This thesis concentrates on Competitive Intelligence which is not well known in the Czech region. On the other hand, it has been a rapidly increasing discipline. The main aim of this thesis is to suggest how to use the methods of Competitive Intelligence in small and medium-sized companies. The theoretical part summarises the terminology of Competitive Intelligence. At first the strategic management is being defined, as it is the basis of practical usage of the Competitive Intelligence methods in companies. The definition of small and medium-sized companies in the Czech business environment is also included in the theoretical part, because the importance of this kind of enterprise constantly grows even in the conditions of the global economics. This part of the thesis is a background research resulting from the available range of the specialized literature and other related sources. The empirical part of the thesis works in detail with the problem of Competitive Intelligence in three retail companies which focus on different business segments. The main aim is to suggest an appropriate solution in the area of monitoring the relevant information resources and other processes of the intelligence cycle. The target company is the one whose information collection and distribution was -- according to the analysis -- considered insufficient. The methods of the analysis include for example Michael Porter's Five Forces Model, SWOT analysis and the analysis of the existing processes of collecting and sharing information in the examined companies. The contribution of this thesis is that it explains the available IT tools and applications which provide systematic monitoring of relevant information sources or collect and distribute information with practical functions responding to demands and needs of MSP. The suggested solution also defines the qualified person responsible for realization of CI processes and it describes the specific activities that the qualified person should perform. The thesis should simplify the process of finding the most appropriate methods in the area of Competitive Intelligence, used in medium-sized and primarily small companies.

This thesis deals with the use of the social Networks for Competitive Intelligence theme in Provident Financial. The main objective of this thesis is to propose the set of recommendations for the effective use of social networking of the company. The recommendations are based on the analysis made for use of social networking by the competitors. The first part of the thesis deals with the issue of the social networking and competitive intelligence. The theoretical part of the thesis explains the social Networks concept and presents the selected Czech and World social Networks and explains the CI concept. The practical part of the thesis presents Provident Financial, the current condition of social networking and company CI. The main competitors are analyzed by the social networking activities. This analysis of the competitors is summarized into one report containing the benchmark ratings. The results of the benchmarking serve as a basis for the set of recommendations for the effective use of social networking of Provident Financial.

This thesis deals with the improvement of mobile applications for the Fire Brigade of the Czech Republic. The theoretical part focuses on the importance of information that is necessary for the successful completion of an emergency situation. This section also includes a description of the activities of the regional operations centers and information system used by firefighters. The theoretical part is closed by the description of the process of the elaboration of an emergency situation. One of the aims of the practical part was to carry out the analysis of mobile applications used on the terminal equipment of the tablet in the Czech Republic and in neighbouring countries. Another goal was to design improvements in the form of new mobile applications that Fire Brigade in the Czech Republic could develop. Besides there were proposed recommended mobile application for the tablets considering the selected roles of firefighters.

Diploma thesis focuses on cybernetics and information literacy with emphasis on the human element in these topics. The first part describes cybernetics with its two basic terms, which are information and management, as a theoretical resource for subsequent detection of information, resp. internet literacy among students of high scholls and universities. The practical part includes creation of questionnaire, articulation of hypotheses for factual and perceived level of information literacy and subsequent interpretation results of the questionnaire. Addressing the respondents was held by deputy director of one prague high school, through social networks and also by direct addressing. This part reports the information about the level of information literacy with sense of constraints that results contains. Explanatory power of the results of the questionnaire survey is mentioned in the conclusion of this thesis.

Based on this assumption, we will examine television from the perspective of several main media theorists. In fact, there are several basically different views on this medium and its audience. Especially older writers such as Pierre Bourdieu, Neil Postman, Jeremy Orlebar or Guy Debord, have become accustomed to television and the overall medial platform as manipulative and television audience passive. On the other hand, there are also several authors, who see media in progress, digitization and the emergence of new media as new possibilities. Cognitive Limitations and Behavioral Biases In The Asset Pricing Context MAER Thesis Asbtract Giorgi Chavchanidze I incorporate behavioral and bounded rationality elements into a single asset-pricing frame- work by setting up a two-period consumption-based portfolio selection problem in which a representative agent has biased priors, does not observe the current state and thus has in- complete information about future state probabilities. He forms posterior beliefs using signals that he selects according to the rational inattention discrete choice framework of Matějka and McKay (2015), where the precision of the beliefs depend intuitively on the priors and the cost of information λ. In the case of log-utility, the optimal portfolio is a convex combination of the N portfolios the investor would have selected in each of the N states if they were fully observable, where the weights reflect the subjective posterior likelihood of time-zero states. The posterior beliefs are induced by parsimonious reweighing of priors, where the weights depend on λ, discount factor β and the relative entropies of the future state distributions induced by different time-zero states. Diploma thesis "Vạn Xuân" - Ten thousand springs: Vietnamese journal in Czech republic deals not only with the magazine itself, but also with the Vietnamese press in Czech Republic in general. It is impossible to study Vietnamese press in Czech Republic without historical knowledge about this community on Czech territory. Hence, in the first part of this paper, the Vietnamese migration is fully explained. The aim of this work is to find out, how magazine Vạn Xuân reflects parallel Words in which it works - in Czech majority and Vietnamese minor. It is also important to know the range of information from Vietnam that the journal brings. Since most of Vietnamese do not speak Czech well and can not obtain information from Czech media, Vietnamese magazines are their primary, sometimes the only information source that they have. Thereby, Vietnamese press in Czech Republic has an important role in shaping knowledge and maybe even opinion of its community. This master´s thesis deals with analysis of processes in company and then with selection of information system for this company. First part is aimed to theoretical basis which will be needed for understanding our problem. Next part of thesis contains analysis of current situation of the company and analysis of processes of the company. Based on these analyses there are defined requirements for the selection of a new information system. Then is made an actual selection of the information system.

This thesis deals with the analysis, proposal and implementation of part of the information system for a selected subject, specifically the proposal of a website including a web application for content management of selected parts of the website. For a successful proposal solution it is very important the first analysis together with requirements of the contracting authority. The graphic design phase occurs after analysis and is followed by the development of the website and the application for content management. After testing and agreement of the proposal solution from the contracting authority the website and application are implemented to the server site. In the final part of the thesis an economic evaluation and benefit’s analysis of the proposal solution are done.

The master thesis describes the analysis and proposal of changes of information system for the village Hrušovany u Brna. The analysis of information system was done mainly using the method HOS8. Changes were made on the base of the analysis, mainly the new part of the information system, which collects data about waste sorting in families. Introduction of these changes bring new information to the management and contribute to better waste management in the village.
