Afinando as Emoções no Centro Cultural Cartola: intervenção clínica no social / Brasil, Tuning Emotions in Cartola Cultural Center: Clinical intervention in social.Edna de Assunção Melo Chernicharo 06 November 2014 (has links)
This thesis presents and discusses an experiment on one developed from clinical practice demands that originated in their own field of research Cartola Cultural Center, sociocultural territory from the establishment of Tuning Emotions Clinic added practice psi. Järva Community Center : A social, cultural and religious hub for JärvaMahmud, Faisal January 2011 (has links)
Why this proposal makes sense... The aim of this project is to research the relationship between a mosque and the functions of a community center. It is located between Tensta and Rinkeby, two suburbs in the north of Stockholm. I believe that the two areas can gain a lot by a shared community center due to both positive and negative similarities. The proximity to Järvafältet and Kista is a great plus in the equation. Kista is another suburb in the Järva area and it has been a huge success with regards to education, entrepreneurship and the IT-industry that re- sides there. My goal was to create a contemporary mosque that stays true to Islamic architectural concepts while I develop a new aesthetic language for the spaces that a mosque requires. How can we use the mosque as an attracting catalyst in order to reach out to the inhabitants in these areas? A lot of people in Järva have roots in other parts of the world. There are a lot of vibrant communities from all over the world in Tensta and Rinkeby. People have great respect for faith and religious matters and consider it to be a major part of their identity. What spaces can a mosque share with the community center for opti- mal use and convenience? My proposal takes into consideration that a mosque has a limited num- ber of days during the year when the worshippers need all the space that they can get. I have therefore proposed to put the mosque next to the sports hall so that the sports hall can be used for prayer and spiritual activities during special events such as the month of Ramadan and Friday prayers. When the sports hall is not used by the mosque it goes back to being just a regular sports hall with an intricate roof. What makes it a community center? To make the project more compelling I have added other functions in order to address the needs and wishes of the inhabitants. There is also a library, a food court, lecture hall/cinema, offices, conference rooms, seminar rooms and a class room.

Mora Kulturhus / Mora Cultural CenterNabizada, Sajia January 2021 (has links)
The philosophy behind Mora Cultural Center is that it should be a place that invites its visitors to gather and experience creation and recreation. It should be a place that makes people disconnect to reconnect. Through the most primitive components that unite us such as dance, song, art, fire and the starry sky. The chosen location for the project is an opening in the forest between Kallfors and Järna. This place is currently empty and unused. There are good communications to the site, such as the motor way (Tvetavägen), well-known hiking trail (Sörmlandsleden) and a bus station (Pärlängsvägen). Close to the site you will also find Logsjön and Moraån. By activating this place, a natural communication flow is created between Kallfors- and Järna residents who currently experience a separation between each other. The program includes a theatre, art gallery, library, restaurant / café / bar, foyer, workshop space, conference room and office space. Mora Cultural Center is divided into three buildings with different heights that are connected by suspended roofs that overlap and create outdoor corridors. The position of the buildings creates a courtyard. The building is lifted by glulam and concrete pillars that meet a coffer ceiling in tar-painted glulam which are bound together through a method called "Japanese wood joinery" - where each piece of wood is cut in such a way that they fit together as tightly as if they’d grown that way in the first place. The floor is a concrete slab on the ground. The facade is glazed - to provide transparency in the building and highlight the spectacular nature that embraces it.

Reasserting the Past and Preserving the Future: A Cultural Center in Wadi RumMalkawi, Randa Fuad 07 July 2020 (has links)
Although only a few of us have been to the desert, we all have a clear and chromatic image of it. Our mental representation of these landscapes has been formed throughout the years through photographic media and film. A few well known visual and literary works that contributed to the myth of the desert include:
Le Petit Prince (1943), Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
The Seven Pillars of Wisdom (1926), T.E Lawrence
Lawrence of Arabia (1962), David Lean
Theeb (2014), Naji Abu Nowar
This fascination led to an increase in demand for travel to these mythological places. Such an increase raises particular challenges for the desert and its inhabitants that include a demand for services and infrastructure and an appetite to learn more about the site. The phenomenon creates new issues that require creative solutions and interventions.
How can architecture provide spaces as a solution to mitigate these issues? The thesis examines the question in the context of the Wadi Rum Protected Area (WRPA), a UNESCO world heritage site that is located in the Arabian Desert region. It proposes a cultural center that reflects the ecological and cultural significance of the site. The architecture of the building converges elements from the desert with elements from local bedouin culture. The building aims to create spaces for educational opportunities to the bedouin and the tourist in order to enhance the visitor's experiences and enrich the local's knowledge. / Master of Architecture / This thesis examines the issues that are associated with an increase in tourism in the Wadi Rum Protected Area (WRPA), a UNESCO World Heritage site that is located in the Arabian Desert Region. The thesis attempts to provide a solution through architecture and urban planning strategies that include the proposition of educational spaces for the tourist and the local. These architectural spaces have the ability to add value to the tourist's experience and enrich the local community in the future.

Green roof showcase : retrofitting the rooftop of the Chicago Cultural CenterMurphy, Joseph T. January 2001 (has links)
This project provides a historical perspective and a comprehensive review of the quantitative and qualitative benefits of green roof technologies and argues that most of these benefits could be represented in the City of Chicago in an educational and interactive site. As a demonstration site, the Chicago Cultural Center rooftop could be retrofitted as such a green roof project. In addition to the normal benefits of a green roof, this high profile site would provide increased awareness of the benefits of rooftop greening in hopes of encouraging future such projects in Chicago and elsewhere. The major barriers to the widespread use of green roof technologies are summarized; creative solutions making use of various green roof technologies are displayed on one prominent, showcase rooftop. / Department of Landscape Architecture
