超級市場之競爭策略分析—以全聯福利中心為例 / Strategy Competitive Analysis of a Supermarket - A Case Study of PX Market. Wu, Amy Unknown Date (has links)
超級市場之競爭策略分析—以全聯福利中心為例 / As the competition gets intensively in the retail industry, the boundary between different types of operation has disappeared. In Taiwan, hypermarkets started to downsize its store size. On the other hand, convenient stores expand its store size to target at eating out customers. Supermarket with the size between hypermarkets and convenient stores should reposition itself to confront the challenges. After the rapid expansion period, Pxmart started to reconsider its value proposition and its core competence. In order to achieve its corporate mission statement and its goal in the following 6 years, Pxmart’s CEO, Mr. Xu, comes up with strategies in terms of staffing, store, merchandise, and system and institution.
Although Pxmart will be able to attract more customers with its store and merchandise strategy, it still encountered challenges due to its physical facilities, such as limited space to display products and for customers to park. How to reposition itself and provide customers with a pleasant and convenient shopping experience will be the first priority that Pxmart should consider.
Compared to the leading brands in the United States, Pxmart and the retailers in Taiwan should embrace the technology innovation and try different business model to make their company updated and provide their customers more convenient way to purchase.

Factors Influencing Impulse Buying in Retail Stores / Factors Influencing Impulse Buying in Retail StoresGiorgadze, Nino January 2014 (has links)
Impulse buying is a widely pervasive phenomenon. Statistics shows that more and more shoppers are experiencing irresistible urge to purchase unplanned and in most cases unnecessary product. Existing researches fall short in identifying most suitable tools that marketers can adopt in order to promote impulsive sales. Therefore, this thesis provides deep analysis of those, controllable factors that influence impulse buying. Particularly four external cues are examined: product display, promotional signage, sensory elements and social atmospherics. Research has deductive approach. First, existing academic articles and research papers are analyzed. Then two different methods of primary data collection are covered. Self-reported online survey is used as a main research tool. Received data of 193 respondents is analyzed in SPSS software using Pearson correlation test and standard multiple regression analysis. Results of store experiment and interviews are covered next. The research concludes that product display has strongest impact on impulse buying, influences and encourages consumer unplanned purchase decisions. Thus, marketers are advised to promote product presentation in the stores.

Previous issue date: 2009-11-04 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This dissertation aimed to identify and analyze the Social and Environmental Responsibility
actions on the Self-Service Retail. The theme approach comprised the period between 2000
and 2009, starting from the case study on Extra Hypermarket Santa Rosália in Sorocaba/ SP
that belongs to Pão de Açúcar Group. The methodology included the Bibliographic Research
about conceptual production referring to Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility,
Social Balance, Commerce, Retail, Self-Service Retail; the Documental Research (Laws,
Sustainability Reports, Social Balance and others) and the Field Research. On the research,
with qualitative features, it was used for the methodological procedures the semi-structured
interview with seven subjects: collaborators, organized Sorocaba civil society representatives
and partners of the Social and Environmental Responsibility actions developed by Extra store,
as well as the Participant Observation and technological resources, as filming a video and
access to specific websites on the perspective of describing such actions on its working
dynamics. The analysis of the empirical data emphasized the content and meaning of the
people reports. The research results evidenced that the developed actions are mainly focalized
in a strategy of customer gaining and retail marketing, however, they involve educative
actions and have the possibility of spreading healthy habits aiming the life quality
improvement of the local population. The results indicate, yet, fragility considering the
discontinuity features and fragmentation of these actions and in evidence the absence of
planning, monitoring, checking and the participation of everyone involved on the shared
effectuation of the Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility / A presente dissertação visou identificar e analisar as ações de Responsabilidade
A metodologia abrangeu a Pesquisa Bibliográfica

Urban logistics and the last mile in particular, is a major concern for cities today. To address this concern, we have established in the introductory chapter a history of the problem of urban logistics. This allows a better understanding of its development over the years, and deducing that it’s essential to study the supply chain in its entirety to better solve the problem of urban logistics. However, we were faced with a daunting task: the lack of comprehensive and reliable data. In addition, there has been a multiplication of distribution channels in recent years. This includes the delivery from warehouses to stores and further to households from the retail space. Therefore, we intended to identify all existing and emerging logistics organizations in France and beyond (one year exchange stay in England and Switzerland for research purposes). To do this, we established in the second chapter certain parameters that differentiate the logistics modes of various organizations upstream (from manufacturers to retail stores) and downstream (from retail stores to households). Unfortunately, there does not exist any economic and environmental assessment to settle between different forms of traditional and modern electronic distribution, by taking into account the various characteristics of different products families (non-food, dry, fresh, frozen) and the diversity of their delivery modes.Faced with constraints of such size, we conducted surveys with different actors of distribution channels, which provided the opportunity to make contacts, thus collect firsthand and so far unpublished technical and economic data. In addition to the resolution of empirical inadequacy in the third chapter, this research also helped to develop a methodological approach related to the reconstruction and evaluation of logistics costs and emissions (in warehouses, transit platforms, retail stores and shared platforms) and also the costs and emissions of vehicles (trucks, delivery van, cars, public transport, bikes, motorbikes and walking). Finally, this research has lead to the construction of a database and the development of a decision support tool to infer, in the fourth chapter, the economic and environmental appraisal of the entire supply chain from the supplier's warehouse to the final customer. This tool can be useful for public policy, future strategies of retailers and Third-Party Logistics providers to focus on efficient and sustainable modes of organization, and even it will benefit the customer to estimate the costs and emissions of its acts of purchase in classic and e-grocery shopping.
