Idrott och fritid – en väg till integration? : En kvalitativ studie om hur ledare inom idrottsföreningar och fritidsverksamheter arbetar med integration

Andersson, Daniel, Andersson, Martina January 2017 (has links)
The purpose of the study is to explore opportunities for unaccompanied minors to be integrated and participate in society through youth centres and football clubs. This is done by analysing how the leader in recreational activities and sports clubs look to their function as an integration tool for unaccompanied young people. The study was based on a qualitative approach and empirical data collection was done by semi-structured interviews. We have interviewed a total of six people, three are working on municipal youth centres and three people working in football clubs. When the empirical evidence was gathered, we found two main themes integration with under themes influence and rights and obligations and opportunities and difficulties with the under theme the collaboration.  The study's results have been analysed in the light of previous research, as well as the theoretical concepts of civil society, integration and empowerment. The result shows that youth centres and football clubs work with integration issues and that it is important to create a climate where young people can sense fellowship. Mainly on youth centres language was a barrier which sometimes could complicate the process of integration. In football clubs had the youth not always the language skills but the leaders stated that when language was not there other young people could help to translate and explain. Leaders in football clubs specified all the young people who train and play with them had difficult to take place in the established clubs and they saw problems with the integration when established clubs would not or could not accommodate all who want to participate in the club. However, they believed that young people could start in their team and later move on to the second, which they also help young people to do.
