Förbättring av brandprojektering för arkitekter : En studie av samordningen mellan arkitekter och brandkonsulter samt framtagning av lathund angående brandfrågor / Improving the fire planning for architects : A study of the collaboration between architects and fire consultants, and also the making of a lighter manual regarding fire planning.

Blixt, Sofie, Svanteson, Karl January 2014 (has links)
Two important roles in all construction projects active today are the architects and the fire consultants. The architect´s main purpose is to give people a strong esthetic impression of the building but at the same time make it practical and safe for people to use. The fire consultant’s role is to help and support the architects to make the building safe to use, considering fire safety. This collaboration is not as effective as it could be in the current situation, and a few easy changes can be made to improve this working methodology. This bachelor thesis results in a lighter manual regarding fire planning, addressed to architects. The manual is based on the chapter in Boverkets Byggregler (BBR), which regulates the fire planning, the heavier handbooks that are being used today and also statistics regarding the most common difficulties between the two roles. The statistics are based on basic questionnaire surveys, interviews and literature studies. The manual will be a clearer tool for the architects, compared to the handbooks that are being used today. We are also going to introduce some alternatives and suggestions for possible improvements to the fire planning. This will result in a financial and temporal win for all parties involved.

Technical consultants’ perceived commitment at the workplace : A cross-sectional study about technical consultants' experience of organizational commitment and social identity.

Wallentin, Olivia, Wahlqvist, William January 2023 (has links)

The Cost Effectiveness of Behavioral Health Consultant Utilization for Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Cases in Rural Pediatric Primary Care

McCarter, Kayla, Petgrave, Dannel, Lilly, Courtney, Gouge, Natasha, Polaha, Jodi 01 April 2013 (has links)
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is the most commonly diagnosed behavior disorder in children. With the frequency of ADHD diagnoses, primary care providers (PCP) are challenged with managing this chronic and complex concern in an efficient yet effective way, both in terms of time and money. Research indicates behavioral diagnoses and management take approximately five minutes longer than medical-only concerns. This can result in a revenue loss for primary care practices. However, an on- site behavioral health consultant (BHC) can help PCPs provide a high standard of care for children presenting with behavioral concerns without compromising cost effectiveness. This study’s aim was to assess the cost per minute in a small rural primary care practice that utilizes an on-site BHC by comparing data between ADHD appointments when the BHC was utilized versus ADHD appointments when the BHC was not utilized. This study used extant data consisting of a sample of 53 children with ICD-9-CM codes 314.00 or 314.01, indicating an ADHD diagnosis. Of the 53 children with these codes, 40 (75.5%) were billed using E/M codes 99213 or 99214. The first of these indicates a regular office visit with an established patient not exceeding 15 minutes while the latter is used if the visit lasts longer than 25 minutes. Both codes were combined and evaluated together. The database was then recoded to indicate whether or not a BHC was utilized. Using descriptive statistics, it was found that children with ADHD spent a max of 69 minutes (20.19 minutes on average) with the PCP when a BHC was not utilized and a max of 22 minutes (13.67 minutes on average) when a BHC was utilized. Furthermore, an average of $82.79 in insurance reimbursement was received by the practice for these types of visits, regardless of up-coding for physician time spent. Using these statistics, it was determined that the practice makes $4.10 per minute when a BHC is not utilized versus $6.06 per minute when a BHC is utilized for ADHD appointments, due to the time savings ratio. The results indicate that utilization of a BHC increases revenue with respect to minutes spent with the child, while still providing behavioral health time and attention to the patient. These findings have practical implications for the treatment and management of ADHD and support the use of BHCs in pediatric primary care settings. Given the nature of pediatric primary care, it would be more cost effective for PCPs to utilize an on-site BHC with all ADHD visits.

Evaluating a Stepped Care Protocol for Postpartum Depression in a Pediatric Primary Care Clinic

Smith, Sarah C 01 August 2017 (has links) (PDF)
Postpartum depression (PPD) is a prevalent, complex illness impacting 10% to 20% of mothers and their families. Treatments for PPD, such as medication and psychotherapy, are effective at reducing the severity of symptoms and generally improving quality of life for new mothers and their families. Unfortunately, many mothers with PPD go unrecognized due to a lack of standardized screening methods. Further, mothers regularly encounter barriers to accessible, evidence-based follow-up care to treatment even when symptoms of PPD are detected. The use of a stepped care protocol, set in a pediatric primary care clinic, is one proposed strategy to address the insufficient rates of screening, detection, and maternal contact with treatment. This study examines the feasibility of implementing a stepped care protocol to screen and provide brief therapeutic treatment to mothers reporting symptoms of PPD in one pediatric primary care clinic. The RE-AIM (reach, effectiveness, adoption, implementation, and maintenance) framework was used to evaluate implementation outcomes. Results suggest this stepped care protocol was feasibly implemented in one pediatric primary care clinic. The protocol was largely successful in screening mothers at a majority of well child checks (83.76%) for PPD and connecting them with resources based on the severity of symptoms reported. Future studies should further evaluate the impact brief onsite mental health treatments have on reports of PPD symptoms, longitudinal maternal and child outcomes as a result of the protocol, as well as the protocol’s replicability to pediatric practices elsewhere.

Hur har digitaliseringen påverkat redovisningskonsulters arbete under covid-19-pandemin? / How has digitalization affected accounting consultants work during Covid-19?

chammas, patrik, Bahrami, Sina January 2022 (has links)
The work of accounting consultants has and will continue to evolve in connection withdigitalization. Sweden, alongside other countries, initiated a lockdown to minimizeCovid-19’s spread of infection. Despite having to work from home, accountingconsultants were able to perform their jobs without hindrance because of theprofession’s digitalization opportunities. The purpose of this study is to investigatehow digitalization has affected accounting consultant’s work during and after thepandemic, a qualitative research method in the form of interviews will be used toachieve the study’s purpose. The empirical material is based on twelve semi-structuredinterviews with accounting consultants in Stockholm city. A structured process of opencoding was adopted for the thematic analysis. The study’s results show that accounting consultants who were affected by thepandemic, tend to have a positive attitude towards the digitalization of their work. There are however some disadvantages such as the loss of socialization and the threatof possible technical difficulties. The conclusions drawn from the study’s results arethat the benefits of digitalization in this field of work outweigh the disadvantages, andthat an accounting consultant’s work will in the future consist more of economiccounseling as opposed to performing accounting services.

Haileab, Nomi, Hermis, Sandy, Tekle, Salina January 2023 (has links)
Digitalization is considered to be one of the most significant advancements in modern society. Development of the radiography evidence base: An examination of advancing practice

Snaith, Beverly January 2013 (has links)
Radiography has seen most development over the last 30 years with the evolution of new technologies, but perhaps more significantly changes in education models and radiographer roles. The development of advanced and consultant posts has facilitated the growth of the profession, although the evidence base is still evolving. Through a number of research projects this thesis will explore the growth in the radiography evidence base with specific reference to the extending role of the radiographer in image interpretation. Parallel clinical and academic developments have provided evidence of a scholarly profession which is slowly establishing its place through publication and a growing research base. / Please Note: The full text of each of the published articles, which are listed on page vii, has been removed from the PhD online copy due to publisher copyright restrictions. Management Consultants Managing Strategic Change : A qualitative study on management consultants’ function as change agents and their approach to strategic change processes, from the consultants’ perspective

Malki Jacoub, Malin, Jai, Sara January 2023 (has links)
The study aimed to develop the knowledge and provide a broader understanding of how management consultants (MC) manage strategic change, by examining their approach in relation to their function in strategic change processes. The literature review explored the function of MCs as change agents from four perspectives: standards setters, information sources, knowledge integrators, and knowledge brokers. Highlighting the client-consultant relationship as an aspect within their function. Additionally, the planned and emergent approach to change was presented. Based on the presented concepts, a conceptual framework was developed. A qualitative approach was taken where semi-structured interviews were conducted with MCs from different consulting firms to gather relevant data. Finally, the data was structured and thematically analyzed through our conceptual model.   There is no one-size-fits-all regarding managing strategic change. MCs focus on recognizing the unique context of each change process and client, implying that the MCs can function differently in different change processes. Furthermore, MCs approach strategic change processes in relation to their function as change agents by utilizing activities from both planned- and emergent activities, depending on the specific function they perceive they have.
