Vítek, Jan January 2015 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is the exterior design of an urban electric vehicle and the implementation of technologies into the proposed design, which is promising for future applications in the automotive industry. The analytical part of this work is concerned with the history of electric vehicles, the available contemporary technologies and further analyses the visual properties of electric vehicles. The design of the electric vehicle is presented in the practical part. The shape and the composition of the vehicle is described in detail, and further the applied technologies, ergonomics and design elements of the electric car are presented.

Design cestovního automobilu / Car Design

Duchek, Tomáš Unknown Date (has links)
I chose car design, because I like to discover modern car accidence. I find developmnet in this part of design fascinating. I’d probably have most freedom while designing a sport car, but since its very popular theme among students, I went with car for traveling. At first I wanted to create a futuristic concept. So I mostly did just idea sketching, while focusing on dynamic shape. Later I started to add more functional aspects to the design. I wanted to create automobile, that would bypass private cars and minibuses. I tryed to make my car flexible for traveling even longer distances, also sideseeing and city transport, therefor big part of exteriour is covered by windows, which leads to weaker cabine. Thats why I made firmer side posts to support the roof. While designing I was influenced by recent concepts and latest technologies, that were presented by leading automobile companies, such as electric glas and glas shaping. I believe one of the most interesting parts on my car is the headlights, that are situated under the front window surface. The headlights and also partialy the engine is visible from above through the frontal glass hood.

Would you share a car? : A qualitative study on the factors affecting consumer participation in car-sharing systems.

Bemmouna, Asmae, Alyousif, Hedaya January 2020 (has links)
The sharing economy is an evolving economic model that is based on collaboration and sharing access to goods with other people. A leading example of this are car-sharing services, which allow people who are strangers to each other to access a car in return of a fee. Although these services are widely spreading across the globe, there is still a short understanding of the customer motives and barriers to engage in these services. The purpose of this thesis was to explore the factors that affect customer participation in carsharing services including motives and barriers. The study was designed to test and modify an adapted conceptual framework through conducting an abductive qualitative study in the form of semi-structured in-depth interviews with a total of 18 interviewees. The empirical findings of the study suggest that there is a total of 14 relevant factors affecting consumer participation in sharing services: 3 factors were related to consumption trends, 7 factors were identified as motives and 4 as barriers. Among all of these factors, economic motivations were recognized to be the most critical factor for customers. The results of this study are highly relevant to companies which operate car-sharing services when considering customer needs and demands.

Looking forward for chimeric antigen receptor therapy

Chen, Kevin Hui 14 June 2020 (has links)
Chimeric antigen receptors (CAR) are modular genetically modified receptors that consist of an extracellular antigen binding domain fused to intracellular T-cell signaling domains. CAR therapy broadly consists of engineering a patient’s own T-cells to express a CAR directed against a tumor cell surface antigen. This therapy has been extremely successful in treating B-cell neoplasms by targeting CD19 and is paradigm changing in developing personalized immunotherapy for oncology applications. Although impressive response rates are observed, the durability of therapeutic response remains a concern and relapse mechanisms frequently center around issues of antigen loss. In addition, heterogeneous disease and solid tumors present formidable barriers toward extending the applicability of CAR technology as a result of compounding issues of tumor microenvironment and cell trafficking. In this thesis we review the current thought on the state of CAR therapy and the challenges to therapeutic efficacy, therapeutic manufacture, and clinical safety in the context of each other with an overall emphasis on identifying the fundamental goal of making fit-for-purpose CARs for different diseases.
