, we approached projects of the State Secretary of Education (SSE SEE in Portuguese) from the past ten years (2004 2013) focused on literary reading. We have initiated with a history of the discipline, seeking to comprehend why the RTP had such a short duration, characteristic that is repeated in other projects, such as Weaving Readings (In Portuguese: Tecendo Leituras) and Reading Hour (In Portuguese: Hora da Leitura). To do so, we have conducted a survey on the official documents related to the RTP and further projects and made two semi-comprehensive interviews (KAUFMANN, 1996); the first one with two authors from the Teachers book of Reading and Text Production/ Caderno do professor de Leitura e Produção de Texto (SÃO PAULO, 2013); the second with a member of the Portuguese Language curricular team from the SSE. After that, we have made the description, analysis and interpretation of the source documents, in the molds proposed by Soares (1996) and the identification of the commonalities and discrepancies between the two interviews, creating themes to answer the questions that mobilize us. In relation to the theoretical references, we have made use of the contributions from the historical field of the scholar disciplines (CHERVEL, 1990; JULIA, 2001; GOODSON, 2008 and 2010); of researches from the Educational and Language field and of native language teaching (GERALDI, 2002; SOARES, 1999; DE PIETRI, 2007 and 2010); and of researches regarding the literature teaching and literature reading (ROUXEL, LANGLADE e REZENDE, 2012; JOUVE, 2004).
