This master's thesis deals with simulation of vortex structure which is created in the draft tube of Francis turbine, at part load flow conditions. The main objective is to get the most accurate results from the calculations, using the student license of Ansys Fluent 19.1. The results from the calculations are compared with the experiment under the Francis-99 project. Mainlly in terms of dynamic properties of vortex rope – aplitude and frequency of pressure pulsations. Additionaly the time-averaged velocity profiles are compared. I used the test-case provided by NTNU – Norwegian University of Science and Technology under the Francis-99 workshop series.

This master’s thesis deals with CFD simulation of spiral vortex structure in the diffuser of swirl generator. The objective of the thesis is to evaluate influence of change in diffuser opening angle on frequency and amplitude of pressure pulsation. All results are compared in charts which shows courses of frequencies and amplitudes along the diffuser. Two different turbulence models and several types of mesh were tested

This master's thesis deals with CFD simulation of vortex rope in the elbow draft tube for overload operation of Francis turbine. The main objective of the thesis is to compare results of the CFD simulations of the original elbow draft tube with a derived straight cone draft tube considering volume and the shape of the cavitation region and dynamic flow characteristic. Results of the 3D simulations are also compared with axi-symmetric simulations, which reduce demands for computing time and power.

The aim of the thesis titled Comparison of the spirituality of St. Francis of Assisi and John Bosco, is to find commonalities follow Jesus Christ at St. and St. John Bosco. Francis of Assisi.The work seeks to answer the question whether the charisma of John Bosco in his time, analogous to the charism of St. Francis of Assisi. If so, what particular aspect of Jesus' life is inspired and specifically how it passed on to his followers. Using the Personnel method and comparison in terms of whether there are consistent references to Holy Scripture and tradition, and specifically how at the time these links St. John Bosco and St. Francis of Assisi lived and fulfilling. The diploma thesis Bon Repos and baroque monuments in surroundings of Lysá nad Labem deals with the area of Bon Repos and baroque monuments in surroundings of Lysá nad Labem that arose thanks to the benefactor Count Francis Anthony Spork. Unfortunately, most of the monuments no longer exist. The first part of this diploma thesis deals with the history of the town Lysá nad Labem and also with its monuments including the life of Count Spork. In the second part of the thesis we can find the detailed description of the ecclesiastical and the secular monuments in surroundings of Lysá nad Labem, which were built at the times during the Count Spork's life. The monuments' description was done according to the engravings and sources from the period of the first half of the 18th century. The third part of this thesis describes the area of Bon Repos which was built by Count Spork. In this part we can also find the history of the site and the description of its baroque form. Unfortunately, the site of Bon Repos was rebuilt by archbishop Prichovsky in the second half of the 18th century. It is for this reason that the description of the baroque site was done thanks to the engravings and sources from that period. Der Beitrag untersucht zwei Versionen des Hollywood-Actionfilms 'I Am Legend' (2007). In einem kritischen Vergleich werden unterschiedliche ideologische Standpunkte der beiden Fassungen herausgearbeitet und die politische Schlagseite der hegemonialen Kinoversion, unter Bezugnahme auf das Propagandamodell, durch Marktzwänge und Profitstrategien erklärt, die eine konservative und systemtreue Ausrichtung privilegieren. Testvorführungen treten als konkrete Vermittlungsinstanz hervor, die Anleitung dazu gibt, wie ästhetische Form an finanzielle Erwägungen angepasst werden kann. Das Resultat, so der Beitrag, stärkt dann eine bestehende Hegemonie weiter. Auf diese Weise wird das von Herman und Chomsky entwickelte Propagandamodell am konkreten Beispiel operationalisiert.

Annotation: The aim of the thesis is to verify the claim that movement and multiplicity in the works of Francis Bacon, as interpreted by Deleuze, become novel ontological features of the paintings; at the same time, Deleuze's critical reading of Bacon's thoughts and other texts foregrounds the relationships of representation and interpretation, thus making Deleuze's concepts applicable to the philosophical refexion of the theory of painting. The chief goals of the thesis are therefore to understand the rhizomatic thinking in the perception of the artwork and to emphasize the problem-riddled nature of the relationship of representation and interpretation in the works of Gill Deleuze. By way of comparison of two actual texts it will be demonstrated that the endeavour by Deleuze to use the rhizome concept to transcend represention is doomed when confined to the level of immanence. What is thus arrived at is a far more fundamental topic of the relationship of the levels of immanence and consistence.

In June 2015, the Vatican released Laudato Si’, Pope Francis encyclical focused on environmental issues. Pope Francis acted as an advocate for a binding agreement on climate change at the United Nation (UN) Convention conferences of the parties 2015 (COP21) citing the scientific consensus on the existence and human causes of climate change. This call for action by the Pope raised the question on the role of religion in the political sphere considering whether a religious authority could influence political matters. By building on the analytical framework drawn from the work of Corell and Betsill (2008), on assessing the influence of NGO in international environmental negotiations, this thesis developed an analytical framework for accessing the influence of Religious non-governmental organizations (RNGO) to examine the influence of RNGO on COP21. The findings also shed light on the secularization debate in International Relations.

The association of the name of Francis Bacon with that of Niccolo Machiavelli is no novelty to the modern reader. But in most instances this association is brief and fleeting, possessed of a will-o'-the-wisp character that is at once unsatisfying and challenging. The natural conclusion to which one is tempted to leap is that Bacon, since he is the more recent in point of time, was influenced by the great Florentine in matters of philosophy and style. A second possibility is that both men were influenced by similar conditions of political and cultural backgrounds. A still further consideration lies in the belief that certain ideas are "in the air", so to speak, and descend upon different minds in various times and places without implying any necessity of relationship. It seems advisable to study the two men and their works in the light of these three possibilities. It is not the purpose of this thesis to assert the influence of Machiavelli upon Bacon's philosophy as a whole. This study is rather an attempt to bring together in comparative consideration the personalities and philosophies of two outstanding minds of their respective ages, and to draw such conclusions as seem logical. To this end I propose to examine the theories of Machiavelli set forth in The Prince and the Discourses on Livy, and from this background to view Bacon's philosophy relating to civil business as set forth in his Essays, especially "Of Truth," and "Of Great Place," and in the Advancement of Learning. I have here used the term, philosophy, to refer to the principles of human conduct by which Bacon's life was governed, rather than in a metaphysical sense.
