Centro Cultural Cartola: um estudo sobre envelhecimento e migração com alunos de dança de salão / Cartola Cultural Center: a study about ageing and migration within ballroom dancing students

Márcia Fraga Sampaio 06 December 2013 (has links)
This present dissertation is organized towards two thematic pillars: ageing and migration. It was developed on the basis of a social theory theme which it sustains and on the basis of interviews within the ballroom dancing students at the Cartola Cultural Center, which is located at Mangueira Slum Complex, in Rio de Janeiro city. The main goal is to investigate how the mentioned group benefits from the sources offered by the cultural Institution towards the ballroom dancing activities in the process of building ageing. The first point was to observe and verify that there was besides the motivation and pleasure on dancing, a incentive towards health care and preservation. Parallel to this, during the users profile sheet elaboration, it was also possible to observe and verify that and expressive percentage of these group was migrants, and so this fact started integrating the whole data. The work is divided into four chapters. On the first one Cartola Cultural Center is presented, plus the context in which the research is going to be carried, the activities offered at the Center, as well its main characters: Cartola e D. Zica. On the second one, ageing is taking from the perspective of the work of the anthropologist Guita Grin Debert, the main theorical reference on the discussion of this thematic. Next, on the third chapter, it speaks about the subjects decisions on choosing the migration, towards their own point of view, considering their motivation and difficulties. PatrimÃnios geoeducativos contemporÃneos: bibliotecas ou centros culturais? Estudo sobre a resignificaÃÃo dos espaÃos de cultura em escolas de Fortaleza-Cearà / Wealth geoeducativos contemporary: libreries or cultural centers ? study on reframing of spaces culture in Fortaleza-Cearà Schools

Jessica GirÃo Lopes 11 February 2015 (has links)
FundaÃÃo Cearense de Apoio ao Desenvolvimento Cientifico e TecnolÃgico / The library valueâs is the reason of its existence. However, its educational potential is proportional to the use that the subjects do it; the more use, the greater the possibility of growth for the information. It see a direct correlation between awareness of the value of the place, ownership of the means promoted by the State that enable communication from equity and the use of space by the subjects in schools. Based on this, we seek to confront two different school realities, in order to go a reverse way to the delimited in studies about inequalities educational which is on commonly followed. We selected two schools to be places where we interacted with the subjects that are used or not librarian heritage concerned: E.E.F. Clovis Bevilacqua, located in the central area of Fortaleza, without serious non-existent vulnerability of the urban nei ghborhood access problems; and EEFM Senator Osires Bridges , located in Canindezinho neighborhood, considered highly vulnerable. We must also teaching a multimedia representation cultural center (the CCBNB)to assess the formative insight into the use of public equipment. Methodologically, the work follows phenomenological precepts, based on the idea that the answers to the use or not of this heritage of libraries should focus on the lived experience of the subjects who present there, and therefore know the exact strategies that provide improvements factual in students' relationship with knowledge. As a result, the study aims to present updated strategies appreciation of space libraries, with facilities in educational and cultural indicators of its use as a way to balance communication.

Reconsidering the Community Center - Restorative Strategies Within Existing Frameworks

Gilbert, John, III 29 August 2014 (has links)
The overarching goal of this investigation is to determine how an existing building of spatial and programmatic rigidity can serve as a framework for designing a more integrated center for personal and community development. This project is an exploration of what a building can evolve into after its "shelf-life" has expired, with the aid of a reconsidered architectural vision. Formulated within criteria individual to its context, it is intended to be an investigation of possibility and the testing of a nascent potential, not an attempt to serve as a prescriptive, panacea solution. It is an examination of a creative vision in the development of a more responsive and expressive community space. Through this exploration, the architectural experience as derived from a subject-object perspective will be investigated and considered, as well as the art of placemaking in crafting a design strategy that is responsive to its immediate context, reconsidering the ability of architecture to generate meaning and experience outside of its prototypically considered building-envelope boundaries. By focusing on the potential to for personal and community-based growth and development, three avenues of program will be explored: Education, Experience, and Expression. Serving as an intersection point between cultural production and cultural consumption, the transmission of this cultural capital has the ability to gestate a deeper sense of identity amongst the embedded community.

Bangladeshi Cultural Center: for the Bangladeshi Population Living in New York City

Afrin, Sabrina 09 July 2018 (has links)
The twentieth-century brought a rapidly increasing global mobility and is causing a de-territorial effect on the world. The borders of countries are becoming more fluid. The bounds of cultures that were based on nationality, have become blurred, contested, open-ended, and unstable. These frequently modified cultural boundaries have created multiple cultural diasporic groups. A diaspora is a large group of people with a similar heritage or homeland who have since moved out to places all over the world. Globalism, with its elusive cultural identity, leads to a seemingly unified world culture and the once static sense of nation-state-based cultural identity is now mobile. This mobility and replacement of our locations destabilize our traditional sense of identity that traditionally has been deeply rooted in a sense of nation-state. As a reaction and resistance to the global forces, “localism,” or “nativism,” have simultaneously increased. Thus, the cultural diaspora can be understood as a journey through multiple magnitudes of cultural boundaries. This thesis reviews cultural identity with an emphasis on cultures that are undergoing a diasporic condition. I specifically emphasize notions of the nationality of a selected diasporic group of Bangladeshi people living in New York City over the past few decades. The vehicle of the research is the study of their current cultural identification, considering the varied struggles of this group in their new host land. After assembling and acquiring a holistic understanding of the current condition (economic, social, and political) of this group, a set of appropriate programs will be proposed to be incorporated into the design for a cultural center. The primary goals of this project are to encourage the socio-cultural, economic, and educational enhancement of Bangladeshi people living in New York City. The project will also raise a sense of unity among the diasporic group and enable a better understanding of cultural interchange.

Centro Cultural del Arte Tradicional y Popular Amazónico / Cultural Center of Amazonian Traditional and Popular Art

López Lavalle Luque, Gabriela Estefanía 10 March 2020 (has links)
For a long time, Perú has had a non-sincere relationship with its cultural diversity. However, in recent years different actions are generating significant changes, which allow recognition of the different cultures that our territory is home to. Indigenous people, almost completely forgotten for years, are now an important part of this diversity. We can rescue their knowledge about the use and conservation of natural resources. The Cultural Center of Amazonian Traditional and Popular Art, seeks to recognize through architecture, the identity of this Amazonian culture and specifically of Shipibo Conibo culture, which is located mainly in the Ucayali region. The main axis of this project is the respect for its ancestral culture. The architecture tries to create a milestone in the city that responds to the place, its materials and its environment. Likewise, the climatological factor is one of the most important components for the development of this proyect. / Tesis
