Ayala, Néstor Fabián January 2010 (has links)
Due to the recognized benefits of lean production, in the world, companies of several classes and sizes are trying to implant the techniques of this production system. However, in their urgency to reach the benefits of lean manufacturing in a short period of time, companies implant these techniques sporadically and in an isolate form, without a clear connection with global strategies. As a consequence, most of them fail in their attempt to become a lean company and return to their old manufacturing systems. Several authors suggest the use of Hoshin Kanri for strategy deployment and to connect lean tools with the organization’s strategic planning. Currently, little scientific literature can be found regarding this strategic management system and its relationship to lean production. This work studies these two aspects through a deepened theoretical review and a case study of a company that uses Hoshin Kanri in the context of lean production. As a result, it was found that lean production is better used through Hoshin Kanri, since tools are applied in a manner aligned with global strategies. However, Hoshin Kanri does not need the lean production system to be used, once it is sustained in the quality branch of lean and not in the one of production tools.

Pavão, Rafael January 2013 (has links)
This dissertation aims to propose a model for the management of strategy implementation through the Hoshin Kanri method, combined with project management, to organize the processes of policy deployment and initiatives, increasing thus the successful execution of business strategy. Develop a strategy is an important step, but not enough to have a good plan, you need to run it successfully, developing the right incentives, on time and cost necessary to achieve the strategic objectives. In this context, companies that hold a consistent methodology for defining the project plan of strategic initiatives can minimize the risk of not achieving their goals. Thus, we present a literature review on the Hoshin Kanri method and projects management. Also proposed is a model consists of five steps, using elements of each method and successfully applied in an agro-industry, showing that it is possible to implement the strategy through the combined use of Hoshin Kanri and Project Management.

Hudson Cesar Cardin 05 November 2010 (has links)
The general purpose of this work is to study, in an automotive industry, the reduction of the costs of scrap and rework caused by no manufacturing quality or due to deficiencies in transport parts purchased from suppliers in Europe. To obtain the results the method was initially used to search bibliographic providing the basis for the descriptive case study in an automotive industry. This study was aimed at applied research, because it was motivated by solving a real problem, which is the reduction of these costs. Inspired by the tools of Lean Manufacturing it was created a working group to develop a procedure for invoicing again the not quality costs from European suppliers as well as the methodology was applied Hoshin to improve the processes of insurer in case of accidents in transport of these suppliers. To solve these problems the quality tools have been widely used. It was possible to invoice again from external suppliers in Europe about R$ 635.000,00 and lower R$ 305.312,00 in costs with scraps of domestic suppliers in Europe. Applying the procedure prompted the internal and external suppliers and the monthly cost with scrap considering the re-sales rose from R$ 86.973,00 to R$ 10.104,00. The cost per vehicle was R$ 10,32 to R$ 3,74. The gain added by 2009 was R$ 1.238.476,00.

Strategies for Ensuring the Timeliness of Small Business Financial Reporting in Nigeria

Nden, Nanzing Nangil 01 January 2019 (has links)
Small business owners in Nigeria submit financial reports to regulators and stakeholders, and they often lack strategies to ensure timeliness in the Nigeria report rendition. Lack of accounting competence and audit lag in the preparation, rendition, and submission of financial statements and reports are some of the contributors to this lack of timeliness. The purpose of this multiple case study was to explore strategies that owners of small businesses used to ensure timeliness of financial reporting. The population for this study was 5 owners of small businesses in Nigeria. Management by objectives and Hoshin Kanri were the conceptual framework for this study. Data were collected using semistructured interviews and a review of company documents. The thematic analysis led to the emergence of the following themes: (a) hiring the right employees, (b) regular training of accountants, (c) working with external accountants, (d) effective leadership and organizational structure, (e) attending accounting courses or workshops, and (f) using or abiding by formal financial reporting standards. Local small business owners may apply these results to hiring professional accountants to prepare timely financial reports to meet stakeholders' needs. Timely preparation of financial reports by owners of small businesses may contribute to positive social change by providing appropriate feedback to regulators, tax administrators, and small business owners, and encouraging and supporting local economic growth.

Improvement Management Training A case study at a Swedish Multinational Corporation

Gidebring, Christian, Petré, Daniel January 2014 (has links)
It is of vital importance never to forget that the world is ever changing. Therefore, it is crucialfor organizations not to only alter but also to improve their performance in order to becomemore competitive on the market. One way of achieving this is to work with continuousimprovements. However, this requires that the employees receive the needed training for thispurpose. In multinational corporations they must also all receive the same training in order tocreate a common culture throughout the whole organization. This study therefore aims toinvestigate how a multinational corporation can organize an Improvement ManagementTraining. Which are the main areas that are desirable to have knowledge in when leading animprovement work? In order to identify the areas of interest, a case study has been performedat Ericsson Supply Site Borås. The investigation was conducted as a combination of aqualitative and a semiquantitative study in order to determinate the empirical data. Využití vybraných logistický metod ve výrobním podniku / The usage of selected logistic methods in the manufacturing concern

KOHOUTOVÁ, Anna January 2008 (has links)
The main aim of this work was to rate the usage of selected logistic methods and introduction of the operating system Kanban to the production line in the project {\clqq}C214 Top Roll`` of the company Faurecia Automotive Czech Republic, s.r.o, Interior Systems. A minor aim then was to find out the knowledge level of the Kanban method. Methodics Hypotheses: 1.The logistic flows used in the Faurecia company already function sufficiently enough, the proof of which is the stabilised production. 2.Using the operating system Kanban for functioning production, logistics and the whole company Faurecia is rather advantageous. 3.Training all the employees is a vital part in the process of introducing the operating system Kamban. Methods: deducion, situation analysis - collection of information, interviews, survey, questioning brief, modeling Structure of the practical part is following: company profile, character of pruduction and setting of the main logistical flows, determination of zones and stock sectors, process implementation and using of Kanban in the production line "C214 Top Roll". The first hypothesis can be confirmed by the situational analysis which evaluates the processing and logistic method. The individual methods {\clqq}met`` or {\clqq}nearly met`` the demands and because all the methods together partake of the production and the production has provided very good results in the previous months, we can consider the production being stabilised. The second can also be affirmed. If the production on a particular assembly line is stabilised, it is possible to introduce the Kanban method. Why not to use it if a there is a great advantage of this method in simplicity and lower production supplies which result in decreasing the total costs? It is beneficial for all participating on the production and for the Faurecia company as a whole. Third hypothesis can be confirmed as well. There has been a survey based on short questionaires and the knowledge of working and using the Kanban has been found inadequate. The best form of providing all the important information will be a training as a part of the process of introducing and using the Kanban method. Both aims have been resulted in stating possible recommendations and improvement suggestions: - production is stabilized, Kanban is possible to apply on 1.9. 2008 - training is necessary, meeting of responsible persons, control, messing, measures, - training of current and new workers, - motivation, communication improve, - system of regural records about information and control of chief (material and production planning)
