Möte med främling ur ett livsvärldsperpektiv

Roth, Maria January 2012 (has links)
The working conditions of today are characterized by being shifting, where the ideal is flexibility. A consequence of this is that labor relations tend to be more temporary and superficial. Previous research show that temporary workers experience alienation and lack of power, which illustrates an inequality. Based on this background, this study aims to describe and understand the regular staff´s experience of meeting with temporary workers in the workplace. The method used is phenomenological with hermeneutic element. The data consists of open interviews with five regular staff members who have experience of working with temporary workers. The results show that the meeting with temporary workers is characterized by a feeling of being inadequate. As the routine is changing the participants are forced to take a different role. Often the solution is to subordinate the temporary worker into the team. The interpretation of the results is that the participants see the temporary workers as strangers, who represent a threat to the system.

Davidsson, Catrin, Heinerud, Ida January 2016 (has links)
The paper aims to examine the relationship between the media's portrayal of the refugee situation in Sweden to investigate whether this could be a contributing factor to a widespread threat society, characterized by fear. Primary theories used is Simmel’s Stranger, Said’s Orientalism, Nohrstedt’s Threat society, framing theory and the media logic in news. Four morning newspapers, with geographic coverage in Sweden, have been used for the quantitative methods to collect empirical data. During the past year, we have analyzed a total of four weeks evenly distributed over the year, starting in May 2015 and end in February 2016. A total of 424 articles are coded on the basis of 21 variables. The result shows that the refugee's descent rarely appears in the articles. The geographical space also reveals that exile nationality rarely occur if the refugee is in Sweden. Furthermore, the result indicates a framing of the refugee as a burden/threat, in more cases than as victim/necessitous. When the refugee is portrayed as a burden the temporal charge is many times urgent. Many article types allows the writer to express their own opinion, as with the rhetorical tools can affect the receiver. Articles says, both implicitly and explicitly, that the Government of Sweden and all municipalities in the country are responsible regarding to the refugee issue. The topics that are high on the news agenda is the reception of refugees and asylum accommodation. These results are in line with the theory of a threat society as the refugee becomes anonymous, described as a stranger and perceived as a burden on society.

Rim, Zerom January 2015 (has links)

Right? : A study of preschool pedagogues' thoughts and reflections about the work of festivals and traditions in a preschool context

Arian, Ann, Nilsson, Anna January 2017 (has links)
In this study, we explore six preschool pedagogues’ experiences regarding the celebrations of cultural and religious festivals and traditions, and how this is noted in their respective preschool settings. The purpose of this critical study is to make educators aware of how children’s ethnic and cultural diversity is reflected in the preschool’s attention or lack of attention to different festivals and traditions. The study is based on interviews conducted with six randomly selected preschool pedagogues from six different preschools from different parts of Sweden. Three of the preschool peda-gogues interviewed worked at “monocultural” preschools while the other three worked at what they considered as “multicultural” preschools. The results of the study are, that regardless of how the composition of the children’s group appeared, the preschool pedagogues’ reflections on their own situated experiences reveal the extent to which the festivals and traditions cele-brated are so-called Swedish and Christian. The festivals and traditions celebrated are e.g. Easter, Midsummer, Lucia and Christmas. Celebrations and traditions of a decent other than Swedish are not recognized in the same way. Theoretically, this study is based on Sara Ahmed’s ideas surrounding ‘the hegemony of white-ness’ and the ‘phenomenology of whiteness’. For us, this important critical and theoretical re-source opens for future questions about how well established the white hegemony is in our Swedish preschool.
