[en] THE MEANING OF CHANGE OR THE CHANGE OF MEANING?: AN ANALYSIS ON IMPLEMENTING COMPETENCY-BASED MODELS IN PEOPLE MANAGEMENT / [pt] O SIGNIFICADO DA MUDANÇA OU A MUDANÇA DE SIGNIFICADO?: ANÁLISE DA IMPLANTAÇÃO DE MODELOS DE GESTÃO DE PESSOAS POR COMPETÊNCIASSILVIA BEATRIZ ALEXANDRA BECHER COSTA 18 October 2006 (has links)
modelos referenciais
(Weick, 1999; Klein, 1996; Ford & Ford, 1995; Van de Ven &
Poole, 1995;
Lewin, 1951). Utilizou-se uma abordagem qualitativa, com
múltiplos estudos de
caso.
economia brasileira
escolhido intencionalmente devido à intensidade e
complexidade de seu processo
de mudança: o setor de telecomunicações. Os dados foram
coletados por meio de
investigação documental, entrevistas semi-estruturadas e
questionários fechados.
As conclusões da pesquisa ressaltam a importância da
[en] Today s turbulent business environment demands speedy and
paradigmatic
changes. To meet these challenges, organizations are
adopting competency-based
people-management models as a response to the need for
greater individual
commitment and as an important strategy for gaining a
competitive edge (Dutra,
2004). This study analyzes the implementation of such
competency-based models
and their meaning for organizational change, as signaled
by the communication
initiatives the companies adopted, from the perspective of
different theoretical
frameworks (Weick, 1999; Klein, 1996; Ford & Ford, 1995;
Van de Ven & Poole,
1995; Lewin, 1951). Using a qualitative approach, multiple
case studies were
discussed. Seven companies from the telecommunications
sector were selected, as
representative of a high clock speed industry that in
Brazil continuously
undergoes intense and complex changes. The research
findings are based on
information collected from in-depth semi-structured
interviews, closed-answer
questionnaires and archival data. The findings reinforce
the importance of
communication efforts for putting a change project into
effect. They also highlight
the need to unravel the meanings triggered by information
strategies used during
the different phases of project implementation considering
the competency-based
HR management programs as examples of planned change.

Personal Puzzles: Exploring Meaning in a Printmaking WorkshopRydalch, Sally Jayne 01 March 2018 (has links)
In an effort to assist self-guided artists in constructing meaning and creativity through the technique of printmaking, the author has compiled a curriculum to engage these artist/students in thoughtful research, discussion, art-making, and critique. In this qualitative case study there are eight participants from age 14 to 79, with varying educational and art experience, who enrolled in a relief print workshop with no recompense other than participation. The particular benefits of learning relief printing are described. The author's goal is exploration of student responses to a curriculum centered around constructing meaning and engaging in introspective and informed discussion. In fostering open inquiry and analysis, the author was able to cultivate a place of personal discovery in a community class and gain insights into teaching, learning, and curriculum design.

The sustainable development and the energetic transition as well are main concerns in Europe. The construction sector is a fundamental driver of the reduction of the carbon footprint. Furthermore, most of the current practices does not take enough into account neither the occupants’ needs nor their behavior regarding the energetic performance. Grounded on the information-communication framework, this research focuses on the definition of the interactions between the actor and its habitat to lead the strategies of rehabilitation. In line with the semantico-actional paradigm, we provide evidence that a comprehensive approach enables the analysis of the process by which the users apprehend and appropriate a living space perceived as comfortable. Practically, it ensues from this analysis a better definition of the users’ needs and a guideline for the construction stakeholders to collect information about users’ expectations so as to satisfy them. In a sake of functionality economics concerning the thermal comfort, the purpose of this interdisciplinary investigation is twofold: First, the understanding of the users’ sense-making about the environment of the habitat. Second, the definition and the implementation of operating behavioral metrics in the technical optimization of the habitat. Referring to the method of listening to the needs and hierarchy of needs, developed by the DEVISU research center of the University of Valenciennes (France), we interpret the perceived comfort according to the main users’ profile in order to integrate it in the technical processes of rehabilitation.
