The people's (green) house is located in a disused industrial area in Torshälla, north of Eskilstuna. Because the place wascontaminated with heavy metals, the soil needed to be cleaned. My suggestion is to create a mix betweena "people's house" and a place for education while the purification process takes place. The reasonthat the building has been placed in the industrial area is to create a common ground, because the location before was completely closed and divided society. The aim is to reduce segregation and create a welcomingplace, for everyone.Through phytoremidation, the soil is cleaned with the help of plants. When the plants have taken up the metalsthey are harvested and incinerated so that the metals can then be recycled. Examples of plants thathave the property of clean soil are sunflowers, chives, barley, sarepta mustard, aspen and lupine. As with everythingthis process has both advantages and disadvantages. Because phytomemidation requires a long time spanI want the area to be able to develop with the process.The idea is to educate both the public and students about this process. The main construction isof wood while the greenhouse consists of steel and glass. Upstairs there is also a patio tosocialize, have a cup of coffee or relax. The building has various rooms and open spaces for studies, exhibitions,activity etc. To increase biodiversity, parts of the roof also consist of greenroofs where beekeeping is also available. / Folkets växthus ligger i ett nedlagt industriområde i Torshälla, norr om Eskilstuna. Då platsenförorenats av tungmetaller behövdes marken renas. Mitt förslag är att skapa en blandning mellanett ”folkets hus” och en plats för utbildning medan reningsprocessen sker. Anledningen tillatt byggnaden placerats i industriområdet är för att skapa en samlingsplats då platsen innan varithelt sluten och delat upp samhället. Syftet är att minska segregationen och skapa en välkomnandeplats, till för alla.Genom fytomremidering renas marken med hjälp av växter. När växterna tagit upp metallernaskördas de och förbränns för att metallerna sedan ska kunna återvinnas. Exempel på växter somhar egenskapet att rena mark är solros, gräslök, korn, sareptasenap, asp och lupin. Som med allthar denna process både fördelar och nackdelar. Eftersom fytomremidering kräver ett långt tidsspannvill jag att området ska kunna utvecklas med processen.Tanken är utbilda både allmänheten och studenter om denna process. Huvudkonstruktionen ärav trä medan växthuset består av stål och glas. På övervåningen finns även en uteplats till för attumgås, fika eller socialisera. I byggnaden finns diverse rum samt öppna ytor för studier, utställning,aktivitet mm. För att öka den biologiska mångfalden består även delar av taket av grönttak där biodling även finns.

Just over six kilometers from Eskilstuna Centrum is a farm called Åsby Säteri. The fields are owned and leased out by a foundation, which means that Eskilstuna municipality has not been able to expropriate the land. The result has been a rural environment that lies like a wedge among Eskilstuna's suburbs. When a small forest in this area is attacked by spruce bark beetles, a group of 90s nostalgic and party-thirsty people from the district Hagnesta Hill see their chance. When the trees die, they either fall by themselves or are cut down and then left to rot. In this way, a sort of grove is created which, thanks to its proximity to the city, becomes the perfect refuge for the activities that gentrification and the increased premises rents have forced away. Throughout the process, I have mainly used urban concepts, such as "street", "backyard" and "square", as an aid in creating something in a place that has just died. The result has been that the project mimics something that it is not, namely a small piece of town. Due to this the rave house's facade has been, somewhat surprisingly, given a postmodern expression. Fortunately, this style fits quite well with 90s nostalgia. / Drygt sex kilometers cykelväg från Eskilstuna Centrum ligger en gård med tillhörande åkermark som heter Åsby Säteri. Marken ägs och arrenderas ut av en stiftelse vilket gjort att Eskilstuna kommun inte ́kunnat expropriera marken. Resultatet har blivit en rural miljö som ligger som en kil bland Eskilstunas för- orter.  När en liten skog i det här området angrips av granbarkborrar ser en grupp 90-talsnostalgiska och festtörstande människor från stadsdelen HagnestaHill sin chans. När träden dör faller de antingen av sig själva eller huggs ner för att sedan lämnas att förmultna. På så vis uppstår här en skogsglänta som tack vare sin närhet till staden blir den perfekta tillflykten för de aktiviteter som gentrifieringen och de ökade lokalhyrorna tvingat därifrån.  Genom hela processen har jag framför allt utgått från urbana begrepp så som ”gata”, ”bakgård” och ”torg”, som ett hjälpmedel i att skapa något på en plats som precis dött. Resultatet har blivit att projektet härmar något det egentligen inte är, nämligen en liten bit stad. Lite förvånande har följden blivit att framför allt rejvhusets fasad fått ett postmodernt uttryck, en stil som passar rätt bra ihop med 90-talsnostalgi.

The Yarn Factory is a factory that produces yarn made from algae. The project is located 20 kilometers southwest of Eskilstuna, near a small community called Lista. In a previous project the site was altered so that an old lake was restored to its former state and it is by the banks of this lake the project is located. The Yarn Factory utilises this lake to grow the algae for the yarn production. At the same time, the community does not have a place to gather today. The Yarn Factory will serve as a place for them but also outsiders to meet, learn and be inspired by innovations in the fabric industry, but also to come in contact with nature.  The project is built in wood with big glass elements to maximise the possibilities to look into the factory. Throughout the building there is a constant pull towards the water, which is a key feature in the project. It is divided into three different parts; the Peoples’ Centre, the factory and the staff part. They all come together in the middle where the factory divides itself which lets the visitor to be completely surrounded by the yarn making process. / Garnfabriken är en fabrik som tillverkar garn av alger. Projektet ligger ca 2 mil sydväst om Eskilstuna, nära ett litet samhälle som heter Lista. I ett tidigare projekt ändrades platsen och en gammal sjö återställdes till sitt tidigare skick. Det är vid denna sjö som projektet ligger då Garnfabriken använder sjön för att odla algerna till garnproduktionen. Samtidigt har bygden ingen plats att samlas på idag. Garnfabriken ska fungera som en plats för samhället och utomstående att träffas, lära sig samt inspireras av innovationer inom tygindustrin men också för att komma i kontakt med naturen. Projektet är byggt i trä med stora glaselement för att maximera möjligheterna att titta in i fabriken. Genom hela byggnaden finns en konstant riktning mot vattnet, vilket är en nyckelfunktion i projektet. Den är uppdelad i tre olika delar; Folkets Hus, fabriken och personalytor. De möts alla i mitten där fabriken delar sig vilket låter besökaren vara helt omgiven av garntillverkningsprocessen.

Lake Mälaren exhibition hall in Kvicksund. The short strait in Lake Mälaren is an important part of Lake Mälaren's history. The strait divides the town of Kvicksund into two parts, where one side is in the city of Västerås and the other in the municipality of Eskilstuna. The strait has long been a place where the two sides of Lake Mälaren are connected. The exhibition is about Lake Mälaren with a focus on the marine ecosystems but also about the environments around the shoreline. Where the exhibition both informs and teaches visitors in an interactive and educational way. The exhibition will make  the beautiful environments below the water surface accessible for the tourists, which is usually difficult to access for most people. Lake Mälaren exhibition hall is not only a tourist attraction but it was important that the local community was taken into account where the house should also be able to accommodate what is missing and in demand on the site. / Mälarens naturum i Kvicksund. Det korta sundet i Mälaren är en viktig del av Mälarens historia. Sundet delar tätorten Kvicksund i två delar där den ena sidan ligger i Västerås stad och den andra i Eskilstunas kommun. Sundet har länge varit ett ställe där de två sidorna av Mälaren kopplas samman. Kulturhuset och naturumet ligger strategiskt placerad på en halvö där vattnet är något som omringar byggnaden och ständigt finns i bakgrunden när man rör sig runt i byggnaden. I kulturhuset och naturumet finns utställningslokaler, konferens/ mötesrum, café samt lokaler för administrativa personal m.m. Utställningen berättar om Mälaren med fokus på det marina ekosystemen men också strandmiljöer runt vattnet. Där utställningen både informerar och undervisar besökarna på ett interaktivt och lärosamt sätt. Utställningen kommer tillgängliggöra det vackra miljöerna under vattenytan vilket i regel är svårtillgängligt för de flesta. Mälarens naturum är inte bara en turistattraktion utan det var viktigt att lokalsamhället togs i beaktning där huset också ska kunna inrymma det som saknas och efterfrågas på platsen. Med målet att det ska skapa delaktighet och förankring i lokalbefolkningen. Där huset också fungerar som ett kulturhus med lokaler som invånarna och föreningarna i Kvicksund och närliggande orter ska kunna nyttja.

Strå - folkets hus in Alberga is a place for community, culture and wildlife. Its located in the verge between Albergas more densely populated area and the  sparsely populated fields of the rural landscape. In previous project we saw Alberga answer the increasing population by 2030 by develop what we come to name as "Cluster-village", to build new with inspiration and with similar typology as what already is. Every cluster have their own agricultural land for 100% self-sufficiency of vegan diet, increasing the areas resilience. Strå - folkets hus constitutes an important part by being the connecting link between the local community of Alberga and the areas small-scale farming, thus the placing and the program. The building have several parts to play, research centre to develop ecological and long-term small-scale farming in the northern climate, community centre for the locals, storage and sharing knowledge for the Cluster-villages, but perhaps most importantly accommodates pollinators. The roof of the building is made out of reed, a local and ecologically friendly material, which even creates shelter for one of earth most vital and delicate creature, the pollinators. As the area is surrounded by scenic landscape, rich in wildlife and community, Strå - folkets hus serves as the link between farming and culture.

Folkets Hus har blivit ett kännetecken för staden och urbana miljön, Naturum tar plats i det rurala men också vidare ut i den obebodda naturen. Att kombinera Naturumets placering och program med Folkets Hus möjligheter till möte mellan människor kan fylla ett behov som länge gapat tomt i Sveriges glesbygd men som vi i lokala initiativ kan läsa in en önskan av att fylla detta tomrum. Naturumen blir ett viktigt exempel på hur publika byggnader kan fungera och verka långt ifrån det urbana sammanhanget, och att de även där fyller både funktion och syfte. Den rurala miljön behöver ett offentligt rum att samlas i, ett rum som kombinerar platsens essens på ett sätt som exempelvis Naturumet gör utmärkt, med människors behov av att mötas runt kultur och samhällsfrågor som få verksamheter gjort med samma bravur som Folkets Hus. Detta projekt är en undersökning i hur Folkets hus roll och funktion i samhället kan kombineras med Naturumens placering och program i ett marint sammanhang. / “Folkets Hus” has become a characteristic part of the swedish city and urban environment. “Naturum” finds its place in the rural and further into the uninhabited nature. To combine the placement of Naturum with the possibilities for people to meet that Folkets Hus offers can fill an empty gap in the Swedish countryside. Naturum is an important example of how public buildings can find a role far from the urban context, and that they even there have both function and purpose. The rural environment needs a public room to gather in, a room that combines the essence of the place in a way that the Naturum does in an excellent manner, together with peoples need to gather around culture and political questions in a way that few others have done greater in Sweden than Folkets Hus. This project is an investigation into how Folkets Hus role in society can combine with the program and placement of the Naturum in a marine rural context.

En välmående och stressfri miljö för utbildning.  Mitt projekt tar avstamp från Vårdingeby Folkhögskola, i Järna utanför Södertälje, som gjorde ett starkt intryck på mig. Det är framförallt att det ger en möjlighet för unga människor som inte tex fått fullständiga betyg i gymnasiet att få en nystart och börja plugga vidare. De har en ekologist och hållbar strategi för vilken form de vill hålla utbildning inom. De har tex hantverksutbildningar inom konst och trä där de nyttjar skogen för att tillverka stolar och möbler. Detta i samklang med studier i grundämnena för att få behörighet till universitet. Kunskap och utbildning är ett sätt att skapa ett mer jämlikt samhälle, göra utbildning möjlig för även de som har haft en tuff tid i sin ungdom. Att vara på landsbygden och få natur och lugn runt omkring sig är också en väldigt god förutsättning för studier. Detta vill jag ta vidare till Farstanäs som ägs av Södertälje kommun idag och där det finns en Herrgård, men också flera ekonomibyggnader och ladugård. Så platsen för ett kunskapshus med fokus på lärande och utvecklande för social gemenskap är det jag tittat vidare på. Då min underrubrik är ”En välmående och stressfri miljö för utbildning” så är ett naturrum för vila viktigt och även lugna studieplatser. Likaså utställningsytor för studenterna och övriga att visa sina produktioner på. Hierarkiskt skulle jag säga att naturrummet står först, sedan lugna studieplatser och utställningsytor. Café och restaurang är ett trevligt inslag för besökande och studerande och gör Folketshus till ett utflyktsmål. / A well-being and stress-free environment for Education. My project is based on Vårdingeby Folkhögskola, outside Södertälje in Järna, which made a strong impression on me. It provides an opportunity for young people who, for example have not received full grades in high school. They will get a fresh start. Vårdingeby Folkhögskola have an ecologic and a sustainable strategy. They have, for example, craft training in art and wood where they use the forest to make chairs and furniture. This in line with studies in the mainsubjects to get competence for university. Knowledge and education is a way to create a more equal society, make education possible for even those who have had a tough time in their youth. Being in the countryside and getting nature and peace around you is also a very good condition for studies. I want to take this on to Farstanäs, which is owned by Södertälje municipality today and where there is a mandolin, but also several outbuildings and a barn. So the place for a knowledge house with a focus on learning and development for social community is what I have created.  As my subtitle is "A well -being and stress-free environment for education", a nature room for rest is important and also quiet study places.Also exhibition spaces for students and others to show their works. Hierarchically, I would say that the nature room stands first, then quiet study places and exhibition spaces. Café and restaurant is a nice area for visitors and students and makes Folketshus a destination.

Återbruket är en hybridbyggnad i Ösmo, Nynäshamn, med temat återbruk och återvinning. Byggnaden är placerad centralt i Ösmo invid pendeltågsstationen, som är en viktig knutpunkt i lokalsamhället. Utgångspunkten för projektet har varit FN:s globala mål 12: Hållbar konsumtion och produktion, med fokus på cirkulär ekonomi och avfallshantering. Programmet för byggnaden är utformat efter avfallshierarkin. Det handlar om att förebygga, minska, återbruka och återvinna i så stor utsträckning som möjligt. I byggnaden finns verkstäder för att laga och reparera, uthyrning av verktyg, second hand-försäljning samt en återvinningscentral. Det finns även rum för kursverksamhet, utbildning och co-working. / Återbruket is a hybrid building located in Ösmo, Nynäshamn, with a theme centered around reuse and recycling. The building is centrally situated in Ösmo next to the train station, serving as a hub in the local community. The project is based on the UN's Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, with a focus on circular economy and waste management. The building's program is designed according to the waste hierarchy, aiming to prevent, reduce, reuse, and recycle to the greatest extent possible. The building includes workshops for repair and restoration, rental services, second-hand sales, and a recycling center. Additionally, there are rooms available for courses, education and co-working.

Stora Vika är ett litet samhälle i Nynäshamns kommun som en gång var en aktiv plats med mataffär och bibliotek mm. Idag har flera av dessa funktioner lagts ner men det finns fortfarande ett stort medborgarengagemang på platsen. Detta är något som jag i projektet vill ta vara på och främja genom ett nytt centrum i samhället med co-working, café och andra gemenskapsfrämjande aktiviteter. Här ska det finnas möjlighet att vistas ung som gammal, morgon som kväll. Tanken är att detta ska bli en plats där många trivs och vill vara på men som också underlättar vardagslivet för invånarna med exempelvis en liten livsmedelsbutik. Förhoppningsvis kan denna nya byggnad locka fler människor att flytta till ett litet samhället som Stora Vika.  Huset för folket i Stora Vika är ett nytt tillskott till tätorten men med rötterna i platsens historia och folket. / Stora Vika is a small community in the municipality of Nynäshamn, which once was an active place with a grocery store and a library, among other things. Today, several of these functions have been shut down, but there is still a strong civic engagement in the area. This is something that I want to harness and promote in the project through a new center in the community with co-working spaces, a café, and other community-enhancing activities. This place should be accessible to both young and old, morning and evening. The idea is for it to become a place where many feel comfortable and want to stay at, but also to facilitate everyday life for the residents with, for example, a small grocery store. Hopefully, this new building can attract more people to move to a small community like Stora Vika. The House for the People in Stora Vika is a new addition to the urban area, but with roots in the history and people of the place.

Projektet utgår ifrån en social och strukturell inventering i Nynäshamns stad, där resurser och behov sammanlänkas för ett förbättrat samspel i stadskärnan. Med syfte att förbättra möjligheterna för utbildning i staden undersöks Folkets Hus Nynäshamn och ett intilliggande parkeringshus som en rumslig och organisatorisk resurs åt Campus Nynäshamn, som i sin tur agerar som en social resurs åt Folkets Hus som har ett minskande besöksantal. Kärnan i projektet utgår ifrån att se både befintliga rumsligheter och strukturer som förstahandsresurs, för att sedan komplettera dem för att öka funktionalitet och användbarhet. Förslaget är placerat ovanpå det befintliga parkeringshuset vid Banantorget och kopplas samman med Folkets Hus via en gångbro. Förslaget ger nya utbildningslokaler som dagtid kan användas av Campus Nynäshamn, och därmed ge besökare och mångfald till Folkets Hus, och kvällstid av Folkets Hus för föreningsverksamhet och som demokratiskt rum. Målet är ett nytt bildningscenter som både förbättrar den låga utbildningsnivån i kommunen och aktiverar de sovande resurserna kring Banantorget.
