Ledarskap bland huvuddomare i SHL : En kvalitativ studie om ledarskapsstilar, hur ledarskap kommuniceras och förmedlas samt efterfrågat ledarskap

Berggren, Jonas January 2017 (has links)
The aim of this study was to examine leadership styles among head officials in the SHL and how they communicate leadership to ice hockey players in the SHL. The aim of this study was also to examine what type of leadership head officials in the SHL believe is requested from ice hockey players in the SHL. The selection of the study consisted of ten head officials in the SHL from the ice hockey season of 2016/2017, and the data collection was acquired trough semi-structured interviews with the participants. The collected data was subsequently analysed trough a thematic method. The results showed that there is no monolithic leadership style amongst the interviewed head officials in the SHL during the 2016/2017 ice hockey season. To find a leadership style that acts according to yourself is a vital part to be able to lead an individual or individuals. The ten interviewed head officials of the SHL described that body-language is a vital part of their leadership. They also described their way of working with positive feedback in communications with ice hockey players in the SHL as a way to encourage or transform actions of ice hockey players. The results of the study also indicates that the ten interviewed head officials in the SHL believe that a distinct and communicative leadership is the preferred option amongst ice hockey players in the SHL.

Konvoluční neuronové sítě a jejich využití při detekci objektů / Convolutional neural networks and their application in object detection

Hrinčár, Matej January 2013 (has links)
1 Title: Convolutional neural networks and their application in object detection Author: Matej Hrinčár Department: Department of Theoretical Computer Science and Mathematical Logic Supervisor: doc. RNDr. Iveta Mrázová, CSc. Supervisor's e-mail address: Iveta.Mrazova@mff.cuni.cz Abstract: Nowadays, it has become popular to enhance live sport streams with an augmented reality like adding various statistics over the hockey players. To do so, players must be automatically detected first. This thesis deals with such a challenging task. Our aim is to deliver not only a sufficient accuracy but also a speed because we should be able to make the detection in real time. We use one of the newer model of neural network which is a convolutional network. This model is suitable for proces- sing image data a can use input image without any preprocessing whatsoever. After our detailed analysis we choose this model as a detector for hockey players. We have tested several different architectures of the networks which we then compared and choose the one which is not only accurate but also fast enough. We have also tested the robustness of the network with noisy patterns. Finally we assigned detected pla- yers to their corresponding teams utilizing K-mean algorithm using the information about their jersey color. Keywords:...

Is there an economic value for elite sports? : The case of Swedish Hockey League

Åström, Erik January 2017 (has links)
The economic value of sport has long been an interesting subject to study. Proponents arguing there is big monetary return for a region hosting a professional sports team. However, majority of studies done on the subject point in the same direction where it seems economic return are negligible. Researchers even argue there is rather an alternative cost where money could be better spent on other social structure such as education and health care. The value of sport creates both direct and indirect effect. In this essay I will look at whether there could be any indirect spillover effects from hosting a hockey team in the highest league. Due to its simplicity, a difference-in-difference (DiD) method will be used on municipalities hosting a hockey team. This when looking at Gross Regional Product (GRP), unemployment rate and population growth to municipalities without a hockey team. The results of this study are ambiguous and hard to interpret when sign on coefficient differ between variables and municipalities. However, there seem to be a correlation between lower unemployment rate and population growth and an increase in GRP when a team is qualifying to SHL. It cannot be determined whether this depend on economic growth or success of their professional sports team.

Vliv frekvence bruslení na napětí svalu musculus triceps surae / The influence of skating frequency on muscle tone of musculus triceps surae

Obyt, Daniel January 2016 (has links)
Title: The influence of skating frequency on muscle tone of musculus triceps surae. Objective: The aim of this master degree thesis is to determine whether and how much influence the frequency and intensity of isotonic load the muscle tone of musculus soleus during skating of a professional ice hockey player. The muscle tone of musculus soleus is the most objectively measured part of musculus triceps surae by myotonometer. Methods: The master degree thesis is divided into the theoretical part, the processed form of research that serves as a basis for investigation in the second, empirical part. Change in muscle tone of musculus soleus was investigated by using myotonometer, which followed after a full physiotherapy examination. It is quantitative research using quasi-experimental study. Measurements were performed on 10 subjects - professional ice hockey players who are fully manage the technique of skating on the ice, before load, after low frequency isotonic load and after high frequency isotonic load. Conclusion: The myotonometric measurements revealed that after low and high frequency isotonic load of skating on ice rink, the muscle tone of musculus soleus is the same or slightly lower than before load. Keywords: Muscle tone, myotonometer, musculus soleus, skating, ice hockey
