Stravovací návyky a pohybový režim současných českých dětí a adolescentů ve věku 11 - 13 let / Diet and exercise regime of Czech children and adolescents aged 11 - 13

Maratová, Klára January 2015 (has links)
1 ABSTRACT The prevalence of overweight and obesity is constantly growing all over the world. Not only adults, but also children and adolescents are affected by this increase. The development of overweight or obesity in childhood represents a rather significant health risk that extends to adulthood. Both being overweight and being obese causes various secondary diseases, e.g. type II. diabetes or cardiovascular diseases. That is why the attempts to stop the increase of prevalence of overweight and obesity emerged in recent years. The attempts to stop these tendencies are aimed especially at children and adolescents, who carry the habits developed in childhood even to their adult life. In order for these attempts to be successful, one needs to have at their disposal information about the contemporary status and factors, which influence the development of overweight and obesity. The primary prevention ought to be concentrating on these factors. The survey, which was created in the questionnaire form, was conducted in primary schools and on the lower grade of grammar schools in Prague and its surroundings. 1897 questionnaires were distributed throughout the whole year; 366 were given back and out of these 225 questionnaires belong to girls and 141 to boys. This thesis focuses on the issues of the diatery,...

Schnellläuferstrategien in Lagern und Dynamische Zonierung

Glass, Michael 19 December 2008 (has links)
Turnover-based storage strategies are strategies in warehousing which increase the system throughput by choosing favorable storage locations. Existing strategies have been described and implemented inconsistently when compared to each other. Statements on strategy gains are difficult. Therefore a categorization of turnover-based strategies is devised. The existing strategies serve as basis of comparison for the new strategy "Dynamic Zoning". "Dynamic Zoning" proves to be the simplest turnover-based strategy while giving the highest performance at the same time. This is accomplished by combining two methods. These methods are reasonable when used separately, but only reach their full potential when used together. First, mapping the dwell time (duration of stay) probability distribution to the travel time probability distribution lets zones become obsolete. Efforts to plan and calculate zones can be avoided and the inevitable imprecision when mapping to zones vanishes. Any deviation from the optimal storage location now results from errors in estimation. Second, dwell times must be based on unit loads which is the correct application of the cube-per-order-criterion for optimality. Without the need to use zones this does not result in extra effort to apply the strategy. For a part of the assortment the estimation of unit load dwell times is simpler than before too, making unit load dwell times even more appealing. However, even when using conventional article based dwell time estimates the strategy "Dynamic Zoning" results in higher performance than other strategies.

Vysokoškolské vzdělávání cizinců v České republice / University education of foreigners in the Czech Republic

Panfilova, Kaselina January 2020 (has links)
1 University education of foreigners in the Czech Republic Abstract The thesis examines evolution, trends and structures of foreigners in tertiary education sector in the Czech Republic and at the same time aims at finding common aspects or differences between students with Czech citizenship and without it. In the theoretical part of examining university education for foreigners the concept of third demographic transition has been applied. The Associated Student Register Information (SIMS) has been used as the main data source. In this thesis, the analysis is based on individual anonymized data of graduates in the period between 2001 and 2017. The analysis focuses on net duration of study with such independent variables as gender, age, study field, form of study, type of university and citizenship. The analytical part also examines the relationship between gender and its possible dependence on citizenship, study field and on the net duration of study. One of the conclusions of this work is that the number of Czech students has been progressively decreasing in the last few years, while the number of foreign students in the Czech Republic is growing. Still, the net duration of study is shorter for Czech graduates than for foreigners, with an exception of Slovak students with a shorter net duration of study...

Analyzing YouTube Content Demand Patternsand Cacheabilityin a Swedish Municipal Network

Wang, Hantao January 2013 (has links)
User Generated Content (UGC) has boosted a high popularity since the birth of a wide range of web services allowing the distribution of such user-produced media content, whose patterns vary from textual information, photo galleries to videos on site. The boom of Internet of Things and the newly released HTML5 accelerate the development of multimedia patterns as well as the technology of distributing it. YouTube, as one of the most popular video sharing site, enjoys the top most numbers of video views and video uploads per day in the world. With the rapid growing of multimedia patterns as well as huge bandwidth demand from subscribers, the sheer volume of the traffic is going to severely strain the network resources.

Therefore, analyzing media streaming traffic patterns and cacheability in live IP-access networks today leads a hot issue among network operators and content providers. One possible solution could be caching popular contents with a high replay rate in a proxy server on LAN border or in users' terminals.

Based on the solution, this thesis project focuses on developing a measurement framework to associate network cacheability with video category and video duration under a typical Swedish municipal network. Experiments of focused parameters are performed to investigate potential user behavior rules. From the analysis of the results, Music traffic gets a rather ideal network gain as well as a remarkable terminal gain, indicating that it is more efficient to be stored close to end user. Film&Animation traffic, however, is preferable to be cached in the network due to its high net gain. Besides, it is optimal to cache the video clips with a length between 3 and 5 minutes, especially the Music and Film&Animation traffic. In addition, more than half of the replays occur during 16.00-24.00 and peak hours appear on average from 18.00 to 22.00. Lastly, only around 16% of the videos are global popular and very few heavy users tend to be local popular video viewers, depicting local limits and independent user interests

The effect of peacekeeping operation on conflict intensity when taking into account foreign state sponsorship : A Discrete-Time Survival Analysis

Nygren, Emma January 2021 (has links)
The answer to if peacekeeping is successful or not is still debated. The focus has mostly been on internal characteristics of peacekeeping missions. While external factors, have been largely overlooked. This thesis aims to explore the effects external involvement in intrastate conflicts may have on the success of peacekeeping deployment. It poses the following research question: how does foreign state sponsorship to rebel groups affect the success of peacekeeping operations? The main argument made is that the causal mechanisms presented for why peacekeeping operations are effective, do not have an effect on the sponsors and their incentive to stop fighting. Hence, it is hypothesized that peacekeeping operations are less effective in decreasing the duration of intrastate armed conflict when rebel groups are sponsored by foreign states. The argument is tested using a discrete-time survival analysis and Cox proportional hazard models on all intrastate conflicts between 1970-2017, and foreign state sponsorship is treated as an interaction effect. The findings did not support the hypothesis but rather suggest that the presence of peacekeepers has a dominant positive conflict-intensity reducing effect. These results scratch the surface of what the effects external involvement may have on peacekeeping success and indicate that peacekeeping is successfully undermining sponsorship.

Retrospektive Analyse der Krankenakten der in den Jahren 1968 – 1999 in der Medizinischen Tierklinik der Universität Leipzig behandelten Rinder

Philipp, Anke 05 April 2011 (has links)

Time-out for sibling aggression: An analysis of effective durations for typically developing children in a natural setting

Corralejo, Samantha M. 01 January 2015 (has links)
Past research has investigated parameters of time-out such as duration, mostly with individuals with developmental disabilities. Existing research and popular parenting sources do not coincide in terms of the suggested duration of time-out. The current study sought to find the shortest effective duration(s) of time-out necessary to reduce sibling aggression in eight typically developing girls ages 3-7. The intervention took place in participants’ homes using a minute-by-minute incremental increase and reversal design. All participants reached a minimum reduction in sibling aggression of 60% after experiencing a 1-min time-out. The majority (75%) of participants also demonstrated clear reversals of behavior when returned to the baseline condition. The current findings suggest that a 1-min time-out may be sufficient for children as old as 7— contrary to the common 1-min per year of age rule. Limitations include the presence of a graduate assistant during sibling play and some loss of experimental control in the natural setting. Future research should seek to replicate the current methodology with the same population and populations of different ages and developmental levels.
