Povídková tvorba Kóno Taeko / Short Stories of Kōno Taeko

Baďurová, Jana January 2013 (has links)
(in English): The topic of this work is the characteristics of the short stories by Kono Taeko. At first I am presenting the methodology - psychoanalysis. Then, I'm describing her life for better understanding of the use of some typical features. Especially the war and the tuberculosis had influence on her work. Subsequently I present possible interpretation of her stories in term of Shintoism (effort to purify) and Buddhism (achievement of liberation). In interpersonal relations Kono Taeko deals mainly with man- woman relationships and her attitude can be considered feminist. In the most comprehensive chapter concerning masochism I am trying to prove with Freud's theory "The child is being beaten" that her work is masochistic. In the end I am generalizing my findings. This work contains Czech translations of examples of her work and contains 68 pages.

Auserwähltes Wissen

Künzel, Annegret 22 March 2010 (has links)
This doctoral thesis presents empirical results of an interdisciplinary study, which explores the configuration of ‘gender mainstreaming’ with feminist theory in German municipalities. The results are based on the analysis of municipal documents and qualitative interviews in ten German municipalities. Drawing on the example of the strategy of ‘gender mainstreaming’ this study emphasizes the theoretical configuration of gender policy with components and elements of feminist knowledge. It shows to what extend different generations or bundles of feminist theory are of particular relevance for political practice. The study presents empirical evidence that the configuration of ‘gender mainstreaming’ predominantly refers to a small range of feminist theories, while specific feminist theories like very recent theoretical trends are expelled. As a consequence feminist knowledge is not only extremely fractured, but also creates rupture zones when being transferred into political practice. Concluding the study raises the question for the actual effects of this exclusive usage of feminist theory within political practice and political movements.

Existentialism and feminism in Kezilahabi`s novel Kichwamaji

Sakkos, Tiina 16 August 2012 (has links) (PDF)
In this essay, I would like to analyse the novel Kichwamaji (‘Empty-head’; 1974) by the well-known Tanzanian writer Euphrase Kezilahabi against the background of two philosophical theories: existentialism and feminism. I will first discuss existentialism and the existentialist elements in the novel. Then I will present feminist theory and focus on the female characters in Kichwamaji. I will argue that a feminist reading of the novel is impossible due to its predominant existentialist character.

Gender v každodenní práci - samospráva a veřejná správa / Gender in everyday work - self-government and public administration

JAROLÍMKOVÁ, Jana January 2015 (has links)
Because of I am a woman the gender issues are very close to me. Different perceptions of men and women we can see all arend us. Attributing stereotypical roles may have influence for the society as a whole. Currently have these issues the more and more attention. I believe that this is a favorable time for a change. From the available sources it is clear that sex discrimination does exist. Women do not have the same conditions as men. The role of mother has not enough for them. They want to achieve their own successes. And the more successes they want to achieve, the more they are forced to overcome barriers. In the theoretical part, after studying literature and other sources, I'm trying to describe briefly the main ideas of feminism and its influence on the pursuit of equality between men and women. Attention was focused primarily on gender, describing the basic concepts, as shown in the society and what principles are used in practice in these issues. After then I examine the labor market and the discrimination that exists here. From the available literature, I found out what the position of women and men in the labor market and what types of discrimination women face. I described the legislative measures in the Czech Republic and European Union. The closing part of theoretical part I focused for the women in politics and leadership positions and barriers, which restrict them access to these realms. The practical part of my work is divided into two chapters. In the first chapter, I analyzed the situation on the labor market of Czech Republic in terms of women's representation in politics. Representation of women is very low. I expressed my opinion on the issue of equal representation of men and women in politics and quotas that could solve this situation. The second chapter is devoted of the research, in which I learned how the public perceived gender issues, whether they met with the discrimination on the labor market themselves and whether they agree with these positive measures like the correct solution for this problem. For gaining these datas, I chose the method of questionnaire survey, thanks to which I managed to get valid answers from 195 respondents. In the final part, I evaluated the results of the questionnaire and to suggested the recommendations how to resolve the current situation.

Holčičí povídání / Girl's talk

Pecháčková, Marika January 2017 (has links)
Via interviews with five female students and one female teacher at the Documentary Film Deapartment at FAMU, this thesis seeks to define if not an exact, specific form, then a marked out area of today's female identity. In the dialogue with these women, the question how do they use their femininity in their work is asked. Which areas are opened thanks to their gender and in which way is their contemporary thinking about womanhood different (and shifted) in comparison to the previous generations of the feminist discourse? To what extent do the old models of perception of women persist and even parasitize within them, and how do they find their liberating escapes? The thesis represents an instrumental specimen taken from a limited time and space i.e. the Documentary Film Department at FAMU during the last decade (2007-2017). This work is also part for the general search of role of women here and now.

Sociální role ženy v 21. století z pohledu mužů / The social role of woman in the 21st century from the perspective of men

PROKŮPKOVÁ, Jana January 2013 (has links)
This thesis deals in it?s theoretical part with the changing of social role of women in the course of human existence and history of the feminist movement. It observes the differences between men and women from three perspectives: biological, psychological, sociological, and on their basis reveals their properties for which individuals choose the preference of life partner. Thesis also focuses on the labor market situation in terms of gender. In the practical part, based on interviews with 10 men and 10 women, I evaluate the views at how men see the role of women in society and also as well how women themselves see their role. At first I found out how the household in which the respondents grew up in work in the division of daily tasks, how they want their own households to work (or as they works) and then I compared the results. Then I focused on qualities and skills which are in interviews attributed to women and men, what´s the position of women in the labor market in their opinion or why the number of divorces is constantly increasing and why the age for starting a family is increasing as well. The work affects not only the view of men of women's social mission, but also the view of women themselves in the light of expectations that men (and society) have towards to women.

Feministická sci-fi literatura: Mechanické století Cherie Priest / Feminist Science Fiction: Cherie Priest's The Clockwork Century

Nováková, Petra January 2018 (has links)
Feminist Science Fiction: Cherie Priest's The Clockwork Century Diploma Thesis Petra Nováková Abstract Marleen S. Barr, one of the pioneers of feminist science fiction criticism, is an outspoken commentator on gender inequality in this genre. In Feminist Fabulation: Space/Postmodern Fiction and Future Females: A Critical Anthology, Barr defines feminist science fiction as metafiction about patriarchal fiction. She speaks out against both authors and critics who recycle narratives restricted by a patriarchal view of the world in which women are silenced and/or relegated to the position of an accessory of the male hero, made to behave in a stereotypically feminine manner. While Barr does not include steampunk fiction but focuses on science fiction oriented towards the future and space exploration, her analysis of the female character's plight is nonetheless applicable to the steampunk genre. In this respect, feminist steampunk fiction can be read as a meditation on established gender norms. Cherie Priest's work is a prime example of such an innovative re-examination of gender stereotypes that Barr calls for in her critical work. As both a woman and a writer of science fiction, the author has adopted a feminist approach in her steampunk series The Clockwork Century. Among other things, Priest examines the role...
