Med annan blick : Gymnasieskribenters responsarbete / Another Point of ViewValtonen, Maria January 2015 (has links)
English title: Another Point of View The aim of this study is to find traces of learning in the process of peer response. This is explored by investigating the experiences expressed by the students and their work of transforming criteria into peer response questions. An analysis is also made of which criteria they focus on in their feedback. A close-up study of the meeting between the student, the response group and the text has been made consisting of three students and their groups. The teacher has ranked the groups from her expectations of their performances. Analytical tools are the criteria themselves, metalanguage (Hansson 2001) and local and global text levels (Hoel 2001). The theoretical framework is taken from Ewa Bergh Nestlog and her thesis from 2012. Based on systematic functional linguistics, critical discourse analysis and a dialogical conception of language she presents a transaction cycle. The transaction cycle explains the connection between metaunderstanding, the production and the reception of texts, and it is used in this study for understanding peer response. The study explores how Swedish students in upper secondary school make meaning in peer response. Eighteen students aged 16–17 have digitally been receiving and providing feedback in groups of three while writing an argumentative text. All the students are following a theoretical curriculum. Sources for the material are various written texts by the students. The data analysed consists of the students’ questions to the criteria, their feedback comments on Google Drive and their self-evaluations. The analysis of the self-evaluations shows that receiving and giving feedback helps the students to use a metaperspective while writing and editing their own texts. The students describe how the teaching activities and materials focusing on structure in text have helped them to focus on structure when giving a response. This is confirmed by the analysis of the feedback which shows that the students in their comments give critical and concrete feedback on structure using an adequate language. The results indicate that the chosen focus of teaching activities influences the focus of the students’ response and writing. The results also indicate a need for more teaching activities concerning grammatical terms. The close-up study shows that the students in the groups highly valued by their teacher have an ability to adjust their feedback according to both the text and their peers. The group less valued by their teacher gives very little response and the students do not participate in the self-evaluation.

Även Mega fungerade bäst under natten. / Cloud Storage services have seen increased usage and is an emerging market. This paper has focused on examining various cloud storage services from a speed perspective. When small files are exchanged between client and server, the speed of the service is of little importance. For larger transfers however, the speed of the service used plays a more important role. Regular speed measurements have been carried out against the most popular cloud storage services. The tests have been performed from Sweden and USA. The tests have been carried out over several days and at different times of day, to determine if speed differences exist. The results show that there are significant differences in speed between Sweden and the United States. In Sweden, Mega and Google Drive had the highest average speed. Within the United States, Google Drive had the highest average speed, but the variability between the services was not as great as in Sweden. In the results between different timeperiods, it was difficult to discern a pattern, with the exception of Google Drive in Sweden which consistently worked best during the night / morning. Mega also worked best during the night.

How Google Drive Affects Upper Secondary English as a Second Language Collaborative Writing - expressed by Teachers and StudentsJaakkonen, Mattias, Hosseini, Basir January 2018 (has links)
Swedish schools are gradually becoming more digitalized, which cause more teachers to turn to Google Drive for improving students´ collaborative writing, especially ESL teachers, which this degree project focuses on. Hence, the aim of this study is to find out how using Google Drive can influence upper secondary collaborative ESL writing. This degree project is qualitative in nature and explores the personal opinions of three ESL teachers and three ESL students at an upper secondary school in Sweden. Moreover, the paper offers an insight to how well the teachers’ digital training in Google Drive corresponds with the mission of improving students´ English writing ability. Furthermore, this paper provides an overview of previous research on Google Drive as a platform for collaborative learning. Based on the findings, the participants argue that collaborative writing in Google Drive can increase students’ motivation and improve several aspects of their written English, if used ideally. However, some key factors that determine the success of the platform are awareness and prevention of plagiarism, unbalanced workload and fundamental digital training for teachers, which then could be passed on to their students.

Behaviour-based detection ofransomware attacks in the Cloud usingmachine learningPopryho, Yaroslav, Popryho, Leonid January 2023 (has links)
Background: Ransomware attacks are a significant threat to digital informa-tion, and with the increasing adoption of cloud storage services, attackers now targetcloud environments. The existing literature on ransomware detection has primarilyfocused on local environments, and there is a limited body of research on applyingthese approaches to the cloud environment. Objectives: In this thesis, we aim to develop a behavior-based ransomware de-tection system for cloud environments, specifically focusing on Google Drive, usingmachine learning techniques. We will create a dedicated Google Workspace and uti-lize the Google Cloud Platform for developing the anomaly detection classifier. Methods: We will review related work in ransomware detection and machinelearning approaches to select suitable techniques for our research. Our anomaly de-tection classifier will analyze user activities in the cloud, such as file access patternsand permission changes, to detect deviations indicative of ransomware attacks. Results: We will validate our system’s performance by conducting experimentsin our Google Workspace, emulating ransomware attacks, and comparing the classi-fier’s performance against existing techniques. Conclusions: Our thesis aims to contribute a novel, behavior-based detectionsystem for ransomware attacks in cloud environments, advancing the state-of-the-artand providing a scalable solution for various cloud storage providers. Keywords: ransomware detection, cloud environments, behavior-based detec-tion, machine learning, Google Drive.

API-Based Acquisition of Evidence from Cloud Storage ProvidersBarreto, Andres E 11 August 2015 (has links)
Cloud computing and cloud storage services, in particular, pose a new challenge to digital forensic investigations. Currently, evidence acquisition for such services still follows the traditional approach of collecting artifacts on a client device. In this work, we show that such an approach not only requires upfront substantial investment in reverse engineering each service, but is also inherently incomplete as it misses prior versions of the artifacts, as well as cloud-only artifacts that do not have standard serialized representations on the client.
In this work, we introduce the concept of API-based evidence acquisition for cloud services, which addresses these concerns by utilizing the officially supported API of the service. To demonstrate the utility of this approach, we present a proof-of-concept acquisition tool, kumodd, which can acquire evidence from four major cloud storage providers: Google Drive, Microsoft One, Dropbox, and Box. The implementation provides both command-line and web user interfaces, and can be readily incorporated into established forensic processes.
