The theoretical part of this study introduces these the above mentioned materials and other legislative documents. It also brings a summary of historical development of media education and a list of the most important education materials, which were written in the past twenty years. For more than ten years Czech schools have been influenced by normative materials, which define how media education should be taught. The aim of this thesis is to focus on primary school children at the age of 9 to 11 years. A practical part of this study brings a detailed look at one class in a Prague based school. Interviews with pupils were based on outputs from normative materials Doporučené očekávané výstupy. The author's aim was to verify if children's knowledge of media corresponds to the said materials. Hali ya Kiswahili katika shule za sekondari Tanzania:: Udhalilishaji wa lugha ya taifa?

Msanjila, Yohana P. 30 November 2012 (has links)
The aim of this paper is to analyze data that was collected in 2003 and 2004 in order to ascertain the claim made by Kiswahili stakeholders that the status of Kiswahili in secondary schools in Tanzania has dropped. The finding reveal that the number of periods allocated to Kiswahili is fewer than English. Secondly, whenever there is a shortage of Kiswahili teachers, any member of the teaching staff or even non-specialists are called upon to fill the gap. Thirdly, we note that Kiswahili teachers have never had the opportunity to attend any Kiswahili seminar since they graduated from colleges. Fourthly, the Ministry of Education and Culture has issued a circular to schools barring the students from speaking Kiswahili at the school compound to enable them to become proficient in English language. Considering the above findings, this study confirms that the status of Kiswahili in secondary schools in Tanzania has diminished.

Academic Persistence Among Native American High School Students

Buckley, Tianna Jeanne 01 April 2018 (has links)
Qualitative interviews with 12 Native American high school junior and senior students who grew up on reservations identified the following themes related to their persistence in college: (a) faculty support, (b) structured social support, (c) family support or the lack thereof, (d) motivation to be better, and (e) encountering racism. The results indicated a need for clear academic expectations between the school district and the tribal liaisons, multicultural training to foster positive relationships from the primary to secondary level, and structured college preparatory instruction designed for Native American students. Results also indicated a need for further research into the educational experiences of multiethnic students.
