Kritická reflexe projektů a platformy Ushahidi / Critical reflection of projects and platform Ushahidi

Růžičková, Silvie January 2013 (has links)
This presented work deals with crowdsourcing tools for mapping and filtering of data that are created by the Ushahidi, Inc. and ways of their use. Ushahidi and SwiftRiver platforms and hosted version of Ushahidi called Crowdmap are counted among the tools for crisis mapping; however, more and more they are also used for other topics or issues. The aim of this work is to subject to a critical point of view not only the Ushahidi platform as a tool, but also a number of significant or interesting projects in which it was used. Presented is also the recommendation, how to use Ushahidi to create a successful project and the other way round what to avoid, when you work with Ushahidi. The basic building elements of Ushahidi are crowdsourcing, citizen journalism, geospatial information, and in particular the work of volunteers. This work describes the role of these building elements in Ushahidi, and subjects to critical reflection also the problematic sides, which Ushahidi is struggling with. Following is the analysis of selected sample of Ushahidi and Crowdmap deployments, which deals with the thematic, geographical and time stratification of the maps in the sample. Some significant uses of Ushahidi with humanitarian and non-humanitarian purpose of the deployment are examined in the end.

Extrakce znalostních grafů z projektové dokumentace / Extrakce znalostních grafů z projektové dokumentace

Helešic, Tomáš January 2014 (has links)
Title: Knowledge Graph Extraction from Project Documentation Author: Bc. Tomáš Helešic Department: Department of Software Engineering Supervisor: Mgr. Martin Nečaský, Ph.D. Abstract: With the new research progress in the natural language processing and information extraction from text, new possibility of automatic knowledge acqui- sition and its grouping into Knowledge graphs, that are catching the semantic relations between these entities is emerging. For these Knowledge graphs, data storages and also query languages already exists, which allow more precise and relevant search possibilities compare with current full text search engines. The goal of this thesis is to explore the opportunity of automatic extraction of infor- mation from project documentation with the use of linguistic text processing, design a proper data storage and build a search engine over it. Keywords: Knowledge grahs, Information extraction, Natural language process- ing, Resource Description Framework 1

Title: Knowledge Graph Extraction from Project Documentation Author: Bc. Tomáš Helešic Department: Department of Software Engineering Supervisor: Mgr. Martin Nečaský, Ph.D. Abstract: The goal of this thesis is to explore the possibilities of automatic in- formation extraction from company project documentation with the use of ma- chine natural language processing and the analysis of the precision of linguistic processing of these documents. Furthermore suggest methods how acquire key terms and dependencies between them. From this terms and dependencies cre- ate knowledge graphs, that are stored in an appropriate database with search engine. The work is trying to interconnect already existing technologies in a shape of a simple application and test their readiness for a practical use. The goal is to inspire future research in this field, identify critical parts and propose improvements. The main gain is in the interconnection between natural lan- guage processing, methods of information extraction and semantic searching in corporate documents. The gain of the practical part reside in the way how to identify key information that is uniquely describing each document and its use in search. Keywords: Knowledge graphs, Information extraction, Natural language pro- cessing, Resource Description Framework 1

Analýza systému Medline/PubMed / Analysis of Medline/PubMed

Vejvoda, Tomáš January 2016 (has links)
The diploma thesis examines biomedicine bibliographic databases MEDLINE and PubMed, both developed, maintained and provided by the U. S. National Library of Medicine (NLM). A general goal of thesis is offering answers to the question of historical and current importance of these resources. Text deals with a historical context of databases formation and their reflection in Czechoslovakian and Czech scientific community, what is also supported by qualitative research conducted as part of the thesis. Main part of the thesis deals with comprehensive analysis of the databases within environment formed by the NLM; analysis of systems components and PubMed graphic user interface and its query language. The thesis also presents issues of accessing databases content through third parties alternative platforms or interfaces built upon E-Utilities API. In the end, thesis offers ideas on probable development of MEDLINE and PubMed databases in the near and distant future. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Gilbert Simondon a jeho vliv na současné myšlení o médiích / Gilbert Simondon and his influence on current media thinking

Maha, Jiří January 2016 (has links)
Keywords Gilbert Simondon, Bernard Stiegler, Mark B. N. Hansen, philosophy, media, technology, humanism, individuation, information Abstract This text has two parallel objectives. First, to introduce the original work of french philosopher Gilbert Simondon. Second, to show its potential of his philosophy in relation to our thinking about the current media-techno- logically conditioned environment in which we live and through which we understand the world. I have two motivations for the first objective. First, the work of Gilbert Simondon is still completely unknown in Czech Repub- lic, therefore I find it necessary to offer to the reader the introduction of his work. Second, without such introduction it would be very difficult to ope- rate with his crucial concepts in the work of his contemporary interpreters whose contributions I will discuss in the second part of the text. The se- cond objective is motivated with my interest in delimitation of speculative and materialistic line of thinking based on the work of Gilbert Simondon. Such thought with its description of the world is in clear opposition with anthropocentrism. Nevertheless, it cannot be considered as a part of object oriented ontology neither. I'm not going to show the importance of Gilbert Simondon for media theory in this text. Rather, I will...

Vyhýbání se informacím jako druh informačního chování / Avoiding information as a type of information behaviour

Šiborová, Jitka January 2019 (has links)
The aim of this diploma thesis has been a description of the phenomenon of avoiding information as one of the types of information behaviour. Avoiding information is the opposite of active information searching, but only during the last few decades it has been perceived as a problem. It often appears as related to health information, that is why my diploma thesis is primarily focused on this area. Given the fact that there doesn't exist the more detailed elaboration in Czech, the important contribution of this diploma thesis is the complex sight on this problematics. In the theoretical part there has been analyse existing abroad literature related to this topic. There have been described the influencing factors of avoiding information, then the reasons, which lead to this behaviour and the methods and strategies through which avoiding information is applied. It used the methods of quantitative and qualitative research in the practical part. keywords: avoiding information, information behaviour, seeking information, health, health information

Akvizice nákladné informace při rozhodování na základě dat / Acquisition of Costly Information in Data-Driven Decision Making

Janásek, Lukáš January 2021 (has links)
This thesis formulates and solves an economic decision problem of the acquisi- tion of costly information in data-driven decision making. The thesis assumes an agent predicting a random variable utilizing several costly explanatory vari- ables. Prior to the decision making, the agent learns about the relationship between the random variables utilizing its past realizations. During the deci- sion making, the agent decides what costly variables to acquire and predicts using the acquired variables. The agent's utility consists of the correctness of the prediction and the costs of the acquired variables. To solve the decision problem, the thesis divides the decision process into two parts: acquisition of variables and prediction using the acquired variables. For the prediction, the thesis presents a novel approach for training a single predictive model accepting any combination of acquired variables. For the acquisition, the thesis presents two novel methods using supervised machine learning models: a backward es- timation of the expected utility of each variable and a greedy acquisition of variables based on a myopic increase in the expected utility of variables. Next, the thesis formulates the decision problem as a Markov decision process which allows approximating the optimal acquisition via deep...
