Due to digitalization, computer systems have become integral to every aspect of oursociety. Not all the software and systems behind the wave of digitalization are securelydeveloped, tested, or properly configured and are, therefore, vulnerable to attacks. Thebest way to protect ourselves is through increased awareness about these threats, wherelaboratory exercises are an excellent way to teach about the practical aspects of thesethings. To better understand what makes an excellent cyber security exercise, this thesisaims to develop a CTF-based laboratory exercise for the course Ethical Hacking atKarlstad University and analyze requirements and how different factors influence thedevelopment and user experience. To do this, we set up an environment for hosting,designed and implemented the exercises, and created questionnaires to gather partici-pant data. As a result, we have created a list of 3 requirements and 4 critical factorstogether with an analysis of how they influence the development and user experience ofthe exercise. The most important results were that a correlation between difficulty andhow much the participants liked the lab was found, questionnaire options should not betoo broad since that makes the analysis of them less accurate, and distributing flags inweb environments is more complex than we first assessed.

Este trabalho apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa que se debruçou sobre um viés ainda pouco estudado da expressão de Nelson Rodrigues: seus textos folhetinescos. Buscouse localizar, identificar e caracterizar, nos folhetins escritos para os jornais nas décadas de 1940 e 1950, a estrutura teatral de Nelson Rodrigues em germe. Adentrando o terreno da experiência cotidiana e da circunstância nacional, procuramos discutir a conexão desse tipo de literatura com o momento histórico e o papel reproduzido por elas nas formas de pensar as relações sociais do momento de sua divulgação. A partir das dimensões cotidianas captadas no Brasil de 1940, refletiu-se especialmente sobre as representações sociais reproduzidas nos enredos criados por Nelson Rodrigues na pele de Suzana Flag e Myrna, discutindo com mais ênfase o retrato da mulher e do casamento, dentro de uma sociedade conservadora. Buscouse, ainda, fixar as constantes temáticas dos textos do dramaturgo e seus posteriores desdobramentos. Paralelamente, ensejou-se vislumbrar as necessidades do homem moderno de absorver mundos imaginários por elas erigidos e discutir o fenômeno de leitura que tais obras representaram. Para tanto, abrangeu-se desde suas experiências como repórter policial no jornal do pai, Mario Rodrigues, até suas experiências femininas como folhetinista em jornais da época (O Jornal, Crítica, O cruzeiro) e posteriores práticas como dramaturgo e cronista. Foram analisados os folhetins Meu destino é pecar (1944); Escravas do amor (1944); Minha vida (1946); Núpcias de Fogo (1948) e O homem proibido ( 1951), escritos sob o pseudônimo de Suzana Flag; A mulher que amou demais (1949), de Myrna, relacionando-os com alguns contos da coluna diária A vida como ela é... (1951-1961) e algumas de suas peças teatrais. Por fim, buscou-se verificar o que os folhetins A mentira (1953) e Asfalto Selvagem (1959-60) revelam da atmosfera obsedante das composições rodriguianas. / This work shows the results of a search whose focuses was a point of view of a little bit explored Nelson Rodriguess expression: his feuilletons texts. First of all, we tended to localize, to identify and to characterize in the feuilletons written for the newspapers during the 40s and the 50s the Authors dramatic structure. Into the quotidian experience subject and the national scenery, we tried to discuss the connexion between this kind of literature and the historical situation, and their reproductions on the social thoughts and relationships in the moment of publication. From the quotidian dimension founded in Brazil of the 40s we have thought especially about the social representations brought in the intrigues created by Rodrigues using his female pseudonyms Suzana Flag and Myrna, discussing with more emphasis the womanhood and the states of the marriage into a conservatory society. May further purpose to fix the constantly dramatists set of themes and his posterior evolution. Drawing a parallel, tented to show the modern man needs in assimilate imaginary worlds created by this impetus and to discuss the phenomenon of literature which this works meant. Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) / Patriotic education began when the Woman’s Relief Corps was established. The earliest patriotic education was done on Memorial Day rather than on a daily basis in the schoolroom. The WRC’s plan for patriotic education went into full gear in 1893. The history of the Woman’s Relief Corps and the implementation of patriotic education is a fascinating one that shows how a conservative organization of women implemented a regimented daily routine that today shows more about the women and their beliefs than one might expect. As time passed after the Civil War, more and more Union veterans died leaving the legacy to keep the memory of the War alive to the WRC. Patriotic education provided a perfect avenue to keep that memory alive as well as to inculcate the students with patriotism and how to be good citizens. As patriotic education evolved and grew, there was a pattern of changing rhetoric among educators and the WRC. This is visible when one looks at the discussions amongst the members of the WRC during and immediately after a war. Generally, during a war, the women of the WRC would step back into a supportive role of American military and then immediately after a war would take advantage of the patriotic fervor to further expand patriotic education.

Matroids capture an abstraction of independence in mathematics, and in doing so, connect discrete mathematical structures that arise in a variety of contexts. A matroid can be defined in several cryptomorphic ways depending on which perspective of a matroid is most applicable to the given context. Among the many important concepts in matroid theory, the concept of matroid duality provides a powerful tool when addressing difficult problems. The usefulness of matroid duality stems from the fact that the dual of a matroid is itself a matroid. In this thesis, we explore a matroid-like object called a flag matroid. In particular, we suggest a notion of duality for flag matroids and we investigate the implications of this notion.

A flag of a finite dimensional vector space V is a nested sequence of subspaces of V . The symplectic group of V acts on the set of flags of V . We classify the orbits of this action by defining the incidence matrix of a flag of V and show- ing that two flags are in the same orbit precisely when they have the same incidence matrix. We give a formula for the number of orbits of a certain type and discuss how to list the incidence matrices of all orbits. In the case in which V is a vector space over a finite field, we discuss the permutation representations of the symplectic group of V corresponding to these orbits. For the case in which V = (F_q)^4 , we compute the conjugacy classes of the sym- plectic group of V and the values of the characters of the previously discussed permutation representations. / Mathematics

Till recently, no significant attempts have been made of developing Aircraft Based Augmentation System (ABAS) architectures capable of generating integrity signals suitable for safety-critical GNSS applications and no commercial ABAS products are available at present. The aim of this research is to support the design a system that generates integrity signals suitable for GNSS application. The conceptual design and key mathematical models were recently developed by the Italian Air Force Experimental Flight Test Centre (CSV-RSV) [1, 2]. Such a system, would be able to provide steering information to the pilot, allowing for real-time and continuous integrity monitoring, avoidance of safety/mission-critical flight conditions and fast recovery of the required navigation performance in case of GNSS data losses. The key elements addressed in this thesis are the development of a CATIA model for military and civil aircraft, supporting antenna obscuration and multipath analysis. This is to allow the ABAS system to generate suitable integrity flags when satellites signals are lost. In order to analyse the GNSS signal loss causes, the GNSS constellation models, the flight dynamics models, fading models, multipath models, Doppler shift models, and GNSS receiver tracking technology previously developed by CSV-RSV, are considered in this research.

Abstract It was on Nov 19th 2005 that the Japanese Fishery Delegation announced in the annual conference of International Commission For The Conservation of Atlantic Tuna (ICCAT) that Taiwanese Atlantic Tuna Fishing Vessel Fleet laundered the fish at the high sea, violating the regulations on the Conservation of Tuna. As a result, they completely amputated the quota of tuna fish sales to Japan (quota) and cancelled the status of member nation in ICCAT. Finally, Taiwanese Fishery Delegation remained the member nation status unchanged after our efforts to explain the tough situation facing Taiwanese Tuna Fishing industry to Japan, but the quota was greatly downsized to 4,600 Metric Tons. Such severe action of revenge not only resulted in the complete collapse of Taiwan¡¦s Tuna Fishing activities in the Atlantic Ocean but also exposed Taiwanese Far Sea Fishing management to the International Fishery nations¡¦ practical competition crisis. The development of Taiwan¡¦s Far Sea Tuna Fishing Industry has extended across Tri-ocean. Taiwan has the most Tuna Long Liners, and our catches have exceeded those from some other countries, ranking No.1 in the world. Therefore, it has undeniably had a great influence on the development of some other nations¡¦ fishing industry. Moreover, Taiwanese fishing business owners have taken every opportunistic ways to sell the fish out of the quota to Japan. We were able to survive by good luck in the transitional period of fishing development before the year of 2000. But Tri-ocean Tuna Conservation Commissions have greatly increased the awareness of concept of Tuna Conservation in recent days, so it was unavoidable that they will impose as certain of regulations on the catch. If both Taiwan¡¦s government and fishing business owner don¡¦t find a solution to this sticky problem, it is just a matter of time that Taiwanese Long Liners will be evicted from Tri-Ocean. This research was started in the development process of Taiwan¡¦s Far Sea Tuna Industry, introducing the Tuna Conservation organizations of Tri-Ocean, (ICCAT, WCPFC, IATTC, IOTC, CCSBT), and the profiles on nutrition facts of Tuna Fish, fishing method and Fishing cooperation. This research also further groped and analyzed how both Taiwanese Fishing Authority and Fishing business owners reacted to the sanction pressure facing Taiwan in Tri-Ocean regions. This research will be used as the reference for both Taiwan¡¦s far sea Tuna Business owners and its decision-makers in face of meeting the severe pressure created by international quota. Abstrakt   I den här uppsatsen i statsvetenskap studeras Rysslands president Vladimir Putins agerande under Krim-krisen. Den har som syfte att söka en rationell förklaring för dennes agerande med åtanke av att ytterst få västerländska bedömare förmådde förutse en rysk intervention på Krim. Samt att på ett bredare plan analysera svårigheterna med att förutse militära interventioner.  För att ge en sådan förklaring används en rally-round-the-flag modell som kompletterande perspektiv. Materialet till studien har funnits i huvudsak i massmediala källor där nyhetsartiklar som analyserar händelseförloppet och motiven bakom det har studerats. Detta har delvis gjorts genom en argumentationsanalys men även en mer teoretisk studie av rally-round-the-flag perspektivet har gjorts.   Utredningen visar bland annat att västerländska medier gör flera felbedömningar då de antar att Putin inte kommer att intervenera i Krim. Detta då de missbedömer den strategiska utgångspunkten samt att de inte ser Putin som en agent med egenintressen. Resultatet visar även att agerandet kan ses som rationellt förutsatt att hans egenintresse särskiljs från den ryska statens intressen. Detta då det är rimligt att tro att agerandet var av sådan art att det kunde stärka hans ställning på hemmaplan och därmed minimera risken att hans egen regim ifrågasattes. Slutligen visar studien på hur rally-round-the-flag effekten kan förklara varför vissa regimer medvetet uppsöker konflikter även om dessa inte nödvändigtvis är i nationens intresse.
