Dynamika programu zážitkových kurzů: modelovaná vs. skutečná dramaturgie / Comparation of intended and real dynamic of program of experiences course

BLAŽKOVÁ, Martina January 2017 (has links)
This thesis is oriented to The Intensity of Experience and its role in The Dramaturgy of Experiential Courses. The main concepts: The Intensity of Experience and The Dynamics of Experience, are described in the theoretical part. At first, the author defines the concept of The Intensity of Experience, furthermore she describes diferences between The Intensity and Dynamics of Experience in order to implement both concepts into the context of Experiential Education. The second chapter is aimed at Experiential Courses, their background and history, principles of Experiential Education and Dramaturgy of Experiential Education Courses. The main part of the thesis is the third chapter, which is devoted to quantitative-qualitative research. This research is focused on The Intensity of Experience evaluated by the participants, which the author further compares with The Intensity of Experience intended by instructors. The research results indicate differences between The Intensity of Experience intended by the instructor and The Intensity of Experience that participants felt after courses.

The dramaturgy of the audit process : challenges in the social interaction between the auditor and client

Tuvesson, Clara, Lu, Kwok January 2019 (has links)
Audit is a bilateral task where the auditors are required to socially interact with their clients during the audit process. The auditor and client may encounter different expectations that could lead to challenges in their social interaction. Thus, the purpose of this study is to explore the challenges in the social interaction between the auditor and client during the audit process. Prior literature has applied versions of agency that are implicitly based on classic contract law and virtually ignored clients as a research object. The original value of this study lies in the adoption of the dramaturgical analysis into the context of audit. This study employs a qualitative research method. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with seven real auditor-client dyads in Scania, Sweden. The findings suggest that clients are fixated on the price tag of an audit and do not consider the person delivering the audit service. This puts the auditor and client at risk as the findings suggest that the social interaction is important whereby a similarity attraction in sociodemographic space facilities the social interaction. Asset evaluations can create challenges in the social interaction which are solved with residual control stemming from ownership as well as social status. The seven auditor-client dyads in this study deals with their own unique challenges that resulted in seven prototypes. This study fills in a gap in the literature by interviewing and analyzing the auditors’ respective client expectations on one another. To fulfil each other’s diverse expectations, both must embody different roles.

A Dramaturgical Analysis of Bureaucratic Organizations: A Case Study of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China

Chen, Chieh Chen Unknown Date (has links)
This research is based on Erving Goffman’s (1959) dramaturgical analytical approach to explore the promotion emulation of diplomats of the Republic of China and their image management strategies to the public as well as to the colleagues. With promotion being the main theme of the play and diplomats as performers, this research reasons by analogy with Goffman’s dramaturgical analysis to discuss how diplomats present themselves in the public sphere where citizens are watching and how they manage their image within their organization among colleagues. After differentiating key elements of the play, the discussion moves onto the interactive manner within diplomatic bureaucratic organization shaped by promotion path, image management and tacit knowledge of interaction among colleagues with a particular focus to identify the promotion competition.

Andersson, Alva, Johansson, Olivia January 2020 (has links)
During the last decade there has been a major change in the labour market where the work has become more limitless and the number of entrepreneurs has increased. This study analyses how self-employed female accountant experience their personal identity and professional identity. Central questions are the individual experience of the personal- and professional identity, the connection between them and which importance self-employment has for the perceived personal identity. Previous research indicates that there are several separate studies about self-employed, accountant and identity but not in a combination with each other, which lays the foundation for the study's relevance. The theoretical starting points are Erving Goffman's stigma theory and the dramaturgical perspective as well as concepts about the boundless work and identity. The study is based on a qualitative research method in which five semi-structured interviews have been conducted. The results indicate that there is a connection between the personal identity and the professional identity. Besides, it emerged that the role of self-employed has importance for the perceived personal identity.

Gomez, Angela, Troncoso, Nathalie January 2023 (has links)

Guertin-Tardif, Etienne 08 1900 (has links)
In this research I explore the pastoral activities offered at a women’s detention center in the province of Quebec. Based on participant observations conducted in the Catholic chapel of the establishment, I examine the interactions that are part of religious activities : gestures, words, and behaviors that take place before, during, and after the performances. Drawing on Erving Goffman’s dramaturgical approach I first reconstruct the various situations that compose the prison’s pastoral activities in order to describe what the actors say and do during these activities. By reconstructing religious activities, I discover the presence of “incidents”. What I call “incident” are words or gestures that keep manifesting themselves and slowing down the pace of the religious activities. Secondly, I try to understand and explain the recurrence of these « incidents ». This allowing me to reflect on 1) the “total” character of the institution in which they emerge, 2) the culture of participants by which they are incurred, and 3) the structure of religious activities in which they take shape. Through the portraying of situations, the analysis of interactions, and the description of their specificity, this research provides a better understanding of the religious activities as they are performed in prison without neglecting to look at its contents and manifestation in situ.

En studie om HVB-personalens emotioner och roller / A study of HVB staff’s emotions and roles

Hussein, Maryan January 2017 (has links)
In recent years there have been many unaccompanied children that have fled to Sweden because of the war that’s going on in their home country, for instance. The unaccompanied children are placed in HVB homes, where they are offered support and care. The aim of this study is from an emotional perspective. The study examines how the HVB staff is experiencing their work by exploring how the staff handles and gets affected by emotions in their everyday work and also examines the emotional rules at their workplace. This will be done based on qualitative approach, through semi-structured interviews with 4 integration supervisor and one housing supporter. The focus will be on HVB staffs descriptions. The material from the interviews has been compiled with empirical data that I will interpret, based on the selected theories of the material to answer the study questions. The theories that I have used mainly in the study are Goffman’s theory of the dramaturgical perspective and front- and back region. I have also used Arlie Hochschild´s theory of emotional workand the object and subject position discussed by Markus Arvidson and Sara Johansson. The result shows that the HVB staff occupies a professional role, handling and getting influenced by emotions in their work. This may be due to the emotional rules that exist at work and also because of the professional role they play.
